Love Goodly is a non-toxic and cruelty-free vegan subscription box that sends a mix of 4-5 full-size beautywellness, and lifestyle items every other month for $34.95 (with free shipping). They also offer a VIP subscription for $48.95, which comes with an additional full-size product (or two). Every purchase supports a different cause each month.

This review is for the VIP subscription for $48.95 every other month.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Note to Canadian Customers: "As of October 28, 2022: At this time, we have paused shipping our bi-monthly subscription boxes and prepaid box plans to Canada; however, you can still purchase the Single Essential or Single VIP Box to ship to Canada. Current active Canada customers are not affected."

Inside the April/May 2025 Box

Who doesn't love a springtime box? Almost anything can come inside and it'll feel fresh and perfect for spring. I've been subscribed to Love Goodly long enough that they have my full trust, and in fact I feel they've been on fire lately. Anyone else noticing this?

Subscribers are used to receiving a few cards with info about the box, the charitable component, and the rewards program. This month Love Goodly is experimenting with paring down the paper, and they've included a QR code to provide information about the products. If you would rather take a look on desktop, you can find the info on the Love Goodly site, under Current Box. I've noticed that thanks to this change, the info about the products is more in-depth than ever. VIP subscribers will receive an extra product, and while previously there was a second card describing it, the new online format has it listed first. Nothing has changed with their referral program—if you refer a friend to Love Goodly, you each get $15 off your next box.

Earth Harbor Mermaid Milk Glow Moisturizer, 2 oz – Retail Value $42

I'm pleased to have reach the point where (thanks to beauty and skincare subscriptions) Earth Harbor is now ever-present on my bathroom counter. This brand is so accessible: quality, effective, and gentle on the planet, with a reasonable price tag. For gals with very simple skincare rhythms like me, the friendly and approachable branding also goes a long way. And, since they've exploded on the sub box scene, I've had the privilege of trying a dozen or so of their products—in fact, this Mermaid Milk moisturizer is the first repeat.

Having used a full jar of Mermaid Milk throughout last summer, I'm familiar with the benefits. I can attest to the bright, even skin tone its blue tansy and turmeric extract offer. I do find it very soothing and hydrating, though it's a light and thin moisturizer, so there were times when I added a few drops of face oil for some extra oomph. As for the promise of boosting firmness and elasticity, honestly, I don't think this moisturizer is particularly anti-aging (that's not a claim it makes anyway). It's a great one to bring along for travel when your skin will be exposed to airplane air, or grubby car face, or a different climate—I found that it provides a nice constant that was well received by my skin.

UpCircle Floral Blend Face Scrub, 100 ml – Retail Value $24

Do you remember the sample size of this face scrub from the October/November 2024 box? It was so well-loved that Love Goodly came back with a full-size offering. How cool. This makes me feel in conversation with the curators of this box, adding an element of intimacy that I really appreciate.

The travel size we were sent in the fall had a citrus scent that was pleasantly surprising for a coffee scrub! This version is a floral scent—but its rosehip and geranium, are paired with herbal tones like rosemary, chamomile, bergamot, and patchouli, so it's not a saccharine floral. Its earthy tones go nicely with the scent offered by the exfoliating coffee grounds. This is a great, natural polish!

BONUS: UpCircle Shampoo Creme Sample — Free!

If you were to order this scrub from the UpCircle site, you would have the opportunity to choose a free sample of one of their other products to try. I love that one was included here for us Love Goodly subscribers, too. This sample is pretty small, but it was plenty of shampoo for my short, fine hair. The aromatherapy aspect is delightful—it has rosemary, cedarwood, and clove to thank for that. There is a slight tingling sensation and a great lather. Now I'm curious about the conditioner!

FLYTE.70 Chiseled.Lip in Fame, 0.01 oz – Retail Value $28

Okay, gang, now this box gets serious. I hadn't heard of FLYTE.70 before, but their sleek, edgy design grabbed my attention and had me waiting for a moment of focus to give this lip shaper a try. I've never seen a lip color with this chiseled precision shape before—any lip liner I've used is pointed to care for those edges, but this stick also has some surface area to gently fill in the lips.

Here's the Fame color in action. It's described as a "universal neutral rose" and is very much in line with what I reach for when I want to punch up a day-to-day look. I found the texture to be pretty firm and dry, but later saw that it's recommended to apply lip balm before using Chiseled.Lip to provide slip. Once it's on, the finished result is a rich, satiny-matte situation that I simply love. You get a great effect from just a light, feathered layer; it's not too dense. This might be my favorite vegan lip color I've ever tried.

BONUS: FLYTE.70 Lip Trio Sample — Free!

FLYTE.70 carries a Lip Trilogy that I have no doubt is all you need for lips in your makeup kit. (I say this based on how bomb the Chiseled.Lip is.) But of course investing $77 in lipsticks you've never tried is not for everyone. So they've sent along a free sample of the three formulas they offer. LipSheer is shiny and tinted, LipBlot is sheer-matte, and LipLacquer is high-gloss, bold, and balmy.

They each come in 3+ shades, and you can't choose your shade for the samples, but it's an awesome intro to their texture. They also have a faintly citrusy scent!

Vitamasques Watermelon Face Pads, 10 count –  Retail Value $4.99

A quick pause from our savvy FLYTE.70 experience to give a little love to these exfoliating facial pads. They're made with watermelon extract for hydration and an antioxidant boost, but they don't smell like watermelon at all to me—just fresh and juicy in the way that masks generally smell. They're loaded up with vegan collagen for an elasticity boost, probiotics to balance and calm skin, 8 hyaluronic complexes for hydration at multiple tiers, and some added nutrients. I don't have a reliable way to apply toner when it comes in a bottle (unless it's a spray), so I love that these pads are pre-juiced for easy application.

FLYTE.70 GlowBack.Lucent Light in Just Like Heaven, 0.11 oz – Retail Value $36

VIP subscribers get one more item from FLYTE.70, and not surprisingly given how hard I'm fangirling for this brand, I swear it's the highlighter that made me finally 'get' highlighter. First of all, the texture is bliss. It's described like this: "Our silky crème-to-suede-like formula creates a smooth, dewy finish with candlelit illumination." Yes. I agree with this. But also: "Micronized diamond powder lends a youthful blurring effect with minimal sparkle." OKAY, WHAT? But also, yes, it's doing exactly what it claims.

The glory of this highlighter is oh-so-subtle and yet ineffably brightening. You have to look closely to see it show up in photos whatsoever. In person, it's sweetly glowy. In the photo above I have it applied high on my cheeks, down my nose, a smidge on my cupid's bow, and a dab on my chin. As someone who wears literally no makeup on most days, I'm loving how the Chiseled.Lip and GlowBack.Lucent Light are working together here to bring a little life to my features without seeming overdone or incomplete.

Verdict

Love Goodly blew my mind this month. I'm deeply a fan of the lip color and highlighter from FLYTE.70 and going to start paying attention to this awesome vegan brand. Otherwise they've re-upped me on a tried-and-true moisturizer and replenished that great face scrub. The poor hydrating pads are turning out to be the underdog of this box, but not for lack of awesomeness.

To Wrap Up

Note to Canadian Customers: "As of October 28, 2022: At this time, we have paused shipping our bi-monthly subscription boxes and prepaid box plans to Canada; however, you can still purchase the Single Essential or Single VIP Box to ship to Canada. Current active Canada customers are not affected."

Value Breakdown: The Love Goodly bi-monthly VIP box costs $48.95 + free US shipping. VIP subscribers received 5 items this month. That breaks down to $8.15 per item. The total retail value inside the VIP box is $134.99. Non-VIP subscribers are promised a value of $70+, and I added everything from the regular subscription up to a total of $98.99. The watermelon facial pads turned out to retail at a little lower than the info page indicated, but it was still an outstanding value, and with the 2 free samples tossed it, this box felt incredibly full.
