If you want breathable materials that provide structure without rolling down… Honeylove
I’m going for the highest-performing shapewear brand, but it shouldn’t sacrifice comfort. Honeylove’s founder is an EDM artist who set out to design structured shapewear that stayed in place while performing on stage, and it shows.
I was surprised at how powerful the compression was (it really held me in, without the squeezing), but the material was also smooth with breathable mesh paneling, allowing me to dance the night away.
SPANX is a veteran in this category, and while the compression was there, their shapewear rolled down and gathered when I walked around or sat. I loved how breathable my SKIMS shapewear looked, but it felt unstructured and just didn’t hold up to my night of moving and grooving.
If you’re looking for targeted compression (without the shapewear lines)… Honeylove
Sometimes we just want to target 1 or 2 specific areas we’re a little insecure about. All 3 brands offer different levels of compression, but Honeylove is my winner here because their shapewear targets and smooths specific areas–say goodbye to lower belly and hip rolls, without the unsightly shapewear lines. SPANX and SKIMS offer mostly pieces that give compression all over for a smoother silhouette. Any of these options works, but if there is a specific area you want to smooth out, Honeylove is the way to go. The SuperPower Short is my favorite for thigh and waist compression, whereas the LiftWear Cami is my go-to for tummy smoothing.
If you want clothing options outside of shapewear… SPANX or SKIMS
If you’re looking to add loungewear or activewear options to your online cart, SPANX or SKIMS have more non-shapewear styles overall. SKIMS has pajamas, robes, tees & tanks, and more in colors ranging from muted nudes to hot pinks. SPANX’s inventory includes sportswear, pants, shorts, and even maternity wear & men’s options.
While Honeylove is primarily focused on shapewear, they have some really flattering bottoms and pretty sleepwear with mesh paneling for extra “oomph.” They have more clothes coming soon, and I’ll be the first in line!
If you want sexy shapewear that boosts your confidence… Honeylove
Honeylove’s shapewear is downright fashionable, which not many competitors can lay claim to. The mesh paneling looks sexy, and I feel beautiful wearing it regardless of what I wear over it. SKIMS and SPANX’s options were pretty basic and didn’t boost my confidence as much.
If you’re looking for greater size inclusivity… Honeylove or SKIMS
If buying from an inclusive brand is important to you, Honeylove or SKIMS are up your alley. Honeylove has sizes from XS to 4XL, and SKIMS’ sizes range from XXS to 4X/5X.
And the winner is… Honeylove!
Overall, all three of these brands are great shapewear options, but when compared side-by-side, Honeylove is my favorite for a night out. Plus, Honeylove offers free delivery over $100 and free, 30-day returns (which you won’t need, but just in case)!
