The Internet Loves Laura Geller Makeup, But Is It Overhyped? I Found Out.

As a makeup lover, I’m obsessed with finding products that not only make my skin look amazing, but benefit it as well. The search can be tough sometimes: I’ll find a product that looks great when I first apply it, get really excited, only for it to settle into my creases and cause terrible breakouts.

I heard all the hype on social media around Laura Geller Cult Classics Full Face Kit, which is a moisturizing powder foundation that looks flawless and undetectable. I was a bit skeptical, worrying it was too overhyped, but as a lover of trying new things, I had to give it a try (especially when it’s 40% off with code MSA40). Here’s what I found!

Beautifully blurred, second-skin finish

This kit comes with 5 products:

  • Primer ✨
  • Powder foundation 💆‍♀️
  • Blush 😊
  • Highlighter 💫
  • Lipstick 💄
  • Kabuki brush 🖌️

When I first opened the Spackle Primer, it appeared like cream, but I was surprised at how it turned to a gel-like consistency when I applied it. My face looked blurred, and it felt lightly hydrated but not greasy. Off to a good start!

I next applied the Balance-n-Brighten Foundation with the retractable angled kabuki brush. The application was a breeze, and I love how it calmed down my redness, improved the look of my hyperpigmentation, blurred my skin, and floated above my fine lines or pores without settling in.  It’s definitely buildable with a light to medium finish. Even though it was a dry powder foundation, it oddly enough felt more like applying a moisturizing cream on my skin.

I then applied the Blush-n-Brighten across my cheeks and Baked Natural Glow Highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones for a nice glow.  I found they gave my cheeks a nice boost of radiant youthful glow

Finally, the Modern Classic Lipstick in the shade Pink Passion was a beautiful pop of color on my lips. Formulated with vitamin E for moisture, it’s perfectly pigmented and felt nice and hydrating.

Wears comfortably all day

Individual results may vary

When I went to check on my makeup hours after it was applied, I was pleasantly surprised to see that everything still looked perfect! I just had to touch up my lipstick after eating.

The complexion products didn’t settle into any of my fine lines, and my skin didn’t look cakey at all - just flawless and blurred, without any shine to blot away. My skin felt hydrated, and I didn't have any reactions or breakouts with these formulas.

Shade selection: Self-adjusting pigments

This kit comes in 9 shades for any skin tone, from light to deep. The color-correcting pigments are self-adjusting, meaning they adjust to your perfect foundation shade when applied.

When I first looked at the foundation, I thought it might not be my correct shade - but I can confirm that it worked like magic! It melted into my skin so well that it looked completely natural.

All you need for an incredible value

This kit covers pretty much all of the bases for a basic makeup routine, saving so much money! All of these products individually retail for $166, but the entire kit is on sale for $69, making it such a great value! (Psst: you can also get 40% off with code MSA40, which makes it even more of a steal!)

The products are quick and easy to apply, keeping my daily routine to less than 5 minutes. Not only am I keeping money in my wallet, but I’m saving precious time too.

My verdict

I’m a Laura Geller convert! From the incredible value in this kit to the blurring, second-skin finish, comfortable hydrating formulas, Laura Geller has the perfect products for anyone, especially those of us with mature skin.
