As somebody who travels a lot for work, I’m always on the lookout for healthy, convenient meals in between my trips. After all, I can only eat so many takeouts before I feel…bleh.
So, I was on a mission to find meals I could heat & eat in less than 10 minutes, and I came across Thistle, a plant-forward meal delivery service with crazy good reviews. Here’s what I thought about Thistle:
1). It’s a healthy meal delivery service that actually tastes good
When I’ve tried other “healthy pre-made meals” before, they were usually bland, boring, and nothing I would actually want to eat. After I gave it a try, it’s safe to say Thistle meals aren’t your standard microwave dinners. All meals are 100% gluten and dairy free, with both vegan and meat options available for variety.
Thistle meals are elevated twists on unique flavors I know and love. The Miso Squash Bowl with Miso Glazed Tofu was savory and filling, and the Crunchy Thai Peanut Salad with Spicy Coconut Dressing had some heat!
The quality of the ingredients is evident, and all the meals maintain their freshness. I genuinely look forward to Thistle’s colorful meals–what better way to brighten your day than with a vibrant pink Pitaya Smoothie With Coconut Hemp Granola?
2). No repeat meals here–there’s lots of variety for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (& snacks!)
Thistle offers a rotating menu of delicious, nutritious meals, snacks, and cold-pressed juices. As someone who gets bored by repeats, I like that Thistle’s chefs design a West Coast and an East Coast menu for whatever is in season, which keeps meals exciting.
Some of my favorite Thistle picks in my last order include the Garden Tahini Salad with Herb Garbanzo beans and the Red Thai Curry with Garlic Baked Tofu. I also loved the cold-pressed Watermelon Berry juice and the decadent Almond Cherry Moringa Fudge–it tastes like the fudgiest, most delicious brownie you’ve ever had.
3). High-quality, fresh ingredients = improved health + digestion
I love Thistle uses high-quality ingredients that are also free of added sweeteners and preservatives. But Thistle meals won’t leave you hungry–they’re packed full of nutrients (can you say “20g of plant protein?”) and provide plenty of vitamins & minerals.
Turns out, fueling my body with all of this nutritious food really paid off, because my body felt energized and my digestion improved significantly! I was not expecting to see the positive effects so soon, after just 1 week.
4). Eating healthy doesn’t have to mean hours in the kitchen
Thistle meals are designed to be convenient, without sacrificing flavor. And let me tell you: they deliver on this promise. Thistle meals are ready to eat straight out of the fridge or can be heated up in 5 minutes or less!
I love getting to enjoy tasty meals without having to spend hours in the kitchen prepping, chopping, and cleaning. Overall, the convenience has been great and it's helped me free up more time in my otherwise hectic schedule. I even have time for snack breaks because you can just grab-and-go!
One of the best parts? Because I travel a lot, I’m not always home to pick up deliveries. With Thistle, you can skip a delivery, pause for the week, or cancel whenever you need.
So, is Thistle worth the hype?
Without a doubt, YES! Out of all the healthy meal deliveries I’ve tried (and trust me, I’ve tried a lot), Thistle is one of the very best.
While I came to try Thistle for its convenience, the real selling point for me is how great the food tastes. All of the ingredients are very fresh and flavorful, and they make it so easy to get a delicious meal on the table quickly!
