Wantable Active Edit Review

First Impressions is a series that (re)introduces and reviews new brands to My Subscription Addiction, drawing from readers' requests for an insider's first look. Interested in seeing more reviews from this brand, or have another box in mind that you'd like to see reviewed? Let us know in the comments.

Wantable is a personal styling service for women and men that delivers clothing and accessories based on your style profile. You'll initially pay a $20 styling fee to sign up for your first (or next) clothing box. Women can choose to receive items from StyleActive, and/or Sleep & Body. Men, on the other hand, have access to items from Men's Active Edit.

Each box includes seven items to try on from home. You'll have a week to decide what's right for you, or you can request a one-time extension of three days. The styling fee will be applied to any purchase made from your “Edit” and you'll receive 20% off your entire order if you keep five items.

This is one of today's best personal styling services for revamping your entire wardrobe!

This review is of Wantable Active Edit. Wantable also offers Style Edit, Sleep & Body, and Men's Active Edit.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes).

Picking Up from Last Time...

After scoring a wardrobe win with Style Edit, I decided it would be fun to try Active Edit next! In case you haven't read my first Wantable review yet, I'll quickly get you up to speed.

I'm a mom who's roughly a year postpartum with my second child and in serious need of non-maternity clothing. However, I wasn't sure what would look best on me in this current season as I'm in between sizes and most clothing fits awkwardly. Lucky for me, Wantable offered their help! I was gifted $500 in credits and could use them toward any combination of items from their Edits.

I just used $99 toward Style Edit so it's time to get more selective about what I buy. Does that mean I stick to buying only one item per Edit? Or will I keep trying out new boxes until I land one with at least five items that work?

Only time will tell! But for now, let's see what my latest box had in store.

How this Wantable Review Series Will Work

My Wantable reviews will follow a slightly different format than our standard recurring reviews for personal styling services. Here's what to expect:

  • I'll try out each of Wantable's Edits for women, one box per review.
  • I'll only show myself wearing the items I loved (or liked)—same as if I were shopping in person with friends or family.
  • I'll then show what the other items looked like, just not on me.
  • I'll continue getting restyled and reviewing new boxes until I use all of my credits.

My Wantable Active Edit Review

What I Loved

Flex Flat Front Jogger in Light Athletic Heather (L) - $78

Oh my goodness—I've officially tried the most comfortable pair of joggers ever! While these felt like a cross between sweats and training pants, I'd totally wear them on the go or to lounge around in. I appreciated the thicker waistband without ties for improved comfort and ease of movement.

My only critique? The price point was roughly $25-$30 more than what I normally pay for joggers.

What I Liked

Flex Fleece V-Neck Top in White (XL) - $79

This top was one of the softest I've tried in a while. I really liked that it fit loosely in the lower half and seemed to flow. I usually wouldn't pay this price when shopping for tops, that fabric though...

Lewis Shirt in Forest Heather (XL) - $66

If you read my first review of Wantable Style, you've probably realized that I love green in just about any shade. When I saw this top I fell in love with its business casual, yet sporty appeal. It was nearly perfect, but a bit tight in the chest and lower torso.

What Didn't Work

Sparkle Open Back Hacci Top in Teal by Interval (XL) - $69

Contrary to some of the other tops I've tried, this fit best towards the bottom and worst at the top. It was flowy and comfortable in the torso, but felt tight in the shoulders. I originally added this from the Stream as it looked like a great top to warm up in while lifting. Too bad this one didn't work as I really liked the color and overall look.

Ignite Lightweight Spacedye Classic Tee in Heather by Interval (XL) - $59

I know it's just the style, but this felt like a shrunken shirt when wearing it. While I liked the lightweight fabric, this shirt clung too tightly to my shoulders and torso.

Socialite Skirt in Black Oatmilk/Almond Contrast by Glyder (XL) - $68

I've never worn an athletic skirt like this before so I figured I'd give it a try for fun. After all, it looked adorable online. Unfortunately, it rode up my legs and was way too revealing.

Highland Spacedye Jogger in Heather Charcoal by Interval (L) - $98

I loved the color and fit, but the price tag? Not so much! This is around twice the price I normally pay for joggers.

So, Did Wantable Active Edit Woo Me?

Here's the thing—there were several items from my first Wantable Active Edit box that totally rocked. However, since I'm trying to use my remaining credits as wisely as possible, I decided to not keep any items this time.

It was hard saying goodbye to the most comfortable joggers of all time, but if they ever go on sale you bet I'll buy them right away! And eventually when I drop another size I'll retry the Lewis Shirt by Thread & Supply and stock up on a few different colors if it fits better.

And just like the first time, I thought my stylist did an amazing job selecting items that fit both my style preferences and sizes. This can be a tough thing to do considering I fall right in between standard and plus sizing and shy away from a lot of popular styles.

Despite not keeping any items, my daughter and I enjoyed taking more photos together and making memories along the way. And, to make things even better, Wantable offered a "restyle" box which involved waiving the styling fee. Now that's what I call excellent customer service!

To get the full Wantable experience I'll also be trying out Sleep & Body Edit and revisiting both Style Edit, and Active Edit Stay tuned for my continued shopping spree journey with Wantable-I can't wait to see what they send me next!

PS - I've still got $401 credits left to use and my goal is to score at least 4 more items.
