First Impressions

In Minnesota, we have a variety of weather and seasons, and while slushy roads aren't my favorite, the whole aura December gives is. Christmas is my jam through and through, and as soon as November 1st hits, I have my multiple trees up and the N*Sync holiday CD blaring! Cozy ambiance is what I look for on cold December evenings, and to help create that, this month's Vellabox arrived on my doorstep! If a soft flicker of candle light paired with amazing scents is something you enjoy, I highly recommend this subscription. And with a surprise gift and a curated Spotify playlist included, it’s more than just a box—it’s a whole experience!
What's Inside the Box
O'SOY "Evergreen Forest" - Retail Value $38.00
I say it time and time again, but Vellabox is definitely one of my favorite subscriptions. I used to buy big store candles and within a week they were burnt down and our furnace filter was black. As soon as I swapped out those toxic candles for Vellabox's clean ones, my life changed. Not only did I go through a lot less wax, but our furnace filter hasn't been nearly as dirty and the fantastic scents they offer are ones my husband doesn't find overpowering or irritating. This month's candle incorporated all things Christmas with the "Evergreen Forest" scent. While I didn't personally choose this scent, it was chosen for me based off of my preference profile and I couldn't be happier! I LOVE woodsy candles, and this one was absolutely perfect. Thanksgiving weekend we added our "real tree" to our plethora of fake ones, and the spruce scent is one of my favorite parts of the holiday. This candle features those same crisp notes of fir blended with cypress and cedar wood, for a real, frosty forest aroma. The scent throw for this candle wafted throughout our downstairs perfectly without becoming overbearing. I appreciated the simplistic design and brown jar, as it adds to my rustic farmhouse Christmas without even trying. Made with soy wax and premium fragrance oils, this 16 ounce candle has a burn time of about 80 hours and lasts throughout the entire month with daily use. I absolutely love it!
This month's candle was created by O'Soy, a Californian company founded in 2009 by Justine Drake. A one-woman show, this girl does everything from development and production to social media and shipping. All of her candles are "clean" with no Prop 65 chemicals, phthalates, or carcinogens. She truly is amazing!

Vella & Co. Playing Cards - Retail Value $14
I love a family game night, and with the longer evenings, Cribbage is pretty high on our priority list. We started playing this game when we first got married in 2007, and my husband has taught me all of his tricks, leading to our score board being pretty equal! The deck of cards we have been using is pretty tattered, so this was a great replacement! With pretty artwork on the aces, the font on the cards is very sophisticated, as is the gold foil on the box. I'm happy to add these to our cribbage set and appreciate the functional item!

Vellabox is a fabulous subscription, and one I look forward to receiving each and every month. Because I burn candles almost every single day, I like natural ones that are free of chemicals. Since starting this subscription, I have stopped burning big-box store candles, and have replaced them with these, which has made a huge impact on our furnace filter! The combination of the woodsy candle, pretty playing cards, and Spotify playlist continues to leave me impressed. I already can't wait to see what's in store for January!
