Driftaway Coffee is a BIPOC woman-led small-batch coffee roastery and subscription box based in Brooklyn, sourcing coffee from smallholder farmers around the world. They are working to build an equitable value chain by prioritizing women & minority producers, and want to make coffee accessible and fun for all.
Each month, Driftaway sends subscribers a different coffee curated to their coffee taste preferences. Every coffee featured in the box is selected via conscious and inclusive sourcing, with a goal to source 50% of coffees from women producers and 15% from minority producers. They pay fair & transparent farmer prices around 3-5x over Fair Trade prices. They use plastic-free packaging, with compostable bags and recycled material, and run carbon-neutral operations.
All subscriptions start with an Explorer Box of 5 different coffees from around the world, and subscribers are invited to join a live tasting with Driftaway coffee experts. Subscribers can then choose between four sizes for their ongoing deliveries based on how much coffee they drink: 8 oz ($16/box), 12 oz ($19/box), 1 pound ($24/box), and 2 pounds ($38/box). All subscriptions SHIP FREE to the U.S.
Each coffee is carefully selected and roasted to bring out its maximum potential flavor. Information post cards are included to give subscribers that feeling of drifting away to their favorite coffee origin.
