Can you guess this month's theme? It's Beauty and the Beast! What a fun way to gear up for the live-action version of the film.

On the reverse side of the card, there's a nod to all of the creators who made the box possible.

Gaston's Admirers Magnet - Value $2?

Each month, Half Blood Prints makes minimalist artwork for this box's featured theme. This magnet features the three gals who are (for some reason) easily wooed by the over-the-top machismo of Gaston. I like the design style of this magnet, but I wish it featured more prominent characters, rather than these sort of random ones.

All of the accessories are packed into this small muslin bag. I love the metallic gold ink and the Lumiere and Cogsworth illustration.

Tale as Old as Time Pocket Watch Necklace - Value $26.99?

I couldn't find this exact item online, so this price is based on a similar item I found. I'm not sure if this item is worth quite $26.99, though—the pocket watch isn't flimsy by any means, but it does feel a bit like a lightweight, novelty piece of jewelry you'd find at the mall.

All that said, I think this necklace is so cute! The design on the glass-dome front of the watch is pretty and dainty.

The mirror is such a clever nod to the movie, and I even noticed that the blue and yellow gem beads echo Beast and Belle's ballroom outfits!

Even the watch could be looked at as an homage to Cogsworth!

Gold Servants Charm Bracelet - Value $9.64?

This bracelet was also hard to find online, so I used a similar item to estimate the value. I love the simplicity of these silhouetted characters! I can wear pieces like this to work or in sophisticated settings—it's not an in-your-face fan item, which makes it more versatile.

I'm a bit worried that the gold finish on this bracelet might wear off before too long, just since there are already some small scratches in it. The bracelet is comfortable and roomy on my wrist. Cute!

Silver Open Book Ring - Value $16.00?

Belle's nose is always in a book, so I bet she'd be a big fan of this ring!

I couldn't find a ring with this exact silver finish, so I based the value on a similar item in brass.

The ring adjusts in the back via its flexible band. There are already a few chips in the silver finish, so I don't know how long it'll be before the finish wears down. I'll probably paint it with clear nail polish to protect it.

Red Rose Earrings - Value $4.70?

These shiny rosettes are as vibrant as the red rose in the Beast's castle. I wish you could see the touch of gold the posts provide when you're wearing them. There are teensy tiny sparkles in the rosettes, but that's not very apparent when they're on. This value is based on a similar item.

Verdict: There were a lot of cute items in this month's Fandom of the Month Club. I do wish the products were a bit higher quality, but I also think what's in the box is fair for the $13.00 price tag. Besides, the value I estimated based on the prices of similar items was almost $60.00! Okay, so I feel like that's probably too high. But there's no doubt that this box is worth it, especially if you love lots of different fandoms!

For $13. I guess it’s ok but everything looks very cheap and not really something I would reach for. I guess if you look at the pieces as a collectible it my be a great box. I love Beauty and the Beast and can’t wait for the movie but this box did nothing for me.

I loved the magnet. It’s an inside nod to the Maynard Triplets, the three sisters behind the box. I saw it and laughed and laughed. They actually have an ornament (I think) of them as the three bimbettes that you can get. Ros

I agree that the magnet was a total miss. Belle and Adam would have been MUCH more appropriate. I think they went with this because the owner is a triplet and her and her sisters are blonde and have kind of similar bodies to the Bimbettes, so I feel like they kind of identified with those characters.

All that to be said, I’m done with FOTMC now. I’m sick of them ordering lots of items from Aliexpress and not putting true thought into the designs (although I do know they work with a manufacturer to customize some pieces – still in China, though). With their success now with Storybook Cosmetics (again, made in China), I’m not sure they’ll put as much effort into FOTMC anymore.
