Imperfect Foods is a direct-to-consumer grocery delivery service that sends sustainable, affordable groceries straight to your door on a weekly or biweekly basis, including organic and conventionally-grown produce, meat, seafood, plant-based products, eggs, dairy, grains, pantry staples, snacks, and other household and beauty items. These foods are perfectly safe (and often delicious) to eat. What makes them imperfect are cosmetic irregularities, such as being a different size, shape or color than you’re used to seeing in your local grocery store, farmers market, or CSA. And sometimes they’re even just surplus items that the store couldn’t stock, so you get to enjoy healthy, delicious foods and help prevent food waste.

How do I customize my order?
Each week, Imperfect Foods will place a default order in your cart based on the food preferences you provide at sign-up. When your shopping window opens, you have the opportunity to remove any items you don’t want and add specific items you are looking for that week. And if you happen to hate bell peppers or flour tortillas, you can add them to your “Never List” so Imperfect Foods never puts them in your cart again. You’ll be billed for whatever’s in your cart after the shopping window closes.
Where does Imperfect Foods deliver?
Imperfect Foods offers their grocery delivery services to certain regions of the continental U.S. including most of the West South Central region, Midwest, Northeast and all along the West Coast. If that doesn’t include your hometown, keep checking in to see when service will be provided to your area.
Can I skip an order?
Yes! You can skip an order without penalty as long as you confirm you are skipping before your shopping window closes for the week.
Is it difficult to cancel my subscription?
No. Canceling your subscription is easy under your online account details, where you are also able to skip a delivery, provided it is done prior to the shopping window timeframe.
Is it cheaper to order from Imperfect Fruits?
It depends. While some fresh fruits and veggies may be cheaper elsewhere, Imperfect Produce may offer greater variety and better prices in certain instances. The appeal of its fresh produce misfits market holds less emphasis in cost savings (particularly where you factor in delivery fees), and more about its wide selection and environmental impact.
Does ordering from Imperfect Foods negatively impact local food banks?
In working with growers, Imperfect Foods does everything in their power to ensure they are not purchasing produce that would otherwise be donated. Food banks within their operation cities have confirmed their sourcing has not affected supply, as the “ugly” imperfect produce obtained is turned to waste after food banks take what they can accommodate.
