Tired of dealing with leaks, blowouts, and diaper rash? Sounds like you need Coterie! Coterie diapers are ultra-absorbent and are made without added fragrances, dyes, phthalates, and parabens. Their diapers and training pants are sourced from hypoallergenic, apparel-grade materials that undergo thorough third-party and dermatologist testing.

Coterie’s design combines super-soft materials with a proprietary wicking system that maximizes comfort and limits leaks. Plenty of our fellow parents have reported that Coterie diapers fit their babies extremely well, aren’t saggy, and remain dry throughout the night. Choose between their diapers or pants based on your baby or toddler's age, weight, and activity level.

This review is of Coterie's The Pant Size 5 (27-38 lbs).

First Impressions

Ok, so I've had my eye on Coterie for quite some time now. I first heard of them in 2021 right after joining MSA and vowed to try them one day once I had babies. It took me a while to get my act together, but here we are!

After trying the gamut of diaper brands I decided my kids deserved better. So, I put my toddler to the test and had her try out The Pant by Coterie. Here's an up-close look at our experience with Coterie and whether or not it truly was superior compared to our go-to brands.

What's Inside The Box

The Packs

Coterie bases the number of diapers per box according to the average number of changes babies need as they grow. Each box of The Pant contains 4 packs or approximately a one-month supply. Here's the breakdown per size:

  • 3 (14-24 lbs): 144 total count/box (~5 changes/day)
  • 4 (20-32 lbs): 136 total count/box (~5 changes/day)
  • 5 (27-38 lbs): 112 total count/box (~4 changes/day)
  • 6 (33-62 lbs): 92 total count/box (~3 changes/day)

Since we decided to go with size 5 we received 112 total training pants, 28 per pack.

The Pant

As you can see, Coterie values clean diapers and training pants. That means no added fragrance, lotion, latex, rubber, dyes—you name it. They also prioritize comfort and ease of movement, hence the soft, stretchy, personalized fit.

I've been changing diapers for nearly three years now and I have to say that Coterie is by far the most flexible and softest diaper and training pant I've come across. I can't tell you how many diapers I've had to throw away after accidentally ripping off the fastener. Many of the training pant brands we've tried aren't anywhere close to being as soft and several have had this weird slick or plastic-y texture.

But how would Maddie like them, and would they help her claim status as a potty-training princess?

The Fit

Maddie excitedly volunteered to try on her new training pants and she didn't complain one bit (other than refusing to take action shots—sorry, I really did try). The Pant went on easily both ways and she seemed not to notice them during the day other than when she had to pull them down to go potty.

I was able to pull them up and down for vertical changes in the morning or when she realized she had to go potty. I also liked being able to remove them from the side for horizontal changes for the few times we had "uh-ohs" and needed to dispose of them quickly to get clean.

The Pant fit very well underneath her clothes and didn't leave behind a mark on the waist like many other brands do. She also slept in them very comfortably at night and we didn't have to worry about these training pants ballooning up from liquid.

Wins all around for both mom and daughter!

The Verdict

Well, this mom is beyond impressed. Between the clean materials and comfortable wear, I thought these training pants were the best we've tried to date. And while they're certainly more expensive than what you'll find in most stores, I have to say that their function and build make it worth the cost if you're able to afford them.
