Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that sends samples (and sometimes full sizes) of new and exciting beauty products from top brands. Despite being out of the game for a minute, the subscription is back! Birchbox is one of the original beauty subscription boxes and is a great way to discover new makeup, hair care, and skincare products (four to six items every month) without breaking the bank.
This is one of our top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box — the value and sample sizes are amazing. Just like Ipsy, Birchbox sends out many different variations of their bag each month — so my review is just one of the bag variations you might receive!
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes).
First Impressions
This month's box didn't come with a card, but I was so pleased with what I saw inside the moment I opened up the box that I didn't even notice!
Now, on to the items!
TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL All-in-One Egg Mellow Cream, 15 ml - Estimated Value $10.80
I really love this All-in-One Egg Mellow Cream from Too Cool for School; such a reliable favorite for me. I have used it off and on for years, and it never disappoints. The texture is wonderfully smooth to the touch and super lightweight on the face, absorbing quickly into the skin without leaving behind any greasy residue. I love how versatile it is as a product; it works as a firming moisturizer, serum, and even a primer, which is a huge plus for streamlining any skincare routine. My skin always feels soft, hydrated, and calm after using it, with a noticeable boost in smoothness. It’s one of those products I’m always happy to see in a box!
DR. BOTANICALS APOTHECARY Pomegranate Superfood Regenerating Sleeping Mask, 30 ml - Retail Value $12.99
Another tried-and-true product, this Dr. Botanicals Apothecary Pomegranate Superfood Regenerating Sleeping Mask is a lovely addition to my nighttime skincare. The scent is light and refreshing, which makes it a delight to apply before bed (nothing too overpowering). I appreciate the rich but not heavy formula, absorbing beautifully into my skin without leaving any residue behind. What I love most is how seamlessly it works overnight to deeply nourish and regenerate, so I wake up with refreshed skin. It’s a great pick for when my skin needs a little extra care, and the antioxidant-rich pomegranate extract leaves behind a healthy glow.
VITAMASQUES Rose Petal Jelly Toner, 30 ml - Retail Value $20.00
Love this Rose Petal Jelly Toner from Vitamasques! It’s quickly become one of my go-to products. While I’m not usually a fan of rose-scented products, this one fades so fast that it doesn’t bother me. The real standout is its texture. It’s so easy to apply without needing a cotton round, making it perfect for travel or a quick skincare refresh when I’m on the go. I love how it feels like a gel-based serum more than a traditional toner, and my skin truly loves it. The product absorbs quickly without leaving behind any sticky residue, which I truly appreciate. Plus, the packaging is super cute, and I was pleasantly surprised by the generous sample size.
R+Co Television Perfect Hair Masque, 15 ml - Estimated Value $4.29
R+Co is an awesome brand when it comes to hair care, and I always grab their products with my bestie in mind. She has finer hair than mine, and this Television Perfect Hair Masque works wonders for her without weighing the hair down, which is a rare gem when it comes to hair masks. The travel size is especially perfect for her since she’s constantly on the go for work, and finding effective hair products in small sizes can be such a challenge. It’s lightweight but still deeply nourishing, leaving hair feeling soft and shiny. So far, this product is a hit!
BAREMINERALS Ageless 10% Phyto-Retinol Night Concentrate, 30 ml - Retail Value $71.00
BareMinerals is another solid brand, and I couldn’t be happier to see this product in this month’s box. I believe it was one of my selections, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a full-sized product; an incredible value. This Ageless 10% Phyto-Retinol Night Concentrate uses phyto-retinol, which is a plant-based alternative to traditional retinol, making it gentle enough for sensitive skin like mine while still being super effective. In the past, I’ve rarely been able to use retinol-focused products due to the major irritation I would experience. So, with that in mind, I’m even more interested in getting to incorporate this concentrate and see the full benefit (fine line reduction, improved skin texture, etc.). Overall, this is a great find, and I can’t wait to see the long-term results it may bring.
KATE SOMERVILLE EradiKate Acne Mark Fading Gel, 30 ml - Retail Value $69.00
This Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Mark Fading Gel was another of my selections, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with it. Again, I hadn’t realized this was a full-sized product, which makes it even more exciting for me. The name ‘EradiKate’ is so clever, and the sleek packaging (with the cutest smiley face detail on the inside) is such a fun touch. I’m so pumped for the formula; it’s designed to help fade acne scars and marks over time with consistent use. It’s also cruelty-free, which is a big win in my book and makes me love it even more. This is definitely a standout product that I’m happy to add to my routine! I’m very interested to see the results down the road.
The Verdict
This was an incredible month for Birchbox! The Dr. Botanicals Apothecary sleep mask was such a treat with its lightweight yet nourishing formula and refreshing scent that made my nighttime routine feel extra luxurious. I was equally thrilled with the egg mellow cream from Too Cool for School; a longtime favorite of mine that always leaves my skin smooth, hydrated, and ready for the day. Kate Somerville’s acne scar gel was another highlight, especially since it came full-sized, and I’m interested to see how much progress it’ll make on my old acne scars. The night concentrate from BareMinerals was another amazing find, and I’m looking forward to the results of its gentle, plant-based retinol formula with consistent use. I’m also a huge fan of Vitamasques’ jelly toner, which absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave behind any sticky residue. Lastly, the R+Co hair mask, with its lightweight and travel-friendly design, is perfect for those with finer hair, leaving hair feeling manageable and refreshed. Overall, this month’s Birchbox offered up a well-balanced mix of products, along with a stunning value, and it’s been a huge win for me.
