I wouldn’t call myself a fashion girlie, but as a mom of three with the curves to prove it, I’ve tried enough shapewear to give you the deets on the best options out there.
I think everyone has heard of Spanx by now, and I’m sure you’ve seen HeyShape’s real-life testimonials on social media. I couldn’t miss out on the hype, so I tried shapewear from both brands. I knew they’d both be good, but one of them completely blew my expectations out of the water.
If You Want That Snatched Goddess Look … HeyShape
When it comes to seamless sculpting and support, Heyshape’s Snatched Shapewear Bodysuit steals the show. Upon first glance, I was a bit doubtful that the bodysuit would contain all my curves (and jiggle), but once I pulled it on, it fit me perfectly without even needing a bra. The innovative power mesh lining around the stomach and waist sculpted me into an hourglass figure, so I could actually fit into that old pair of jeans from high school again!
Spanx also does a good job containing the jiggle, but I didn’t look as visually snatched. The bodysuit from Spanx helped me fit into my tightest jeans, but I looked more like a brick wall (i.e. no defined waist) than a snatched goddess.
If You’re Looking for Comfort … HeyShape
Overall, I loved how comfortable it was to wear HeyShape’s Snatched Shapewear Bodysuit with its perfect level of compression. It’s firm enough to smooth out my bumps and lumps, while elastic enough to keep me comfortable all day. Its flat bonded edges let me do pretty much anything in this bodysuit, like dancing and running around with my kids, without any painful digging into my skin. It’s durable, waterproof, and breathable, making it ideal for any errand or activity.
In contrast, I felt very constricted in the Spanx Invisible Shaping Tank Panty Bodysuit. I think it has stronger compression, particularly around the hips and legs, so it has a lot less freedom of movement. I couldn’t wait to squeeze my way out of this shapewear at the end of the day.
If Discretion Is Key … Tie
Even though shapewear is way more common and socially acceptable now, I still don’t really want to announce that I’m wearing what is essentially a modern girdle.
I love that both the HeyShape and Spanx versions are totally invisible under clothing. They just look like a tank top with jeans or a skirt.
You really can’t go wrong with either option here.
