Full Contents for Birchbox January 2025

Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that sends samples (and sometimes full sizes) of new and exciting beauty products from top brands. Despite being out of the game for a minute, the subscription is back! Birchbox is one of the original beauty subscription boxes and is a great way to discover new makeup, hair care, and skincare products (four to six items every month) without breaking the bank.

This is one of our top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box — the value and sample sizes are amazing. Just like Ipsy, Birchbox sends out many different variations of their bag each month — so my review is just one of the bag variations you might receive!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes).

First Impressions

This month's box didn't come with a card, but I was so pleased with what I saw inside the moment I opened up the box that I didn't even notice!

Now, on to the items!

BYROE NEW YORK Tofu Gel Cream, 7 ml - Estimated Value $11.90

Front of Byroe New York Gel Cream for Birchbox January 2025

For anyone in search of lightweight hydration, this Tofu Gel Cream from Byroe New York is an absolute dream. The gel texture feels incredibly refreshing and absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving any greasy residue behind, making it perfect for everyday use. I love how it keeps my skin moisturized without clogging pores, which is a big win for me. Enriched with tofu extract and amino acids, it helps improve skin texture and supports hydration, leaving my face feeling soft, smooth, and balanced. It’s the kind of moisturizer that works beautifully on its own or as a base under makeup. An easy new favorite of mine!

TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL All-in-One Egg Mellow Cream, 15 ml - Estimated Value $10.80

Front of Too Cool for School Egg Mellow Cream for Birchbox January 2025

I’m a big fan of Too Cool for School’s All-in-One Egg Mellow Cream; it’s been a reliable favorite for me through the years, and it never disappoints. The texture is wonderfully smooth to the touch and super lightweight on the face, absorbing quickly into the skin without leaving behind any greasy residue. I love how versatile it is as a product. It works as a firming moisturizer, serum, and even a primer; great for streamlining my skincare routine in a pinch. My skin always feels soft, hydrated, and calm after using it, with a noticeable boost in smoothness. It’s one of those products I’m always happy to see in a box!

KORRES Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Probiotic Gel-Cream, 20 ml - Retail Value $8.00

Front of Korres Greek Yoghurt Gel-Cream for Birchbox January 2025

Korres is one of those nice staple brands, and their Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Probiotic Gel-Cream has been a game-changer for my routine. As someone whose pores tend to clog easily, I really appreciate its lightweight gel-cream texture that delivers hydration without any heaviness or greasiness. Enriched with Greek yogurt and probiotics, it helps to soothe and balance the skin while providing long-lasting nourishment. I’ve always loved the high quality of Korres products, and this one is no exception; luxurious and refreshing, leaving my skin soft, calm, and perfectly hydrated. It’s a great pick for anyone looking for a lightweight moisturizer that doesn’t sacrifice on effectiveness!

LAVANILA The Healthy Deoderant in Pure Vanilla, 25 g - Retail Value $8.00

Front of The Healthy Deodorant Pure Vanilla for Birchbox January 2025

Wow, I am quite impressed with this Pure Vanilla Mini deodorant from the Lavanila brand! It’s a standout in the world of all-natural deodorant options. I love that it’s aluminum-free, which is always a must for me, and the formula actually works to combat underarm odor (something that’s often hit-or-miss with natural deodorants I’ve tried in the past). The Pure Vanilla scent is nice and soothing, giving me spa-like vibes for sure. With its gentle, non-irritating formula, it’s perfect for sensitive skin and leaves me feeling fresh and confident all day. A true winner for me.

AROMATHERAPY ASSOCIATES Revive Morning Bath and Shower Oil, 9 ml - Retail Value $21.00

Front of Aromatherapy Associates Body OIl for Birchbox January 2025

When it comes to my post-shower moisturization routine, body oil is everything. I like to slather it onto my body the moment I step out of the shower, and body oil (as opposed to lotions, creams, etc.) seems to be the only thing that works to keep my skin feeling smooth all day long. Now, as someone sensitive to fragrances, my preference is always unscented products, so I’m not a huge fan of the oil’s aroma. With notes of juniper berry, rosemary, and grapefruit essential oils, the initial onslaught of the scent is a bit potent. But I actually found the lingering scent to be mostly non-intrusive. What I love most, though, is how smooth and silky to the touch this oil leaves my skin. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t give that greasy feeling. I’d definitely prefer this oil if it were without any fragrance, but regardless, it makes me feel like I’m cloaked in luxury from head to toe.

VERB Volume Dry Texture Spray, 142 g - Retail Value $20.00

Front of Verb Volume Texture Dry Spray for Birchbox January 2025

The Verb Volume Dry Texture Spray is a great product, though not one I personally can use, as my thick, curly hair has all the volume I can handle. That said, I’m passing this along to a finer-haired friend, and it’s been a total game-changer for them! It adds that perfectly fluffy, voluminous lift without weighing the hair down or leaving it sticky. The lightweight formula also helps create texture and hold, making it ideal for styling or just adding a little oomph to limp hair. My friend even mentioned it gives them the kind of volume they haven’t had since their hairspray days; clearly sounds like a winner for finer hair types looking for long-lasting lift!

The Verdict

This month's Birchbox was packed with some real standouts! My favorite new product was Byroe New York’s gel cream, which has quickly become a favorite with its lightweight, hydrating formula that absorbs effortlessly without clogging pores; a great pick for everyday use. Another highlight was Too Cool for School’s cream, a multitasking gem I’ve loved for years, offering hydrating, firming, and priming in one silky, non-greasy product. Now, Lavanila’s pure vanilla The Healthy Deoderant was a surprising win; its aluminum-free formula actually works to combat odor, while the soothing vanilla scent feels like a calming aromatherapy moment. Korres’ greek yoghurt gel-cream was also a game-changer with a gel-cream texture ideal for keeping my skin hydrated and balanced without any heaviness. The bath and shower oil from Aromatherapy Associates was a luxurious addition to this month’s box, leaving my skin smooth and silky without feeling greasy, though I’d prefer it without the strong initial scent. Lastly, Verb’s dry texture spray, at its generous size, found a happy home with my finer-haired friend, who raved about the instant lift and texture it gave their hair without weighing it down. Overall, I thought this box had a thoughtful mix of skincare, haircare, and body care, making it a strong start to the year; plus, the value is there!
