Yesssssss! This month's theme is Star Wars! I couldn't be more excited. Rogue One was amazing, and I'm a big fan of the original films. (Not so much those prequels, though, to be honest... but hey, they're still Star Wars movies!)
The back of the card has information about contributors to the box, plus how to connect with the Fandom of the Month folks.
Princess Leia Magnet - Value $2?
Each month, Half Blood Prints makes minimalist artwork for this box's featured theme. There aren't enough crying emojis to explain how sad I am about Carrie Fisher's passing, but I love having this magnet to remember our princess! It doesn't have a ton of sticking power, but it does look great on my fridge.
Small Printed Pouch - Value $10.34?
The accessories this month are packaged in this canvas pouch, which would be great for carrying change, some cards, and maybe a smaller cell phone. I can just imagine C-3PO being baffled by the idea of a "#SQUAD", hehe.
I couldn't find this exact item online, so this price is based on a similar item I found.
The Force Is Strong with This One Wrap Bracelet - Value $19.37?
I couldn't find this exact item online, so this price is based on a similar design I found. That said, I think that price seems too high for what this item is. This wrap bracelet is very likely faux leather and is secured with a peg that pokes through the belt notches rather than a buckle or clasp. It works fine, but I worry that it'll become loose in the hole after a couple wears. Plus the metal pendant is pretty lightweight, so I doubt it's anything fancy.
There are three holes in the slender band, so you can pick your size. It's soft and comfortable to wear. And of course, I love the message on the pendant!
Vader's TIE Fighter Ring - Value $12.95
I've never seen a TIE Fighter turned into a ring, but it's such a cool idea! The black gem in the center gives this rugged ring a touch of glamour. I like when fan accessories are understated or sophisticated enough that I can sneak them into work and other fancy looks. This definitely fits that bill.
Jedi Wire Pendant Necklace - Value $10.00?
This item was also tricky to find online, so I linked to a similar style.
Name or word pendants never seem to go out of style. I love the way "Jedi" is spelled out in bent wire and how the tiny gem gives the necklace a pretty accent.
This necklace is super lightweight and easy to wear. I worry that the gold finish won't last too long, but it's held up so far!
Death Star Earrings - Value $12.00
I imagine wearing these silver dangling earrings with an otherwise ordinary outfit and making other Star Wars fans do a double-take. These pendant earrings have a bit of shine, and their cutout design keeps them light and airy to wear.
Verdict: I liked the unconventional, playfully pretty items in this month's Fandom of the Month Club. As usual with this box, I wish the products were a bit higher quality, but hey, it only costs $13.00. The value I estimated using mostly similar items was about $67.00, which is, frankly, way too high. That said, this box is well worth its very reasonable cost, especially if you're the type who likes to wear your fandom on your sleeve (or wrist, or ear, or neck...)!
