I Tried Thistle’s Nutritionist-Designed Meals for 1 Week—Here’s What Happened

Because I work in an office, I’ve been searching for some healthier, quick meals to power me through the day. I love a trip to my local fast food spot during lunch as much as anyone, but I’m tired of having an energy crash in the late afternoon. 🥱

So I decided to sign up for Thistle, a healthy meal service plan that delivers fully prepped, nutritious meals to your door. After testing it out for just one week, I’m already seeing some major benefits: 

1. I didn’t have to spend time meal planning or prepping

From day one, I quickly saw that Thistle would make a huge difference in my life. Instead of scrolling through recipes online, writing out extensive grocery lists, and prepping a bunch of meals for the week, I could just trust Thistle to send over a planned menu of meals.

All of Thistle's meals arrive super fresh and ready to eat, or just throw them in a skillet to heat up for a couple of minutes. This gave me back so much time in my week—I could finally focus on work and give myself some self-care time!

I love that all the meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are shipped right to your door! You can also skip deliveries, pause, or cancel anytime, so there’s no strings attached.

2. I was able to cut back on high-sodium and processed foods

While I love checking out local restaurants, I do want to achieve balance with my diet. So lately, I’ve been focusing on limiting how much high-sodium and highly processed foods I’ve been eating. Thistle makes meeting my health goals so easy.

I don’t have to handle tracking all the nutrients — Thistle's meals are designed by nutritionists and created by chefs, who make sure the meals feature fresh, seasonal ingredients. One of my favorites, the Green Pesto Bowl with Roasted Chicken, has 44g of protein and 12g of fiber, and many of the ingredients are organic.

3. I didn’t have to sacrifice flavor

It was important to me to still enjoy foods I loved as I added some healthier meals into my daily routine, and Thistle’s meals definitely don’t skimp on flavor. Plus, I can always swap out meals to suit my personal preferences in the weekly menu.

Thistle’s meals are unique in that they’re plant-forward, but very filling—you won’t be hungry after 1 hour, trust! A few of my favorites on rotation:

4. I skipped less meals and felt energized all day long

My work schedule is hectic, and I don't always have time to cook something for myself. Sometimes that means I just skip right past mealtime, running out the door and downing a coffee instead of eating a healthy meal. But not with Thistle!

Thistle finally helped me feel energized, from breakfast accompanied with a delicious wellness shot, to well after I polished off the last of the creamy, perfectly spicy pumpkin ramen for dinner.

I didn’t experience that typical sluggishness that tends to set in after my lunch break, and I still had plenty of energy to come home, go to the gym, and knock out a little extra work before bed!
