I’ve Tried SO Many Bedding Brands–Here’s Why Parachute Puts The Competitors to Shame

Raise your hand if you look forward to sleeping in a hotel bed. 🙋‍♀️ The bedding is SO soft, plush, and temperature-regulating–I had to recreate the experience at home.

So when we moved into our new house, I decided it was time to upgrade our sheets. I tried linen sheets at 3 different price points—Target, Parachute, and Restoration Hardware—to find out which are the most comfortable and aesthetically pleasing.

The findings? Parachute's sheets strike the perfect balance between quality and affordability. Here's why Parachute is so deserving of its 6,000+ five-star reviews:

1. Parachute's Linens are Just as Soft as Restoration Hardware's–for Half the Price

Starting with the most expensive option: the Restoration Hardware Italian Heritage Washed Linen Sheet Set ($625 for a King set). Now, you have to expect that sheets at this price point are going to offer hotel-worthy softness—and they deliver.

However, I was honestly so surprised by the buttery, silky soft texture of the Parachute linen sheets right out of the package, for almost half the price ($359 for a King set plus a top sheet). They felt super lightweight, which is perfect for hot sleepers. Parachute's linen sheets are crafted from premium European flax that only gets softer with repeated washing and wear (plus, the flax doesn't require any synthetic chemicals to grow).

The Target Casaluna sheets (starting at $179 for the King set), on the other hand, felt thinner, rougher, and surprisingly scratchy in comparison to the other two options. I noticed they didn’t have the same smooth, ultra soft handfeel even straight out of the package, either.

2. Target's Sheets Wear and Tear Easily, While Parachute's Quality Doesn't Budge

There's no question the Casaluna sheets from Target take home the prize for budget-friendliness. However, as much as I wanted to save money, I realized after the sheets began to fray and thin pretty soon after purchase that the bargain quality just doesn't justify that lower price tag.

While splurging a little more on Parachute sheets for $359 isn't exactly cheap, I really do think they provide the best value investment for what you get: long-lasting, silky linens built to stand the test of time. Parachute also has free, carbon-neutral shipping.

The Restoration Hardware linen sheets are 3x more expensive than Target's—and while I get that you're paying for the quality, they felt a little too highbrow for my budget. Especially given that my toddler loves to make a mess in the house, they were a little too nice for me, costing over half a grand!

3. Parachute's Sheets are Non-Toxic and Germ-Resistant (Bye, Acne, Mold, and Odors!)

I try my best to use non-toxic and hygienic products for my family whenever possible, so, I was intrigued to learn Parachute's linen sheets are OEKO-Tex Standard 100-certified and they have natural antimicrobial properties.

The flax material itself inhibits odors, mold growth, and even acne-causing bacteria−meaning you don't have to wash linen as often as traditional cotton sheets (and I will say, I'm noticing less breakouts and skin irritation than before).

The sets I tried from Target and Restoration Hardware didn't advertise any special antibacterial features, though Restoration Hardware is also OEKO-TEX certified.

And while all linen has more microbial resistance than other fabrics like cotton or microfiber, only Parachute specifically emphasized their bedding’s odor and germ-fighting abilities.

4. The Gorgeous Aesthetic of Parachute's Sheets Can't be Beat

Restoration Hardware has a range of around 12 stylish colors, but Target's Casaluna line only had 4 options the last time I checked, mostly in darker neutral tones.

For me, though, Parachute's ultra-clean solid hues and super-soft neutral textures make them look and feel the most elevated of the three options. My forest-green Moss Parachute sheets provided the perfect contrast to my soft, neutral home decor.

With eight classic colors in their palette plus rotating seasonal colors, you'll be sure to find a Parachute sheet set that fits your own personal aesthetic.

There's a Reason Parachute Has So Much Hype

At the end of the day, I had a clear winner. Restoration Hardware's linen sheets were tempting, but I can't justify spending over $600 on bedding. While more budget-friendly, Target's Casaluna sheets lacked the comfort and durability I was looking for.

After plenty of first-hand testing, I'm confident Parachute linen offers the best of both worlds: hotel-quality softness, stunning styles, and health-promoting antimicrobial benefits, all at a reasonable price point.

This Goldilocks found her perfect bedding: for me, Parachute linen is just right in terms of both quality and value.
