First Impressions

This month’s box is the Black Radiance X Cross Colours Takeover Box, and the design is absolutely on point! The bold #beautywithoutprejudice message along the box’s edge adds a powerful touch, while the throwback stereo design is bringing pure nostalgia with its old-school hip-hop vibes.

A nice assortment of shades, all of which are bold and vibrant, featuring a mix of rich mattes and shimmers that allow for endless creativity. The formula itself is smooth to the touch and blends easily, making it effortless to build up the color intensity without any patchiness. I appreciate how pigmented each shade is; you can achieve a rich, eye-catching color payoff quickly, whether you’re going for a subtle pop or a full-on bold look for a night out. This palette is a standout addition to any makeup lover’s collection.

What a fun addition to this month’s assortment! This Black Radiance X Cross Colours Mic Drop Mascara in Check 1 Black has adorable microphone-shaped packaging, and it is everything. The design ties in perfectly with the music theme and makes the mascara feel extra special. While mascara isn’t something I reach for daily, I’m happy to have this in my arsenal because the formula delivers highly on volume and length. It’s super buildable, allowing for a natural, fluttery lash or a bold, dramatic look without any clumping or flaking. The deep black pigment is intense, perfect for adding definition and drama, especially for a night out. I appreciate how full and well-designed the brush is, ensuring each lash gets evenly coated while keeping them separated. I also noticed minimal smudging, which is a huge bonus. Overall, this is a solid, volumizing mascara that performs well – and the packaging alone is a real stunner.

While I’m not the biggest fan of liquid lipsticks, this formula feels smoother and more comfortable than many others I’ve tried in the past. The pigmentation of the product is incredible, delivering an intense, eye-catching pink in just one swipe, and the metallic finish adds an extra layer of dimension and shine that’ll turn heads. I like how easily the formula applies, and it dries down nicely without feeling overly drying or sticky, which is a huge plus. This collection really leans into vibrant, unapologetic color, and this shade fits right in.

Lastly, we have these two Lipstick Remix products from Black Radiance X Cross Colours. This particular shade, Gimme A Beat, is another bold and unique lip addition to this box. While I personally lean more toward skincare, this box is a dream for anyone who loves experimenting with vibrant, rich shades. The formula is creamy and smooth, gliding on effortlessly for a comfortable, hydrating wear. What makes this lipstick stand out is its marbleized design, which blends shimmer and pigment beautifully, giving the lips a multi-dimensional, glossy finish. The color payoff is strong, delivering rich pigmentation with just one swipe. If you love switching up your lip game, this one’s a winner.

Verdict

This was a solid month for Cocotique! The box itself was packed with bold, vibrant makeup that perfectly captured the energy of this fabulous collab. If you’re into lip products, then this box is for you. The two metallic liquid lips in Fresh Drip Pink and Vixen bring intense color payoff and a smooth, comfortable formula that dries down beautifully without feeling too dry or sticky. Next up are the two regular lipstick shades, Gimme A Beat and 3 Divas, both of which feature a stunning marbleized design that blends shimmer and pigment for a multidimensional effect; great for making a statement. With its cassette tape-inspired packaging and ultra-pigmented shades, the eyeshadow palette was a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern beauty. The face and eye palette leaned further into creativity with its rich primary colors, great for the adventurous makeup artists out there. Lastly, the microphone-shaped packaging of the mascara was a total win for the music theme. Buildable volume and definition, plus eye-catching packaging = the best of both worlds. Overall, while I personally lean more toward skincare in my preferences, I thought it was a great box—but if you’re a fan of bold beauty, this box is everything.
