What's Inside The Box
NOVICA took me on a trip to the Andes this quarter and I received a mix of items from Peru and Colombia. Let's see what was inside my box!
Quick note: I actually received this box a few months ago! Let's just say life got a bit crazy, but I'm finally back on track with my reviews. Thank you for your patience. 🙂
Red Natural Fiber Decorative Bowl with Geometric Motifs, "Guacamayas Summer" by Omaira Manrique (Retail Value: $66.95)
I thought this was a fun item to kick off this quarter's box! I love this decorative bowl's vibrant colors and can see myself displaying it year-round in my home. It's made with cabuya and reed grass fibers and weighs just shy of a pound.
I haven't decided what this bowl's main purpose will be yet. Perhaps I'll use it in my kitchen for holding fresh fruit from our local farmer's market for the time being.
I defintiely think my toddler will "borrow" it to stash her toys in soon enough though...
Ceramic Star Ornaments With Hand-Painted Flowers (Set of 6), "Ayacucho Flowered Stars" by Zoila Davila (Retail Value: $60.95)
Up next was this adorable set of ceramic star ornaments! I ended up gifting them to my mom for Christmas and she loved them. Just like the previous item, I appreciated their vibrance and cheerful demeanor.
While playful, you definitely wouldn't want to keep these in close reach to little hands. To be safe, we placed them in the upper-middle section of my mom's tree—far away from both the grandkids and the cat.
Geometric Handcrafted Colorful Coin Purse from Colombia, "Colombian Mountains" and Sun-Themed Handcrafted Orange Coin Purse from Colombia, "La Guajira Sun" by Lorette Menjura (Retail Value: $46.95 each)
I can't remember the last time I actually purchased a coin purse, so this was a nice surprise to come across. Each one featured a zippered closure, a braided strap, a cute pompom, and a polyester lining.
I always save my spare change for my husband, so I'll probably keep one in each of our cars. That is until my two-year-old daughter finds them and repurposes them.
Hand Crafted Geometric Jasper Sphere Sculpture, "Inner Peace" by Cesar Gonzales (Retail Value: $59.95)
Last but not least was this gorgeous jasper sphere set on top of a calcite base. This wouldn't be an item that I'd normally purchase, however, I think it will look beautiful just about anywhere. It's quite hefty, sitting at around 1.5 lbs.
Jasper is said to attract calmness and peace. Well, this mom certainly needs that, ha! I'll keep it in our shared office for my husband and me to gaze at throughout the workday.
Value
The retail value of the combined items is $281.95. Considering that you only pay $59.99 per box, this is an insane deal. And, of course, the value that I got from having someone curate household items for me is priceless.
The Verdict
This quarter delivered items I wouldn't normally purchase for myself, which makes the experience even more fun. Out of all the items, I think I'll get the most use of the decorative bowl. I also really enjoyed gifting the ceramic stars to my mom for Christmas.
I'm looking forward to the Spring Box next!
