Arey vs. Batiste vs. Klorane: Which Dry Shampoo Is Right For You?

I am an over-40 mom who works out daily, is going gray, and has curly hair that loses its pizazz easily, so you know I always stash a dry shampoo in my bag. In the past, my go-to brands were Batiste and Klorane, but I recently tried the Arey non-aerosol powder dry shampoo, and here’s how it compared to my tried and tested products:

If you want a dry shampoo that doesn't look like you put chalk in your hair... Arey

Have you ever run out of the house after spraying your hair with dry shampoo, only for someone to ask you what that random white residue in your hair is? I don't know about you, but one of my biggest pet peeves is using dry shampoo and having my hair look WORSE than before. As a mom, I'm constantly on-the-go, so I don't have time to painstakingly rub in chalky dry shampoo and hope I get it all. Unfortunately, that's been my experience with Batiste and Klorane. Arey, on the other hand, has a beige-ish appearance, so with very little scrunching, it disappeared! Voila! This round hands down goes to Arey - the tinted formula is quite literally like magic.

If you want clean ingredients that actually rid you of oil… Arey

I was so happy to see clean, effective ingredients on the Arey bottle that are great for oil absorption and preventing the product from caking or building up on the hair. As for performance, Arey is for sure my fave choice! After spraying it on my roots and scrunching away, my hair went from limp to lifted! Batiste and Klorane contain Butane and Propane and they are very high up on the ingredient list. I also do not see any ingredients that are natural or plant-based, which is probably why my hair feels crunchy after a while.

If you’re looking for a dry shampoo that reverses graying… Arey

I initially wanted to try Arey because it's the only dry shampoo that contains active ingredients that can slow and re-pigment gray hair. Arey’s formula contains the patent-pending Arey Complex, which is a combination of ingredients including antioxidants and peptides that aims to turn back the clock on gray hairs. Even if gray hairs aren’t a concern for you yet, these nourishing ingredients also deliver thicker, fuller, and healthier-looking hair.

If you prefer to have a more affordable option… Batiste or Klorane

Batiste’s 8.4oz bottle is huge and costs only $18.99 at Ulta. This product will keep you going for months! Klorane is also more affordable with a 5.4oz bottle for $29. Arey is definitely a more premium product with a 0.53oz bottle for a $27 subscription, but keep in mind that a little goes a long way with this product.

If you care about having a pleasant, natural fragrance… Arey

I was pleasantly surprised at the scent of the Arey product! I enjoyed the light and refreshing cedar and sage scent that I could see men using as well. I appreciate that it’s a 100% natural fragrance that’s not at all overpowering as compared to Batiste and Klorane, which both smell harsher and chemical-ish. Arey has a unique scent that is 100% lovely to smell. A+ on that!

The ultimate winner… Arey

The overall winner here clearly is Arey! I’d certainly give them a whirl if you’re looking to try a new dry shampoo that’s good for your hair, doesn’t leave a white residue, smells pleasant, and revives your hair on the go!
