Every year we ask you, our readers, to tell us your favorite subscription boxes. These are the results of the 2017 Readers' Choice Awards.
New visitors are constantly asking us: “What’s the best subscription box for me?” We often turn to our community to help answer that question, and in January 2017 surveyed our readers for their top picks across a number of different categories. Check out the full list of winners below!

POPSUGAR Must Have was a quarterly lifestyle subscription box curated by the editors at POPSUGAR. POPSUGAR Must Have was a very popular lifestyle subscription in 2017, and readers loved it so much they voted it Best Overall Box! Each box featured "must have" products for beauty, fashion, home, food, fitness and more. Sadly, POPSUGAR Must Have is no longer in operation. The subscription shuttered in 2020.

2. FabFitFun- Best Overall Box 2nd Place Winner
FabFitFun is a quarterly lifestyle subscription that sends subscribers 6-8 items per season with a value up to $300. Items in this subscription are on-trend and full-size beauty products, fitness items, accessories, home decor, and more. FabFitFun even allows subscribers to hand-select a few items from each shipment! FabFitFun was a very popular lifestyle subscription back in 2017, and it's still going strong. In fact, it might be even more popular in 2021 than it was in 2017!

3. Ipsy- Best Overall Box 3nd Place Winner
Ipsy Glam Bag is one of the most popular and affordable subscriptions around, and our readers have selected it as one of the top beauty boxes for the last 5 years running! Ipsy Glam Bag connects members with five makeup, skincare, hair care, and other beauty samples each month, plus a cute makeup bag. Ipsy is personalised to your individual profile when you take their onboarding quiz, but what you’ll receive in your monthly glam bag is still a surprise. Ipsy was a very popular beauty subscription back in 2017, and it's still an MSA favorite in 2021.

4. Avenue A by Adidas (No Longer in Service)- Best New Box
Avenue A hit the scene in 2016 and made a splash with MSA readers-- so much so that it was voted Best New Box in 2017! Sadly, Avenue A is no longer in operation, but let's take a look back at what made this box so popular. Each shipment was filled with at least 3 premium Adidas items (mix of shoes, apparel and accessories) selected by celebrity curators who exemplify style, fitness and performance. The box shipped once per quarter. Many MSA readers still talk about Avenue A; will we see another fitness and street style subscription rise to take its place one day? Only time will tell!

5. Play! By Sephora (No Longer in Service)- Best Beauty Box
Play! By Sephora was a popular beauty subscription box from the mecca of beauty retail shopping, Sephora! Each box contained a mix of six samples (including cosmetics, haircare, skincare, fragrances, and other beauty products) personalized to match your preferences and a PLAY! BOOK of tips and tricks. This subscription sent out samples for quite a few years before closing down operations in 2020. In 2021, Sephora still curates collections of samples and beauty favorites, but if you want to get your fix, you'll need to shop in store or online. Subscriptions are no longer available.

6. (4-Way Tie!) GoodBeing, Yuzen, Vegancuts, and Petit Vour - Best Ingredient Conscious Beauty Boxes
2017 was a big year for natural and ingredient-conscious beauty, so much so that readers couldn't choose just one box to sweep the category-- it was a four-way tie! GoodBeing, Petit Vour, Vegancuts, and Yuzen all shared the top honor of being named Best Ingredient Conscious Beauty Box. In 2021, only Vegancuts Beauty and Petit Vour are still shipping out beauty products to consumers, but many other natural beauty subscriptions have stepped into the space to help us feel good about "putting on our faces."

7. Stitch Fix- Best Women's Fashion Box
In 2017, MSA readers voted Stitch Fix the Best Women's Fashion Box around! If you're new to Stitch Fix, here's how it works: Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women, men, and kids too! You tell them all about your style and size preferences through their style quiz, and they send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. No two Fix shipments are alike and each one is hand-picked just for you. Keep what items you like, and return the rest in a pre-paid return mailer. But don't worry, you don't have to travel back in time to 2017 to try this personal styling service. Stitch Fix is still dressing subscribers in 2021!

8. POPSUGAR Must Have (No Longer in Service) - Best Women's Lifestyle Box
POPSUGAR Must Have was a quarterly lifestyle subscription box curated by the editors at POPSUGAR. POPSUGAR Must Have was a very popular lifestyle subscription in 2017, and readers loved it so much they voted it Best Women's Subscription Box! (It also won the award for Best Overall Box in 2017!) Each box featured "must have" products for beauty, fashion, home, food, fitness and more. As mentioned previously, POPSUGAR Must Have is no longer sending out boxes. The subscription ceased operations in 2020.

9. Zoe Report Box of Style (Now CURATEUR) - Best Women's Accessory Box
In 2017, Zoe Report Box of Style was our readers' top choice for Best Women's Accessory Box. The box has since rebranded under the name CURATEUR, but the focus is the same. This subscription is a luxury service curated by designer Rachel Zoe and delivered 4 times a year. Each box is valued at over $400 and contains at least 5 statement staples (fashion, beauty and lifestyle) curated to elevate your everyday look.

10. SprezzaBox- Best Men's Fashion Box
SprezzaBox is a monthly subscription box that focuses on men's clothing accessories and helping you to look dapper. Every box includes 5-6 products and has a retail value of $100+! In 2017, SprezzaBox was our readers' pick for Best Men's Fashion Box.

11. Bespoke Post- Best Men's Lifestyle Box
In 2017, MSA readers voted Bespoke Post as the Best Men's Lifestyle Subscription, but can we tell you a secret? (Shhhh!) It's not just for men! Every month, this subscription releases a selection of boxes that are each curated around a theme. Sure, some of them will contain items intended for men (like clothing, ties, and accessories), but many of the boxes contain kitchen items, games, lifestyle items, and outdoor gear that are great for anyone, regardless of gender! This box was a winner in 2017, and it's still one of our favorites in 2021.

12. Avenue A by Adidas (No Longer in Service)- Best Splurge-Worthy Box
In 2017, readers were all about Avenue A by Adidas! In addition to winning Best New Box in 2017, it was also voted Best Splurge-Worthy Box! As mentioned above, Avenue A is no longer in operation, but each shipment was filled with at least 3 premium Adidas items (mix of shoes, apparel and accessories) selected by celebrity curators who exemplify style, fitness and performance. The box shipped once per quarter.

13. HelloFresh - Best Meal Kit Box
The meal kit landscape was quite a bit different back in 2017 (so many new subscriptions have launched since then!), but HelloFresh has been a constant. In 2017, MSA readers voted HelloFresh the Best Meal Kit Box. HelloFresh has only gotten better with age. In 2021, this subscription has a larger menu, supports more diets, and offers more vegetarian options than it did back in 2017.

13. Candy Club - Best Sweets Box
If you have a sweet tooth (or you're looking for a gift for someone who does), Candy Club is worth a look. Candy Club is a candy subscription box that sends up to 2+ pounds of candy to you: a mix of classic favorites to new, trendy treats. It's been on the market for several years, and in 2017, MSA readers voted it the Best Sweets Box. Just look at those colorful tubs of sweet deliciousness! This subscription has changed a bit since 2017, but in 2021, subscribers can still sign up to receive high-quality candy every month like clockwork.

14. Graze (No Longer in Service) - Best Snack Box
For a long time, Graze was a reader-favorite snack box, and in 2017, it won the award for Best Snack Box. Graze continued feeding hungry subscribers for several years after it made it onto our 2017 list, but the subscription sent out its last box in 2019.

15. GlobeIn- Best Box That Gives Back
The GlobeIn Artisan Box is a monthly subscription featuring exclusive, handcrafted products from global artisans. Each box is curated around a monthly theme to bring you exciting products that make you feel well traveled and connected with distant cultures. In 2017, GlobeIn was voted the Best Box that Gives Back; however, readers cooled on this subscription over time and reported issues with shipping delays and customer service issues.

13. Book of the Month - Best Book Box
Book of the Month was founded all the way back in 1926, and it's been going strong ever since! In 2017, Book of the Month was voted Best Book Box by our readers, and it's still a fan favorite in 2021. Kind of amazing how a subscription can be relevant in the 1920's, 2017, and 2021!

14. Loot Crate - Best Geek Box
In 2017, Loot Crate was voted Best Geek Box by MSA readers, and over the past years its only gotten geekier and more niche! In 2021, there are a number of different Loot Crate subscriptions to choose from. Whether you want horror loot, sci-fi loot, gaming loot, loot for her, sock loot... there's a Loot Crate for you.

15. BarkBox - Best Pet Box
Gifting your furry best friend with cute toys never goes out of style, and pet boxes were just as popular back in 2017 as they are in 2021. In our 2017 reader poll, BarkBox earned top marks and won the title of Best Pet Box. In 2021, you'll still find the company sending out treats and adorable dog toys that are designed to last!

16. Kiwi Crate - Best Kids Box

17. The Honest Company (No Longer in Service) - Best Essentials Subscription
Jessica Alba's Honest Company was all the rage back in 2017, and subscribers used to be able to bundle their favorite home essentials and have them shipped on a regular schedule. Unfortunately, this subscription is no longer available (you can still sign up for an Honest Company Diaper Subscription), but back in 2017, MSA readers voted it the Best Essentials Subscription.
