I'm always nervous I won't know or love the fandom featured in this box. And yet, here I am flipping out once again because OMG GUYS POKEMON!!! The back of the thematic info card acknowledges the makers and operations folks who make Fandom of the Month Club happen. I like that they take a moment to give some props to these clever creators!
Follow Me to the Gym Sticker - Value $2?
This sticker is about the size of a 3x5 inch photo. It seems like a thicker, sturdier sticker, though I wouldn't say it's a bumper sticker. Thus begins the quest to find the perfect place for this sticker to stick!
I can't find this sticker online, but I'd venture it's at least worth a good $2. It's pretty nice quality and obviously a cool design.
Team Rocket Magnet - Value $2?
Half Blood Prints makes minimalist artwork that honors a slew of different shows, movies, and more. This magnet features the artist's take on none other than Team Rocket! These melodramatic villains are probably my favorite part of Pokemon, so I was so excited to add them to the front of my fridge. I feel like every time I go to grab something to eat, I'm going to see this magnet and start reciting the "Prepare for trouble" speech in my brain...
Each month, Fandom of the Month Club delivers their surprise accessories in a special screen-printed muslin bag. I spent wayyy too many weekends in my youth (and, yeah adulthood) watching Pokemon and singing along to the theme song, so I was delighted to see the lyrics printed on this month's bag. And Ash's hat, of course!
Pokeball Hand Mirror - Value $5.47
I think what I love the most about Fandom of the Month Club is how they seem to find items I never would've expected. This is definitely one of those items. This silver hand mirror pops open with a push-button release, kind of like a pocket watch would. Inside, there are two mirrors—one on each side. Super handy (pun intended) and awesome!
Hair Pins - Value?
These Pokemon hair pins feature four of your favorite Pokemon, captured in Half Blood Prints' signature style. These pins varied a little bit in how tight or loose they were, but the designs are cool and colorful. They're a subtle way to add a little Pokemon to your outfit. Plus, when you pick which pin to wear, you can do it while saying "Squirtle, I choose you! ...To pin back my bangs!" (Okay, that's corny, but still!)
Pikachu Earrings - Value?
These earrings are handmade, probably from polymer clay, which means there are little inconsistencies here and there. But they're pretty cool—the post on the back of the head part threads through the body section so that it looks like Pikachu's hanging out by your ear. The tail's on a separate hook, too, which makes these earrings pretty dynamic (they dance around when you move your head).
Verdict: The Fandom of the Month Club is right up my alley. Cool accessories + awesome fandoms? Yes, please. The box is only $13 a month, which means each item should be around $2-$3 to make it worth it. And while I couldn't find all the items online, I'm gonna say the quality and cool factor definitely make these items worth at least $3. I can't wait to show off these uncommon Pokemon goods.
