My health is a top priority, and an essential piece of that puzzle is finding the right meal plan. I always make time to work out and I want to keep up the progress I’ve gained in the gym with what I eat, so I’ve been on the lookout for fast, easy, and healthy meal plans that will support my jam-packed schedule as a fitness instructor & personal trainer.
I decided to try both Trifecta and Factor_ subscription meal plans to see which of these nutritionist-designed and freshly cooked meals could deliver results. Here are my thoughts on how they compare:
If You’re Looking For Delectable Taste… Trifecta
If it comes down to flavor, Trifecta wins! The Factor_ meals had less protein and veggies (which are vital to hitting those macros goals), and the bland taste left me wanting more. My husband and I enjoyed Trifecta’s Chef’s Choice options that we could pick from after defining our dietary needs and preferences. You can technically choose which meals you want with Factor_’s rotating weekly menu, but I thought that Trifecta’s menu had way more tasty selections. From Whole30 Chicken with Walnut Pesto to Vegan Harissa Chickpeas with Sumac Carrots and Broccoli, Trifecta’s meals are so delicious and make mealtime exciting.
If You Need Bigger Portions… Trifecta
If I’m investing in a meal plan, I need the portions to be as healthy as they are generous to keep me satisfied. I eat a lot of protein to support my fitness goals, so I appreciate that Trifecta met my dietary needs, which include gluten-, dairy-, legume-, and soy-free, while maintaining large portion sizes. Factor_ had smaller portions of their salmon option than Trifecta’s salmon, chicken, or shrimp recipes did, and Trifecta’s meals came with plenty of tasty veggies, too.
If You Need Variety In Your Meal Plan… Trifecta
I like to try new foods constantly, so finding a meal subscription with a wide variety of recipes that fit my dietary needs is a big deal. Factor_ has over 34 restaurant-quality meals to choose from, but Trifecta has more variety with Clean Eating, Whole30, Paleo, Keto, Vegetarian, and Vegan options to vary your Chef’s Choice. You can also easily add breakfast to your weekly plan and omit any proteins you don’t want on your menu.
If You Need A More Affordable Meal Plan… Factor_
Factor_’s order minimum is four (4) meals for $60, or $15 per meal - which is pretty standard if you’re looking for a healthier alternative to take out anyway - or you can get six to eight meals per week for $12.83 per meal once you choose your plan. Meanwhile, Trifecta’s order minimum is seven (7) meals that start at $110.99, which equals about $15 per meal.
The Ultimate Winner… Trifecta
It’s a no-brainer for me - Trifecta wins! It’s the best meal service to help me achieve my fitness goals and keep me full and satisfied for longer. The Trifecta app really put it over the edge for me since I’m a big fan of combining convenience with top-notch service. My favorite meal to log into the app so far has been Kung Pao Chicken with Roasted Sweet Potato and Brown Rice because it is *Chef’s kiss!!*
