The February 2025 Box
As a beauty enthusiast, I have been a subscriber to a slew of make-up boxes. But Medusa's Make-Up is still pretty new to me. When the opportunity to review this box arose, I jumped at the chance, and couldn't wait to see what it was all about. After my first box, I became obsessed - so what does February's box have in store?! Read below to find out!
Packaged in a pretty pink foil mailer, it was love at first sight! Adorned with sweet script and adorable make-up clip art, this subscription is already one of my faves! (And check out this cute clear bubble bag - I love these things for travel!!)
To start off the box, we received an info card that details the contents of the box, along with their retail values. This card was created in all of my favorite colors and has a theme of "Self Care Club" which is perfect for February!
Medusa's Sweet Cheeks - Retail Value $14.00
Blush is an item I use daily, but as I get older I find myself using less and less. Typically I wear more rosy pink tones, but was willing to give this more golden peach a try. Contained in a large rectangular pan, this shimmery blush goes on easily and is quite pigmented. Not only is the blush itself pretty, but the packaging was really cute too - who doesn't love an ice cream with sprinkles design?!
Here you can see a photo of how this blush looks on my skin without any foundation. Instead of creating a pinkish glow, it has more of an orange tone. While pretty, this didn't work as well with my winter skin tone as I feel it would with a more sun kissed tone. I think perhaps that I will put it aside for sunnier months!
Medusa's Liquid Eyeshadow - Listed Value $14.00
Eyeshadow is one of my favorite makeup items, and this one was a lot more fun than items I typically buy! Cased in a square tube, this liquid eyeshadow came in the prettiest purple color. Featuring a wand and screw top cap, this eyeshadow applies easily but doesn't have the color payout I was hoping for.
I suppose for day to day wear I am happy that this eyeshadow is more muted than I was expecting, but I was actually hoping for a deeper, more pigmented hue. It does give me a hope for spring and I do like the light pastel look, so it was a welcomed item!
Medusa's Mystical Eye Dust – Listed Value $14.00
Like I mentioned above, I do enjoy eyeshadow, so I was thrilled to receive this beautiful mystical eye dust. I love a smokey eye, and this dust is really pigmented! With flecks of gold glitter, this black dust sprinkles out of the pot into the lid easily and blends out really well.
While I didn't get a photo of my entire smokey eye look with this eye dust, I did get a photo of it covering my lid. The photo just doesn't do the beauty justice, but you can see the pewter black base with flecks of glitter. I am obsessed!!
Mini Tinted Lip Oil – Listed Value $9.00
Lip gloss and oils are something I use all of the time, so to receive another tube was great, especially with Valentine's Day coming up! Complete with a bow on the tube, this red oil has a typical consistency of a lip oil and was a fun inclusion.
Though the oil looks deeper red when swatched, when applied it turned my lips more of a pink tone than actual red, and I'm 100% okay with that! Great for daily wear, I am obsessed with this product!
I Heart Me Lip Gloss – Listed Value $14
The last item I received was another lip gloss, though this one was a lot more pigmented than a typical gloss. Packaged in an adorable heart shaped container, this is pretty much the cutest gloss I have ever laid eyes on! With a metallic pink color, this was a great inclusion for a February box and has the prettiest shimmer!
I had my doubts about this gloss at first, but it really turned out to be amazing! With a pinkish red base and gold shimmer, this is perfect for a Valentine's Day date night! ❤️
The Verdict
This month's curation of Medusa's Make-Up was ultra color packed and didn't disappoint! With a great variety of lip, eye, and face makeup items, this month's curation was great and featured colors I wouldn't necessarily purchase on my own, but ended up really enjoying.
