First Impressions
Like the garden after winter's rest, we too are ready to bloom again. - Vellabox
March is here, and I am so incredibly ready for spring! Living in Minnesota, it feels like we have up to 8 months of winter, so by the middle of March, I'm more than ready to ditch the snow and start gardening. Though it's way too early for that in this climate, I'm happy to daydream about it, and this month’s Vellabox is giving me all the spring vibes! If the soft flicker of candlelight paired with amazing scents gives you that tingly, happy feeling, I highly recommend this subscription. Plus, with a surprise gift and a curated Spotify playlist included, it’s more than just a box—it’s a whole experience!
Oak & Ember "Midnight Garden" Candle - Retail Value $38.00
With a diagnosis of anxiety, I’ve mostly overcome the overwhelming sense of worry. I’ve worked through ways to cope and manage it. I’ve found journaling, prayer, hot baths, aromatherapy, and candles to be extremely helpful. My family knows that once mom lights a candle, it’s time to rest and relax. The soft ambiance it creates in our house brings me a sense of peace, and I absolutely love amazing scents. Vellabox has literally changed my life with its incredible scent offerings. This month’s candle was all about earthy vibes and featured notes of agave, eucalyptus, lavender, moonflower, sage, musk, and amber. It’s a wonderful balance of herbal and floral, and it definitely has me aching for spring. The beautiful floral label adds a cheery touch to my home, and the decadent aroma leaves our dining area smelling amazing. With an 80-hour burn time, this candle lasts much longer than big store-brand versions, and keeps our furnace filter a lot cleaner. I can’t say enough good things about these candles!
This month's candle was created by Oak & Ember, a company that was created by sisters from Illinois. They hand-pour all of their candles and utilize the highest quality coconut apricot wax, crackling wood wick, and luxurious fragrances - free of toxins, parabens, and phthalates and passing the highest standards for safety and purity.

Macrame Coaster - Retail Value $12
While I’ve never tried macrame myself, my mom has, and I love the finished results! This month, our surprise item was a macrame coaster in a gorgeous stormy blue color. With a beautiful fringed edge, it keeps surfaces safe from warm glasses and looks lovely when paired with a candle. To me, blue is a spring color, and I appreciate all the little ways I can incorporate hints of the coming season into my home!

Vellabox is a fabulous subscription, and one I look forward to receiving each and every month. Because I burn candles almost everyday, I must utilize ones that are free of toxins and harmful ingredients. Vellabox does a fabulous job at choosing small brands that not only are safe to use, but smell amazing too! This month's floral mixture was one of my favorite candles and truly helped transport my mind to the upcoming spring season. Add the Spotify playlist and macrame coaster and my month was made complete! I already can't wait to see what's in store for April!
