First Impressions
The monthly Beauty Heroes delivery comes in a white box with a red-dotted sticker sealing it. Inside, our products of the month fit perfectly and are well-protected.
This month's Beauty Heroes hero is oh-so-heroic. The SuperSEA Firming and Lifting Serum is pure blissful science tucked into an understated bottle. It's supported by two solid sidekicks that hold their own. Regular Beauty Heroes subscribers have met True Botanicals before—in March 2024 and then July 2023 before that—and I love continuing our way through a line we've come to know and love through this box.
If you still have some of last year's True Botanicals products on hand, you could work them into a fuller routine with what we were sent this month.
The Products
SuperSEA Firming and Lifting Treatment, 1 oz - Retail Value $188
I went for it with using this serum before I fully understood what it was. I saw that the One Way to Play card suggested applying it after cleansing, and you could layer over it too if you want, so that's what I did. I had just come out of the shower where I used October's Josh Rosebrook balm cleanser (the tube is great for using in the shower, I've learned!), slathered some of this serum on my face, neck, and chest, and topped it with November's Alpyn Beauty Melt Moisturizer, which is nice and light for layering.
All I can say is I walked out of my bathroom smelling like an edge-of-the-woods nature dream and feeling like I'd just had my face painted by dew from a fairy queen. I was floating. I back-tracked and peeked in the bathroom mirror and it clicked: those editorial faces that are somehow glossy without being gross-shiny are being cared for by skincare products of this caliber.
As it turns out, a "silky, dewy, sensorial cream-oil treatment" is exactly how this serum is described, which is so accurate. It's potently firming and lifting by way of high vitamin and amino acid content; it's replenishing thanks to seed oils that amp up fatty acids; it's deeply hydrating and plumping thanks to green algae and seaweed from the Baltic Sea. Like, wow. Yes. This is the good stuff I want in my life.
Chebula Multi-Corrective Eye Patches, 25 sets - Retail Value $75
Tucked in this glass jar are 25 sets of under-eye patches: "Harnessing the power of chebula, a bioactive and potent antioxidant, these patches optimize your skin’s natural collagen levels." You'll apply them to clean skin for 10-15 minutes, then dissolve them off with warm water. They're biodegradable!
That first photo is a little awkward, but I wanted to try and showcase how thin these patches are. Swipe over and you can see that they cover way more ground than just the under-eye. I have a small head, but they cover most of my cheeks. Be gentle with them, as they're finer than most under-eye patches and could tear. When the 10-15 minutes of wear is up, they truly are ready to biodegrade. I love seeing this claim in action!
Pure Radiance Overnight Lip Treatment, 0.3 oz - Retail Value $32
This glossy lip treatment is thick and sticky, but it settles into the lips (and mine are unbelievably dry right now, how about yours?) and gets to work immediately. The goal this product targets is to "nourish and effectively reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles for softer, more supple lips." It's too soon to tell whether that's being achieved for me, but I will say I'm waking up with more hydrated lips, which is grand. It's filled with hydrating plant oils that has an ever-so-subtle tint to it so you can go to bed glam.
It looks like regular lip gloss but with secret superpowers!
Verdict
I'm officially fan-girling about this month's Beauty Heroes delivery. This box costs $58.95. These three March products add up to $295. Umm OKAY! This fantastic value isn't unheard of for this box, but that doesn't make it any less exciting.
