What's Inside The Box

This month's box included Château Ducasse Graves Blanc 2023 and Fournier Père et Fils Vin de France Pinot Noir 2023. I decided to taste test them with my family during spring break, and they did not disappoint. Here's a closer look at each wine!

Château Ducasse Graves Blanc 2023 - $19.25

This French wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. While initially dry upon tasting, you'll quickly encounter a mix of citrus and melon-like flavors throughout the glass. I savored this wine on a sunny late afternoon with my mom and aunt in Ringold, GA. We all found it quite refreshing, and it helped us unwind after chasing my toddlers around all day.

I highly recommend pairing this with seafood, specifically wild-caught cod or oysters. Brie or Camembert cheese would also serve as a dynamic duo alongside this wine.

Fournier Père et Fils Vin de France Pinot Noir 2023- $19.75

While I typically prefer bolder reds, I appreciated this wine's soft and balanced nature. This is the kind of wine that would be great for those who typically shy away from reds. The hints of cherries and blackberries were cheerful and made for an elegant drink. We served this wine during dinner with pork loin and roasted vegetables.

This red wine would also go well with Steak and Frites or roasted chicken breast with herbed potatoes. As far as cheeses go, I think Camembert, Gouda, or Gruyere would be best to serve alongside this wine.

The Verdict

This month, I received Château Ducasse Graves Blanc 2023 and Fournier Père et Fils Vin de France Pinot Noir 2023. It's hard to pick a favorite, but I'd say the white wine came out on top this time. My family and I savored these wines during our family trip, but most importantly, we enjoyed overdue company with one another.
