Enchanted Crystal is a monthly subscription for crystals, hand-picked and uniquely curated to offer a truly enchanted crystal experience.

This box was sent to us free of charge for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This is a review of the $42.00 Crystal Variety Box.

First Impressions

How cute is the crystal covered tape that wraps this sturdy box? Such a lovely presentation!

The crystals were carefully packaged: nestled in sturdy paper and (separately) enclosed in bubble wrap. Unsurprisingly, the crystals arrived in perfect condition!

Enchanted Crystal includes an insert in their variety subscription box that has several QR codes that link to various letters on their blog. One links to a letter to new subscribers, another to their Crystal Library and one to the current month’s newsletter.

In the September blog post, Enchanted Crystal shares that they’re excited for the Denver Gem And Mineral Show, which they’ve been attending since 2015. Once back, Enchanted Crystal hints that a big announcement will be made. Stay tuned to find out what it is!

This month they included a bonus sticker/cling. The Enchanted Crystal name and logo are printed on a very thick, sturdy vinyl material.

The Crystals

Bonus Crystals - Mixed Tumbled Variety

Each month, Enchanted Crystal includes a small collection of bonus crystals and stones in their box. The bonus stones that I received were 7 beautiful blue mystery pieces. Blue is my favorite color so I’m never disappointed to receive blue stones. I’m not sure what they all are but I’m willing to bet that some of them are sodalite.

According to Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library, “Metaphysically, sodalite is known as a stone of insight and intuition. It is believed to enhance mental clarity and logical thinking, making it ideal for those engaged in deep, philosophical, or analytical thinking. Sodalite is said to foster a bridge between thoughts and feelings, aiding in the verbalization of emotions and promoting honest communication. It's also associated with calming the mind and easing anxiety, which makes it a great companion for meditation or any practice requiring deep concentration. The stone’s soothing blue tones are thought to encourage a tranquil state of mind, helping to align inner peace with external reality.”

A great start. Now, on to the main event!

Ruby (Old Find)

The first stone I unwrapped this month was a large chunk of ruby. I’m pleasantly surprised to be sent a genuine ruby; and a large one, as well. It was roughly cut into a hexagon shape so it retained its natural beauty.

According to Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library, “Ruby crystals (like the raw ones we share in our subscription boxes) are natural formations of the gemstone ruby before they are cut and polished into faceted gemstones. Ruby crystals are composed of the mineral corundum, with the striking red color (which occurs when cut and polished) caused by traces of chromium. Ruby crystals are found in various regions around the world, including Myanmar (Burma), Thailand, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, and Mozambique. Enchanted Crystal sources their raw ruby varieties from Madagascar.”

The Crystal Library adds that, “Metaphysically, ruby is believed to possess powerful properties. It is associated with the heart chakra, promoting love, passion, and vitality. Ruby is said to ignite courage, confidence, and personal strength, empowering individuals to pursue their dreams and overcome challenges. Ruby is also associated with abundance and success, with some believing it can attract wealth and prosperity.”

Black Kyanite Set

The second crystal I opened was this Black Kyanite set. I adore blue kyanite but I was unaware it came in other colors. This set of black kyanite was also the first piece of kyanite I’ve seen in its raw form.

The Crystal Library explains that, “Black kyanite is a unique crystal formation of the mineral kyanite, known for its sleek and black appearance. It is typically found in blade-like or fan-like shapes, with a natural striated texture. Black kyanite is formed in metamorphic rock environments under high-pressure conditions, where the mineral aligns itself in a specific direction, resulting in its distinctive shape.”

Enchanted Crystal adds, “Metaphysically, bBlack kyanite is prized for its grounding and protective properties. It is believed to create a strong energetic connection to the Earth, helping to anchor and stabilize one's energy field. Black kyanite is said to facilitate the clearing and alignment of all chakras, especially the Root chakra. It is believed to help release energy blockages, promote energetic flow, and support emotional balance.”

Madagascar Green Fluorite Palm Stone

I love palm stones! There’s something soothing about holding a gemstone. Especially a smooth one that is meant to be carried around with you. When I find one that speaks to me, as strange as that may sound, I keep it close. I have several palm stones so I was happy to let my sister have this one; she was drawn to it so I knew that this piece of Madagascar green fluorite was meant for her.

According to The Crystal Library, “Metaphysically, green fluorite is renowned for its properties of renewal and growth. It is believed to have a strong connection to nature and the natural world, often used to bring balance and harmony to the environment. This stone is thought to absorb negative energies, making it a popular choice for those seeking to cleanse their aura or living spaces. In terms of personal growth, green fluorite is associated with intuition and instinct, believed to enhance decision-making and clear thinking, particularly in situations where dispassionate logic is needed.”

Coppernite

The next stone I unwrapped is Coppernite. This piece of it looks like a black slab with one side that is flat, smooth and shiny.

According to the Crystal Library, “Coppernite, sourced from Morocco, is a unique and intriguing mineral known for its striking metallic and iridescent qualities. This mineral primarily forms in volcanic environments, where hot gases and fluids interact with the surrounding rock. During this process, copper and other minerals become concentrated in the gas pockets and eventually crystallize, creating the distinct, shimmering appearance of coppernite.”

Enchanted Crystal adds, “In the metaphysical realm, coppernite is seen as a stone of transformation and empowerment. It's believed to have the ability to energize and activate one's personal power, making it a popular choice for those seeking to boost their confidence and self-awareness. Coppernite is also thought to encourage resilience and perseverance, helping its users to navigate challenges with a sense of strength and determination.”

Galena Set

I believe that I’ve received a piece of Galena from Enchanted Crystal in the distant past. But it’s so visually striking that I couldn’t mind less! Interestingly, it does contain lead, so it’s recommended to appreciate it from afar and wash your hands after handling it.

According to the Crystal Library, “Galena is a mineral that holds both historical significance and practical uses. It is a lead sulfide mineral with a metallic luster and a characteristic gray color. Galena has been valued for centuries as a source of lead, as well as a crystal for collectors. From a crystal collector's perspective, galena is appreciated for its cubic crystal habit and metallic luster. The mineral often forms well-defined crystals with distinct cleavage planes. Its presence in mineral collections is sought after for its aesthetic appeal and as a representative specimen of lead minerals.”

Enchanted Crystal adds that, “Metaphysically, galena is said to encourage mindfulness and presence of being. Some believe it to inspire openness as well as centering of spirit. Reminding those who tune into it to appreciate who they are and express their most genuine self.”

Desert Roses (Set)

Finally, my favorite crystals from the September box are a set of three small Desert Roses. I am so taken by these beauties. They have a beautiful fragility; they’re small, light and they sparkle! Photographs really don’t do these lovely specimens justice.

According to the Crystal Library, “Desert roses are captivating crystal formations that resemble roses or flower-like clusters. They are formed through a combination of geological processes involving water, minerals, and wind erosion. Found in arid desert regions, desert roses typically consist of minerals like gypsum or barite. The formation of desert roses begins with the presence of water carrying dissolved minerals. As the water evaporates rapidly in the desert's high temperatures, it leaves behind concentrated mineral solutions. These solutions undergo nucleation, where the minerals solidify and form crystals. Over time, wind erosion exposes and sculpts these crystals, giving them their unique flower-like shape.”

Enchanted Crystal adds, “Metaphysically, desert roses are believed to possess grounding and protective properties. They are often used in meditation and are associated with harmony and spiritual connection specifically to the Earth's energies. Desert roses serve as captivating reminders of the powerful natural processes that shape our world. Their intricate formations and metaphysical qualities make them highly sought after and cherished by those fascinated by the wonders of the Earth.”

Hand-Crafted Cloth Grid

Each month, a new grid design is printed onto a sturdy, hand-sewn cloth with water-based, PVC-free ink. The grid came with a QR code with a link to its backstory along with suggestions on how to best use it.

According to the blog post about September’s grid, “This month's crystal grid is a calming example of minimalism and form. In the center you'll find a variation of the symbol known as "Seed of Life." This symbol is believed to represent creation, the interconnections of life, and often serves as a blueprint for more complex geometric forms and crystal grids, embodying harmony, balance, and unity. The center of which can be used as a location for placing any specific "focus" crystal you wish to emphasize.” If you’re fascinated, there is more information on this unique grid in their blog post. I’m so happy that Enchanted Crystal explains each grid. I now have an understanding of their design, the significance behind them as well as how to use them effectively. Thanks to the recent blog posts, I’ve learned that these aren’t just pretty designs on a piece of fabric, the symbols are a link to the history of humankind.

The Verdict

September’s variety box from Enchanted Crystal was fantastic. There was such a great mix of beautiful, unusual and metaphysically powerful stones. It’s impossible not to fall in love with the desert roses. I keep them close; they are displayed where I can see them from almost anywhere in my bedroom. The galena is also very beautiful. It has such a lovely luster and shine; it’s on permanent display with my favorites. The fluorite palm stone was also such a nice addition; my sister tells me that she carries it in her pocket and uses it to relieve stress. The ruby hexagon was also a wonderful surprise because it’s such a popular, revered and valuable gemstone!

I also continue to be impressed by the Crystal Library that Enchanted Crystal created and continues to update. The crystals themselves are beautiful, but the story behind them is equally fascinating. As is the explanation of the monthly grid. The more I learn about grids and crystals, the more I realize that I still have a lot to learn and I’m so excited for the journey.

Though I’m still not a firm believer in all of the metaphysical powers attributed to crystals, I really do enjoy admiring and studying them. I love learning about how they’re formed within the Earth, their historical significance and how they’re currently used throughout the world.

I’m always excited to check my mail and see a new box from Enchanted Crystal!

Jean

I love the Enchanted Crystal review. I have a question. Every mo. some stones have the white man made markings on them. Might be a circle or line, some both. Why? Do the stones come that way, as if marked for a certain reason (maybe for this sub.). I have always wondered, actually kind of bugs me lol. I hope you can answer this please.

Hi! Thanks for commenting, Jean!

I’m not entirely sure what you mean by “white, man-made marking.” They don’t come with marks and I don’t put any on them, I think it must be my terrible photography! For instance, if you mean the round mark on the green fluorite palm stone, that’s the reflection of the ring of lights from the light box that I use to photograph them. Some stones have that because they’re very shiny & reflective. The non shiny stones don’t show they reflection so badly.

I need to up my photography game!!

Thanks for reading!
