The Seasonal Subscription Box from Margot Elena is a quarterly subscription box featuring full-size beauty and lifestyle items. (If you aren't familiar with this brand, it's carried in stores like Anthropologie.)

For $59.99 a quarter + $6.95 shipping (to the contiguous US only), you'll discover the world of All Things Beautiful—this box is filled with over $200 worth of full-sized products curated by the Margot Elena team.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Opening The Box

When it comes to quarterly boxes, springtime comes with so much anticipation. The winter weather tends to linger where I live, so this Margot Elena Subscription Box's sweet colors, lighthearted scents, and heralding of spring's arrival are some of the first signs of the season. Let's see how M.E. is welcoming spring this year.

It's all about dreamy freshness this month, and our folded info card introduces the curation that was chosen to guide us through it.

Here's What's Inside

Lollia Imagine Eau de Parfum, 3.4 fl oz — Retail Value $72

The Margot Elena Subscription Box always includes an eau de parfum in a quality glass bottle with lovely artwork on it; every so often they send one that's absolutely breathtaking like this one. The heavy square bottle, the painted birds and flowers, the square blue cap—they all ring of a dressertop nostalgia that acknowledges the wide-eyed little girl in us all, quietly running her fingertips along the precious belongings of her mother or grandmother or aunt. The scent itself strikes me as more modern, light with breezy florals and an airy brightness that whispers of sunny citrus. It's a splendid first scent of spring.

New! The Cottage Greenhouse Cucumber & Honey Bath Salts, 5 oz — Retail Value $4.50

The Cucumber & Honey scent is nothing new to Margot Elena subscribers, but as with all their aromas, it takes on a slightly different tone depending on whether it's carried through body wash, handcreme, lip balm, et cetera. The cucumber is really noticeable in this scent, which only sometimes works for me. I didn't love it for the lip balm last time it came in a box, but as bath salts it's kind of nice.

This new product comes in a paper envelope that doesn't reseal—bold move for a bath product! The packaging instructs to use 3 heaping spoonfuls per bath, but with no spoon provided, that's rather subjective. I suppose if you're a subscriber like me you could refill an old bath salt container from this box. Otherwise you'll have to get creative.

TokyoMilk Le Petit Handcreme, 2.3 oz — Retail Value $23

Our handcreme of the quarter is this modestly size aluminum tube with the most beautiful springy speckled egg and nest imagery. The scent is blissful. It's described as "a gently opening fragrance: Lily, Peony, Vanilla Bean & Violet Petals," and yes, it's floral, but not devastatingly so. It's light and refreshing and has lovely depth.

Exclusive! M.E. Happy Home Gardening Gloves — Listed Value $22

A little surprise for us: floral gardening gloves! They're sweet and bright, and well-built, with grippy dots all over the inner fingers and palm. The grips extend the whole way around for the thumbs and pointers. They aren't water proof, so they might not serve as your only pair if you're getting serious about gardening this year. They're loose for me, but I also have the smallest hands of any adult I've ever encountered, and I can definitely make them work. Fun!

New! Library of Flowers Mini Small Batch Bubble Bath in True Vanilla, 17 fl oz — Retail Value $22

This new small-batch bubble bath is another one that's rife with sentimentality, like the Imagine perfume bottle. The thick glass jar, simple and timeless label, amber liquid, and cork lid. I'll concede that the cork tops aren't always the most functional until you've used a good bit of the product inside; otherwise the pressure and slippery sides slowly push the cork back out. But it makes for great motivation to dive right into enjoying an aromatic bubble bath without hesitation! This is a wonderfully complex scent, with bergamot, dark vanilla, and amber tucked into "replenishing cocoa butter and skin-pampering green tea." It's glorious. I can't wait to pour it like a loving potion into my daughters' baths.

The Cottage Greenhouse Wild Lavender & Violet Dry Body Oil, 4 fl oz — Retail Value $32

Body oil as a category was a slow burn for me. My fear of it probably rooted from the oily skin of my adolescence. My transition to a dryer, more mature skin type happened gradually enough that it took beauty boxes forcing oils on me to for me to realize they're my skin's everything. This one is thin and absorbent, and I love the lavender and violet combo—it blends a soothing, familiar floral with one that's less common, and together they rise to a nearly fruity, natural scent. The hydration and lasting smell of oils are just the best.

TokyoMilk Good Luck, Blue Birds, and Happy Birthday A Little Late Greeting Cards — Retail Value $5.50 each

Our three greeting cards of the month are for good luck greetings, a belated birthday wish, and a general one decorated with birds. Each is touched with glitter on the front, blank on the inside, and comes with an envelope.

Debut! Archive On Cloud 9 Ceramic Candle, 3 oz — Listed Value $20

Finally, we have an Archive candle in a blue-grey ceramic jar. Its simplicity is so inviting. The scent is the rich, warm, gender-neutral brilliance that always comes out of the Archive line, and in candle form it fills the room with a classy invitation to pour a drink and settle in. I'm so excited to light this one when I have company. And when the candle is gone, I'll wipe it out and store bobby pins in it.

This candle is listed as a "debut" item, which implies to me that it'll be launching on the site soon, but so far subscribers can enjoy it as an exlusive.

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $59.99 + $6.95 shipping to the contiguous United States.

Value Breakdown: Our happy Spring Margot Elena Box is packed with 8 items, counting the 3 greeting cards as a set. They cover bath, body, home, and garden categories, and they're all in colors, scents, and visuals that are airy and elegant for the warming springtime. Using a combination of retail values and listed values, the total value in this box is $212. You get so much in this box, and the value is always outstanding!

My bubble bath scent is “forget me not.” I see that the vanilla sold out on-line and is probably the preferred scent. I would love a vanilla scented bath any time of year.
However, I loved the entire spring garden theme. I have large hands and the gloves are roomy for me. I thought the bath salts in the paper envelope looks like a seed packet, (very clever) and I can transfer the remainder into another container when I open it.
I was very happy with the curation and look forward to the surprises in my next box.
