I’ve been a clinical pharmacist for six years now, and it has been the most fun career I’ve had so far. There are MANY perks to the job, but one of my favorites is wearing scrubs to work. When I’m faced with early mornings and long shifts, scrubs take the stress out of getting dressed for the day.
Make no mistake though, I have high standards for scrubs and throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to try several different brands.
Today I’m comparing Fabletics and FIGS to see which ones meet the mark.
If You Need Breathable Fabric… Fabletics
I’ll be honest, some days in the clinic feel like an athletic feat. I’m hopping from one patient to the next, going up and down stairs, and trying to fit in a walk if I have a few spare minutes. The last thing I want is to sit down for an appointment with a patient looking like a sweaty mess.
Fabletics really impressed me with how breathable they are and how accommodating they are for movement. They are made with MotionTech, a fabric meant to perform like activewear. It is breathable, lightweight, and has odor control and 4-way stretch!
FIGS fabric, while high quality, does not breath nearly as well and has no stretch at all which is not as accommodating to all the movement I get in each day.
If You’re Looking for Something Well-Made… It’s a Tie!
When investing in a pair of scrubs, it’s important to keep in mind that they are, at their simplest, a uniform. They will be well-used and (ideally) well-loved. I need scrubs with strong seams that don’t split, and pockets that ACTUALLY hold all the things I need to keep on-hand when caring for patients.
Both Fabletics and FIGS are popular for a reason, and it’s clear that they both take care in how their scrubs are made. On the surface, the brands are evenly matched in regard to how well-constructed they are, so I had to look deeper to see which one wins the faceoff.
If You Want More Scrubs for the Money… Fabletics

If Personal Style is Important To You… Fabletics
Just because I wear scrubs to work, doesn’t mean I have to tolerate looking frumpy. In the age of modern scrubs, there are so many cute styles to choose from. I can still feel like a fashionista at work, even in a pair of scrubs.
Both Fabletics and FIGS offer a wide array of options, and I think FIGS does a really great job of creating innovative and unique styles. However, Fabletics showcases so many fun colors and impressive extended sizing options that I think they have a slight edge in the style department.
Style is obviously very subjective, and every body is shaped differently, but in my opinion, Fabletics is the winner.
And the winner is… Fabletics
Overall, my pick between the two would be Fabletics. While both brands showcase high-quality construction and stylish picks, the activewear fabric Fabletics uses and the lower price point really tip the scales in their favor.
With Fabletics, my scrubs don’t just feel like they’re my uniform, they also feel fun! And I can honestly say I’m excited to pick out each set I’ll be wearing that day.
I would definitely recommend giving them a try!
