I also have had issues with this subscription. I was enjoying it, and then added a subscription for my DIL. After missing my own deliveries, I cancelled MY subscription. I continued to get sent a subscription, while my DIL never received hers. I contacted the company and they told me that the only way to fix it was to delete both subscriptions and start over. Which I did. She didn’t receive January or March, and her subscription is now being sent to me again. She loves it, so I know I’m going to have to cancel and start over… AGAIN. The spices are good, but just hope you never have an issue that needs dealt with. 😛

Oh, and the missing packages? I was reimbursed for one. For HALF the cost. That’s not really a refund, is it? I’m just annoyed all the way around with this company.

Been subscribing since January. Jan (didn’t receive but got refunded), Feb (on time) and March (very late). I have had good customer service and really like the boxes and recipes. Look on Twitter and they have different recipes if you aren’t into the ones sent in the boxes. Kinda inconsistent but customer service fixed it up, I’ll keep subscribing 🙂

March is the first box I haven’t received when promised. I reached out and they said they would try resending. I’ve never had an issue before in nearly a year of subbing, so I’m hoping it’s just a one time glitch, but I still haven’t received the replacement shipment almost two weeks after they said they’d send it. I love the concept of this sub, even with the recipe glitches, so I really want them to straighten things out.

I never got the replacement envelope they said they mailed out on the 15th, but I heard back from them today that they’ll extend my subscription by a month since they’re now out of March. I’m not thrilled to miss a month, especially since the chances seem slim that two shipments both happened to be lost in a row, but I’m okay with this solution. I just finally received April’s shipment (though they said they shipped April the week of the 12th, the label on the envelope was clearly labeled 4/19/16), so hopefully I’m now back on track. I really hope they can continue to improve their process!

When march was late i contacted customer service at 3 different times and each time got a response within hours. They offered to resend if it didn’t arrive but it did. I’m shocked to hear others are having problems as i found Then to be incredibly responsive and helpful. I do like their instagram account also. I do wish more vegetarian recipes

I canceled my subscription last year due to shipping issues.
I keep checking here to see if they have get better and sadly is a NO.
However, last week I finally prepared the Jamaican Spice Box (From Summer last year I think June or July) and the fish tacos & corn-mango salsa turnes out spectacular.

I can see how if you are using this sub for the recipes, it’s a real issue. There definitely was a typo on the last shipment about 7 cups of uncooked rice. Though I was doing my own online research and they do use a lot of rice for pulao. The instructions on various blogs I read were pretty much just as complicated as on the recipe card.
I used mine for a pared down version of jeweled rice and it was just right.
However, I had fun with my spices. I made ground lamb (instead of leg) with jeweled rice (where I also included the saffron). It was delish.
Generally, I see recipes are “suggestions”, so i just do my own thing with ingredients.

ha! I noticed that also and thought about paella …. We are only two people so I figured I would have to find a different recipe since that would be WAY too much rice. Also seemed complicated.

Here’s hoping they can get their act together this time. We just got the MARCH packet a few days ago. Some highlights:
*Their suggestion for using the saffron was an herbal TEA. Obviously we are not going to do that. It might not be Afghan, but we are going to make vegetarian paella.
*Two of their recipes had photos of the exact same dish on the cards (it was the rice dish with carrots), from slightly different angles. I think they are trying to get away with only providing two recipes (don’t forget one is tea) because they say to put the lamb on top of the carrot/rice dish.
*Once again, no actual vegetarian alternatives posted.
*The rice dish called for 7 CUPS of uncooked basmati rice. Do you have any idea how much rice that will make when cooked? Enough to feed a family of four for about a week…

I cancelled. Billing and shipments were inconsistent. Several missing months and sometimes missing cards with instructions and just packets of spices arrived. NO TRACKING provided. Customer service is slow to respond. CANCELLED and do NOT recommend!

Agreed. Just got mine a few days ago (March box in APRIL). We are vegetarian and I can never seem to find vegetarian options on their blog.
Customer service is a joke with this company. I’ve found the quickest way to get a response is through FB Messenger (because you can see when they’ve read it & I jump on that!).
I want so badly to love this sub. They have a great niche market and I feel they’re running it into the ground… ?
