The January 2025 Box
As a beauty enthusiast, I have been a subscriber to a slew of make-up boxes. But Medusa's Make-Up is still pretty new to me. When the opportunity to review this box arose, I jumped at the chance, and couldn't wait to see what it was all about. After my first box, I became obsessed - so what does January's box have in store?! Read below to find out!
Packaged in a pretty pink foil mailer, it was love at first sight! Adorned with sweet script and adorable make-up clip art, this subscription is already one of my faves! (And check out this cute clear bubble bag - I love these things for travel!!)
To start off the box, we received an info card that details the contents of the box, along with their retail values. This card was created in all of my favorite colors and is a great way to start off the New Year! 2025 here we go!
Medusa's Shimmer Loose Shadow - Retail Value $14.00
Since I was first introduced to make-up in 2000, glitter has been a staple in my toiletry bag, though at 36, I tend to wear it a lot more strategically than when I was in my teens. I have been crossing my fingers for a loose glitter after scouring through the Medusa's Makeup website, and I finally received one! Blue in color, I was hoping for a more neutral tone, but as my grandma used to say: "beggars can't be choosers." While the blue coloring is quite strong in the pot, when applied, it has a silvery sheen that doesn't look the aquamarine color is actually is. So far, I have applied it to my lids on Christmas for an extra glittery look, as well as to my neck for a fun sparkly appearance when we went out for dinner.
Very hard to photograph, I didn't get a great picture of this sparkly magnificence, but I did really enjoy this inclusion!
Love Mini Lipstick - Listed Value $8.00
Lipstick is definitely an item I tend to wear a lot of in the fall and winter months, so I was excited to see this mini version included in this month's curation. This tiny matte formula had great coverage and stayed on well, but the nude color just didn't go well with my winter skin tone. I prefer reds, burgundies, and plums, but will give this another try with my summer glow to see if the results are a little better.
Medusa's Halo Glow - Bubbly – Listed Value $12.00
Blush is an item I use daily, but in the winter I tend to use it a little more sparingly than in summer. My skin is pretty fair, and I was a little worried about the vibrant pink this halo glow blush would provide, but ended up loving it. With a small swatch on the apple of each cheek, I was left with a natural pink glow. The formula worked well on top of my foundation, and the results lasted throughout the day. Mixed with a slight bit of highlighter, I think this stick is my new fave!
Medusa's Baked Eyeshadow - Brunch – Listed Value $14.00
Neutral eyeshadows are my favorite for my eyelids and I am obsessed with this shimmery eyeshadow pan! Great for daily wear, this beige shadow is soooo pretty and extremely flattering. This large pan is going to last me a really long time, and I am really thankful because I have switched this out for my routine eyeshadow. Even my husband commented on how pretty this shadow is, and he usually doesn't notice things like that!
Love Byrd Tinted Lip Balm - Kiss – Listed Value $9
Like I mentioned above, I love me some lipstick. This tinted lip balm is not created by Medusa's Makeup but instead by Love Byrd, which I was unfamiliar with. The thick stick has a beautiful burgundy color and glides on very nice and smooth. The only thing I don't appreciate about this stick is the fact it has a very waxy scent. While it doesn't have that sort of texture, it smells almost identical to a crayon. Weird!
Besides the smell, I do love this lip balm. It goes on easily and has just enough pigment to color my lips without getting all over my face and teeth, which I always appreciate. While not as dark as the stick itself depicts, it does give an ample autumn red to my lips and goes nicely with a simple swipe of eyeliner and mascara.
Carla Secret Tinted Lip Gloss – Listed Value $12
The last item I received was yet another lip product. This particular item was an extremely highly pigmented gloss that is absolutely gorgeous. Though it looks like a deep pink in the tube, it has an almost red hue that has been perfect for the holiday season. While glosses tend to be a bit on the messy side, this dried pretty well and had great staying power. I am definitely a fan!
Christmas #1 was at my house and here my mom and I were finishing things up in the kitchen. The Carla Secret gloss was a great addition to my holiday look and matched the trim on my grandma's old apron perfectly! Love it!
The Verdict
This month's curation of Medusa's Make-Up was extremely lip product heavy, but overall fun. As I mentioned above, I do wear a lot of lip products this time of year, so it was fitting, but I'd like to see more variety next month. I was pleasantly surprised to find the pot of glitter, and found that the perfect inclusion for a New Year's box. Overall, I enjoyed all of this month's contents and am looking forward to the February box! What was your favorite item in this month's bag? Let me know in the comments below.

To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? You'll likely receive the February box. Some past boxes are also available for a one-time purchase here.
Value Breakdown: I estimate I received $69.00 worth of items this month, which is more than three times the cost of the box! That's definitely a good value for $22.95!
