If you’re reading this, you’ve probably been all over the internet looking for gift ideas. I have too. I’ve been disappointed by really unoriginal suggestions—I think we’re all collectively tired. So I decided to be the hero I need, and conjure up a list of items that are attainable, affordable, and appealing. Hopefully I can be your hero, too. 🦸
Here’s my list of holiday gift ideas that people will actually appreciate and use:
1. Cirkul Starter Kit
I saw a Cirkul advertisement while watching one of my favorite holiday rom-coms (The Holiday, anyone?) and after buying it, I can’t in good conscience buy anything else for my loved ones.
In short, the Cirkul water bottle is uniquely designed to hold flavor cartridges, or Sips, to give your boring ol’ water a boost (of flavor and nutrients: think B vitamins and electrolytes). There are 100+ flavors, meaning there’s something for everyone, and you can adjust the flavor intensity to your liking (1-9).
A 22 oz Cirkul Plastic Bottle Starter Kit with 3 sips included costs $26 (+free shipping), and this delicious situation contains NO sugar, zero calories, and no artificial flavors or colors—a pretty enticing replacement for soda or sugary sports drinks, huh?
It ticks all the boxes of being ✔️ practical, ✔️ fun, ✔️ affordable, and ✔️ different, and it’s something novel for the person who has it all (even a water bottle).
2. Merino wool socks
One pair of merino wool socks may cost you close to $30, but what life looks like with this granola-bougie pair of socks on your giftee’s feet is worth that and more. We’re talking sustainable threads, moisture wicking, and, I kid you not, a pair of socks you don’t have to wash after every single wear. 🧦
3. A super-nice candle
Anyone who isn’t pumped about receiving a candle has been wronged by Yankee one too many times. Let’s put those days behind us and rewrite the narrative of candle-giving by going for an expertly crafted one. Complex scents. Hand-poured into a gorgeous vessel. Something that will elevate the experience of reading a book in their living room or make a guest think more highly of them when they walk into their amazing-smelling bathroom. 🕯️
4. A fancy pen
Not fancy like with a pom-pom on top; fancy like a pen that’s well-balanced, has a smooth-as-butter ball roller, a satisfying extending/retracting mechanism, the whole nine yards. Chances are this person has no idea they needed a high-end pen in their lives, but now—thanks to you—they’ll have a signature writing instrument. If you have a few bucks left in your budget, toss a notebook in alongside it.
5. Grocery store gift card
This may sound boring at initial glance, but imagine running a routine errand wielding a little extra choose-what-you-want power. This is an especially empowering gift if the person on your list is loyal to a specific grocer, or even better yet if there’s a local market they can shop without having to hem and haw too much over luxuriously priced goods.
6. Body oil
It’s the time of year when if you haven’t transitioned from body lotion to body oil, it’s because you don’t know the life-changing ways of body oil. It’s turbo-moisturizing stuff of dreams. The scent potential is through the roof. Nobody can turn down a natural ingredient. All genders will have their winter improved by a solid opportunity to self-care it up and smell good all day.
It’s your year to knock it out of the park with gifting
When I get a great gift idea, I tend to stock up and spread the goodness around to everyone I love, which is why I’ve already bought multiple Cirkul bottles and Sips. It’s going to be the year of enjoyable hydration for my friends and fam, and I’m proud to be the source of a positive habit. But everything on this list is sure to turn up a smile, and hey—don’t forget to treat yourself, too!
