What is IPSY?
IPSY is a premier beauty subscription service (and one of the largest) that delivers a customized array of products including makeup, skincare, haircare, nail care, beauty tools, and more in a stylish, reusable makeup bag right to your door each month. The company was founded with the singular mission of inspiring people around the world to express their own unique beauty.
As a whole, IPSY is more than their subscription service. The online platform is a beauty community in itself, offering visitors a place to go for makeup tutorials, product reviews by real-life beauty lovers like you, and featured celebrity content. Here at MSA, we drop spoilers for each bag design and product variations included, as well as potential bonus items available to ship with your bag (‘Add-Ons’) for no extra shipping fee.
How does IPSY work?
The first step to securing a personalized beauty curation is to take your very own two-minute ‘Beauty Quiz’ via IPSY’s online platform. Enable ultimate personalization with this quick quiz and let IPSY know your skin tone, hair color, eye color, favorite brands, desired products, and more. Here is where you will be able to express what kind of products you want more or less of. Whatever preferences you select here will be used to curate what is included inside your bag each month (delivery frequency can be adjusted simply from the website or app and customized to work for you and all of your beauty needs).
When signing up for your first official bag, you will be billed upon joining. After your first month’s payment, billing takes place like clockwork; always on the last day of the current month for the next month’s bag. Your bag will arrive about two weeks later. Payment and delivery schedules vary slightly for annual plans.
IPSY Tiers
There are currently three subscription offerings available: the Glam Bag, the Glam Bag Plus, and the Glam Bag X.
1. Glam Bag
The OG IPSY bag. This bag is available for $13 per month and delivers five deluxe-sized products, all sent in a cute, compact, usually themed makeup bag. You have the chance to handpick one specific product (chosen out of several provided options) to be included in your bag for an ultra-personalized experience. The estimated value of the Glam Bag is up $50+.
2. Glam Bag Plus
An expanded version of the original Glam Bag. This bag is available for $28 per month and delivers five full-sized products in a themed drawstring bag (extremely useful for organizing the inevitable abundance of products). The ‘choice’ perk is that you have the chance to handpick three of five products to be included in your bag. The estimated value of the Glam Bag Plus is $120+.
3. Glam Bag X
The most comprehensive product curation. This bag is available for $55 per quarter and delivers seven to eight full-sized products that are specially selected and inspired by some of the biggest names in beauty. The ‘choice’ gives you the chance to handpick three products for each shipment. The estimated value of the Glam Bag X is $350. What’s different about this option is that it runs on a quarterly schedule, so it comes to you every three months, replacing your usual bag for the months of February, May, August, and November.
