Do you guys notice anything about my first impressions photos?! We got a surprise!! I was a little stumped when I received this month's Vellabox as the box was more than double the usual size. Tucked inside this rectangular box was the usual square box, but also a bright little yellow package as well! Turns out, it's Vellabox's 10th anniversary and they are celebrating by sending 50 people extra goodies!! Cozy ambiance is a necessity for me after a long day, and Vellabox definitely delivers! If a soft flicker of candle light paired with amazing scents is something you enjoy, (along with the chance to win prizes!) I highly recommend this subscription. And with a surprise gift and a curated Spotify playlist included, it’s more than just a box—it’s a whole experience!
What's Inside the Box
Unbound Glo "Polaroids" Candle - Retail Value $38.00
Candles are definitely a way of life for me, and the ones that are made from soy wax in small batches are where its at. I have struggled with anxiety for about 7 years now, and journaling, candle ambiance, aromatherapy, and hot baths are really what have gotten me through. Prior to my Vellabox subscription, I was burning cheap candles that left our ceiling black with soot. Since swapping those out for these clean versions, my life has changed! Not only is our furnace filter cleaner, but so are our ceilings. This month's candle incorporates all things spring and gives a mental escape from winter chill to coastal serenity. With notes of salty sea mist, warm sand, lemon zest, creamy coconut, and cedarwood, this has truly transported me to the cottage by the sea I am reading about in Debbie Macomber's Cottage by the Sea book. I appreciate the simplistic design of the label and jar, and am impressed with the 80 hour burn time. Big box brands this size typically only lasted me a week, while these hand poured soy versions last more than the entire month with the same amount of burns! Polaroids is a fantastic jumpstart to spring and now has me dreaming of flowers and butterflies as we head into our next snow storm.
This month's candle was created by Unbound Glo candle company. This company was created to evoke slow living, good smells, and good moods. Based out of Wausau, WI, they create candles using natural, biodegradable, toxic-free wicks, USA produced soy wax, planted-based, safe fragrances, USA made jars, and biodegradable packing. Each candle is hand poured and packaged in the midwest. And not only do they sell candles, but room and linen sprays as well!
Now for the secret item!
Checkered Photo Holder - Retail Value $10
It seems only fitting that the bonus item should encompass polaroid photos somehow when that was the title of this month's candle. Here we received a 3" X 3" square housing four smaller squares with a slight divide between them to hold a photo. I happened to have one polaroid type photo we took last year and slide it into the divide. I think this would work well with any photo, but the white edging of a polaroid looked best. I love displaying photos in my home and utilize frames a lot, so this was a fun little inclusion that is a little more unique and different than a typical frame.

This month I happened to be a lucky winner and took home a 4 oz "1980 Orange" candle created by Unbound Glo! This cute hand-poured candle features notes of orange zest, chili pepper, charred wood, and vanilla, and has the most lovely, organic orange scent I have ever experienced. Yummy!

Vellabox is a fabulous subscription, and one I look forward to receiving each and every month. Because I burn candles almost everyday, I must utilize ones that are free of toxins and harmful ingredients. Vellabox does a fabulous job at choosing small brands that not only are safe to use, but smell amazing too! This month's seaside deliciousness was one of my favorite candles and truly helped transport my mind to the ocean and the photo holder was just plain cute. Add the Spotify playlist and the bonus candle and my month was made complete! I already can't wait to see what's in store for March! Happy Birthday, Vellabox!
