Buxton and Scout are more than just our dogs—they’re our family. Scout is 7 years old and runs around happily on three legs, never letting anything slow him down. Buxton is the baby of the family and will turn two in May. While still a young pup, he is well mannered, calm, and so very sweet! Because they mean so much to us, we want to give them the best care possible. That’s why we’ve decided to try out The Pets Table—because our pups deserve top-notch everything, including food quality!

First Impressions
Scout and Buxton were quite intrigued by the box when it arrived on our front porch. They definitely knew there was something tasty inside and were extra friendly while I was opening it. Inside, we found bubble wrap and dry ice to keep our goodies fresh. Yum!
The Introduction Quiz
When you sign up, you’ll create a profile for your pup with details like age, breed, and activity level. This helps The Pets Table tailor portion sizes and meal plans, making it super easy to meet your dog’s dietary needs!
The Welcome Card
After years of having Labs, we’ve learned that their stomachs can handle just about anything. That said, we’ve switched foods a few times for different reasons, and lately, we’ve noticed Buxton has been a little extra gassy with our current brand. Combine that with all the recent pet food recalls, and it felt like the right time to switch to something higher quality and we felt you just can't go wrong with human-grade dog food.
The Pets Table made the transition easy by sending us a welcome card with everything we needed to know—how to switch foods gradually to avoid tummy troubles, the different flavor options, and how their meals are cooked. Plus, they offer a 30-day "Happy Pup Guarantee." Now that’s top-notch care!
The Instructions + Ingredient Lists
Along with the welcome guide, we got a super helpful page with step-by-step instructions on how to transition to The Pets Table food. Adult dogs can make the switch in about a week, but for puppies, they recommend taking it slow over 14 days. The instructions were so clear and easy to follow, making the whole process a breeze!
We also received a recipe sheet with all the details on ingredients, calories, and nutritional info for each meal option. I’m already loving how short and simple the ingredient lists are—plus, the high protein content is a huge win for our active guys!
The Foods

As you can see, the meals arrived in different types of packaging. For our two-week supply, we received two resealable air-dried bags and seven frozen packages. They also included a complimentary measuring cup and a resealable container—though, unfortunately, the container didn’t survive the trip and arrived in pieces (I’ve already reached out to customer service about that - they are sending a new one, but that won't make it into this review).
Since my pups are used to dry food, I decided to go with The Mixed Plan to shake things up a bit. Table scraps are a no-go in our house, but I wanted to give them something special—so a mix of fresh food it is! How did they feel about the change? Keep reading to find out!
Turkey Casserole with Broccoli
The first fresh recipe our boys tried was the turkey casserole with broccoli—and let me tell you, it looked exactly like baby food! With a crude protein analysis of 10%, 8.5% crude fat, and 78% moisture content, it’s packed with goodness. The ingredients list included turkey, chickpeas, sweet potatoes, broccoli, carrots, spinach, salmon oil, sunflower oil, tricalcium phosphate, salt, minerals, vitamins, and yeast culture.
After opening the package and storing the leftovers in a resealable container, my son actually thought it was real people food! Safe to say, I’ll be adding labels from now on. 🤣
Scout and Buxton have always been excited for mealtime, but now? They’re next-level excited! Buxton is such a speed eater that he has to use his slow-feed bowl, and we feed Scout separately to keep things fair. Let me tell you—the yips and barks were real! They knew this food was something special right away and went straight for the new stuff before even touching their old food. Safe to say, it was a big hit! Yum!
Beef Stew with Carrots
This recipe was another winner! Just like the turkey casserole, it came frozen in portion-controlled packages, ready to be refrigerated and served. Packed with fresh beef, chickpeas, eggs, green beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, beef liver, spinach, sunflower oil, tricalcium phosphate, salmon oil, beet powder, salt, minerals, vitamins, and yeast culture—it honestly sounds like something I’d make for my own family! With a slightly higher crude protein analysis of 13%, it was clear my pups loved this one, and I felt really good feeding it to them!
This fresh food honestly looks like something I’d make for my family—kind of like a homemade casserole! You can really see the chopped-up veggies in it. As we move through the transition, Buxton is loving the bigger portions of this delicious food. Such a treat!
Chicken & Sweet Potato Air-Dried Dog Food
Before The Pets Table, I didn’t even know air-dried dog food was a thing. After checking out their website and seeing it as an option, I was really intrigued and had to give it a try. The texture is very similar to beef jerky, and I found the ingredient list to be much more appealing than our traditional dog food. I was also really impressed with the crude protein, fat, fiber, and moisture analysis. The best part? The scent doesn’t make my youngest son gag when it's his turn to do the feeding, and our pups absolutely loved it!
The transition has been going so well, and the boys absolutely love their new food! I’ve noticed Buxton is less gassy, and mealtime has become an extra special event, all thanks to The Pets Table!
"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened." - Anatole France
I've never been without a dog, and I don't ever plan to be. These guys are more to us than just pets, they are family, and the unconditional love they give is absolutely unmatched!
The Verdict
We’ve fully transitioned our pups to The Pets Table, and I’ve never seen them happier! Both dogs are more excited for mealtime, and their coats are looking extra shiny. That’s all great, but the biggest difference I’ve noticed is the decrease in Buxton’s gas—definitely a huge win for my family’s nostrils, and of course, his tummy health! Overall, I’m really impressed with the quality of this food and feel great knowing I’m doing my part to keep these fur babies healthy.
So, is The Pets Table worth it? Absolutely! These babies are my kids and they deserve the best!
