Bespoke Post is a monthly membership club that delivers high-quality lifestyle products from up-and-coming brands. It’s voted as one of the best men’s subscription boxes of 2024 by our readers and it’s a great box for women and couples as well.

When you sign up, there’s a quiz to determine your preferences and interests, and then you’re matched with a differently-themed box every month. For $49 per month, each box promises at least $70 in retail value with items ranging from outdoor gear, barware, home, kitchen goods, clothing, and more. If you're not into the boxes selected for you, there are many others to choose from.

Unlike most subscription boxes, you get to preview your Bespoke Post box before it ships, and you can easily swap for a different box or skip the month for no charge. You only pay for the months that interest you.

This is a review of the "Carpenter" box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Inside the Bespoke Post "Carpenter" Box

Line of Trade The Utility Pant - Retail Price $85

I used to do all my construction projects in a pair of old, torn jeans. In addition to looking ratty, they don't hold up or protect me very well. I recently decided to update my look with a pair of heavy duty carpenter's pants and haven't looked back. Since I like to keep my work clothes at work, I took the opportunity to get a second pair for my home.

These are The Utility Pant from Line of Trade. The sturdy 12 oz. heavy grain twill delivers practical durability, which is reinforced from the pocket to the shin. Despite the hefty fabric, the garment feels broken-in right out of the bag. It's double-needle stitched for tong-term durability. In addition to the usually four pockets, there is also a double carpenter's pockets perfect for tools, pencils, or whatever you can think of. I went with the tan look, but they are also offered in "coffee."

Never before in my reviewing have I so immediately tested out an item. I received, photographed, and wore these pants to shingle a roof the same day. I worked in them for a week straight and never gave them a second thought. That is to say, they did their job perfectly and it felt like I had owned them forever.

My only complaint is the size options. They start at a length of 32, which is already too big for me. I guess I'm supposed to roll them up, according to the site's photos, but it'd be nice if they were the size I needed. Nothing a quick hem can't fix.

Verdict

I get a lot of clothes from Bespoke Post. Usually it's for leisure, but this time it was for work. I was really happy with these utility pants from Line of Trade. I put them to the test and they passed easily. Like every piece of clothing I get from Line of Trade, these went directly into my routine and will become my go-to work pants at home.

However, while I am happy with these pants and their price as a member, a quick search will produce similar options from a trusted name like Carhartt for close to the same prices as the subscription. Not only do the Carhartt ones seem more robust, but you can also dial in your size better than Line of Trade allows. Not to mention it has that sexy hammer loop. Something to think about if you're in the market for work pants.

Let's Talk About Value

These pants are valued at $85. That's a $30 savings against the cost of this subscription ($49 plus $5 shipping). I always think it is worth mentioning that Line of Trade is Bespoke Post's own clothing company. I own, wear, and love a lot of their clothing, but sometimes it feels like they are telling you what something is worth so you feel like you got a deal with the subscription. Anyway, with the money I saved, I could buy a new tool. However, if I need a pair of pants in the future, I will probably just buy a beefier brand for near the same price and use my monthly subscription for something else.
