Over the years, glasses have shed their nerdy stereotype, emerging onto the scene as a trendy way to showcase your personality. Want to infuse some extra professionalism into your work outfit? Classic black frames are the way to go. Want to brighten up your weekend wardrobe? Maybe you’ll be into a funky lime green pair. See? Wearing glasses doesn’t have to be all bad.

In my quest for stylish and affordable glasses that match my unique taste, I decided to try two popular eyewear brands, Warby Parker and EyeBuyDirect. So, which one emerged as the clear winner? Let's dive in. 👓

If You Value Convenience... Warby Parker

When it comes to convenience and cost-effectiveness in getting prescription glasses, Warby Parker takes the cake. Both Warby Parker and EyeBuyDirect have a virtual try-on feature, but Warby takes it one step further by offering a Home Try-On program. You can have 5 pairs delivered to your doorstep for free complete with a prepaid return label, and it’s a game changer.

In contrast, EyeBuyDirect's 2-week return or exchange policy meant ordering multiple pairs, hoping they'd work, and then sending them back, which is a hassle.

If You're Looking for a Wide Selection of Choices... Warby Parker

I personally feel like the perfect glasses can pull an outfit together, so I love matching my glasses to my OOTD.

In my opinion, Warby Parker has a much wider variety of high-quality, stylish frames to choose from than EyeBuyDirect. From aviators to cat-eye, thick or wire-thin frames, and tons of color options, Warby Parker has something for every face, outfit, and preference, and even offers great customization options like blue-light-filtering, anti-fatigue, and frame width.

If You're on a Tight Budget... EyeBuyDirect

EyeBuyDirect's frames and basic lenses are available at a range of price points, making them accessible to any budget. While Warby Parker frames start at $95, the frames feel higher quality than EyeBuyDirect's basic lens option. Relative to the market, Warby Parker still offers some pretty affordable options.

Ordering lenses of the same quality from EyeBuyDirect puts the price at the same level as or more than Warby Parker, which is why I personally prefer Warby Parker, but if you're looking to spend the least amount on prescription frames, EyeBuyDirect is the way to go.

If You Want to Keep Up With Trends Without Breaking the Bank... Warby Parker

As someone who loves to change up my look based on the latest trends, Warby Parker has made it easy for me to do so without breaking the bank. Warby Parker hits that sweet spot between being affordable enough to switch up my look as much as I want, but totally trendy, too (I’m lusting after these white jade & polished gold Lupita glasses).

With trends changing so quickly, I wasn't able to update my glasses often enough when shopping at traditional stores because of the expense. Thankfully, Warby Parker's affordability, convenience, and top-quality frames and lenses mean I can swap white, thin frames for darker, heavier frames any time I want. EyeBuyDirect definitely has some trendy options, but I prefer how substantial my Warby Parker frames felt.

The Ultimate Winner... Warby Parker

Switching to Warby Parker has made buying new glasses a breeze for me. The convenience, wide selection of stylish frames, quality, and all-around affordability have made me look forward to changing up my look with their glasses. Plus, when you order prescription glasses through Warby, you’ll get 15% off on 2 pairs!
