Trunk Club is a clothing styling service for both men and women. Trunks can be ordered as often as you like, so you can try it once, or have a trunk sent to you quarterly or monthly. Or even more frequently!

So first, a little more about how Trunk Club works. When I signed up, I took a pretty lengthy style questionnaire online. Then I was matched with a stylist, Kelly, who asked me even more about what I like and what I was looking for via an online chat. Based on this information, she selected ten items for me to try on at home. She then sent me a link to preview all my items! This month I decided to try everything she selected.

This packet was also included in my trunk.

trunk-club-march-2017-note

This is a note from my stylist, Kelly. This month she kept her note brief, but we did chat beforehand about what I wanted to see in my trunk. I love this level of personalized service! This month, the only thing I told Kelly was that I wanted a ridiculous purple dress for Easter. Let's see how she did!

This is my invoice. It lists the items I was sent and the cost to keep each item. My $25 styling fee will be deducted from anything I decide to keep. There is also a reminder to provide feedback on their website or app about how well each item worked for me.

trunk-club-march-2017-instructions

On the back of the invoice are instructions for returning the items I don't want to keep. I can drop my box back off at any UPS location, or I can schedule a free pickup through the Trunk Club app!

These items were also in the packet. When I've finished repackaging the items I don't want to keep in the box, I just put this return label on it and use the tape straps to tape it back up! So convenient!

trunk-club-march-2017-tee

V-Neck Tee by Slink Jeans - Cost to keep $48

I think Slink must be a new brand or something because their pieces have been in alllll my boxes lately. Turns out I am not a fan! I like the idea of a flowy basic lightweight cotton tee for spring, but this one is just completely the wrong shape for me.

Seam Detail Crop Ponte Leggings by Sejour - Cost to keep $89

These leggings are super supportive, but they are really heavyweight. Spring is here! I am not in the market for heavy black leggings at the moment. I am impressed with the quality, though.

Whimsey Floral Top by City Chic - Cost to keep $69

I love this top! (Not necessarily with the leggings, though.) It's so beautiful and romantic! It's perfect for spring! I think it's pretty flattering, too. I think it would look amazing with a champagne colored shantung pencil skirt. Which I will now have to buy.

'Holiday Romance' Print Fit & Flare Dress by City Chic - Cost to keep $119

This dress is so beautiful! It's a heavy satin-feel dress, fully lined. I think it might be a size too big, though. It felt loose, especially through the top.

'Renley' Lace Fit & Flare Dress by BB Dakota - Cost to keep $98

EASTER DRESS!!! I love it! I am dressing my whole family up in purple for Easter, and I think this dress is perfectly stunning. I also love BB Dakota pieces in general. This will look awesome with the right jacket.

Chiffon Bolero by Eliza J - Cost to keep $78

Unfortunately, this is not the right jacket for that dress. I don't know if they were meant to be worn together, or maybe with the other dress? In any case, I like that this is super lightweight, but I am just not feeling black for spring.

Verdict: This was another awesome package from Trunk Club! It was another mix of hits and misses, but I absolutely loved the purple dress and the floral blouse, and I think I might love the floral dress, too, if it fits better in a smaller size. I am becoming a big fan of Trunk Club!

You are rocking the ‘cold shoulder’ looks you’ve been getting. I LOVE that whimsy floral top on you.

I love the little brown ballet flats you’re wearing in some of the pics! I’ve been searching for something similar… Can you tell me what brand they are?

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Thanks C! They are Ecco but from a few seasons back… maybe try poshmark?

I love the floral top on you…I would even go casual with it…with denim…distressed jeans or a cute jean skirt…boho style…tan suede booties and a fringy bag….so cute! Love the purple dress on you…totally stunning! I also love your hair in the photos…did you do something different? Bangs? looks so fun!

would a belt help the ‘Holiday Romance’ Print Fit & Flare Dress by City Chic fit better? the dress is really pretty but cannot tell how it fits without side (arms up, perhaps?) and back pics.

the Whimsey Floral Top by City Chic is gorgeous on you, would love to see if designer also made a dress with this pattern. beautiful fit. best use of off shoulder for a top that i’ve seen this spring.

The floral top might work with a blush pink pencil skirt, like the color of the flowers or one in the brown color and make those flowers pop.

Good idea!

I really like a lot if the items in this box. If I got items that looked like that and fit me like (most of them) fit you this would be a dangerous sub for me!

The one thing I really didn’t like (although so far polling disagrees with me) is that first dress. Man, I first thought that was going to be the “purple” dress they sent you and I thought: “Really? How uninspired?!?”. Then I saw that purple dress… Love! Love! Love! I can see you dressing that up or down. I particularly kinda want to see that paired with a motorcycle jacket for some reason.

I like both of the tops on you (even the first one). The second one feels so romantic.

The leggings are cool; but ,yeah…if you are not in the market for heavy black leggings definitely don’t spend $90 on them.

The bolero is fine. But nothing really special about it. I am also wondering why it is $80. Is it really nice fabric? Anyone in the market for a bolero should check out Etsy. Man, there are some beautiful boleros out there.

Ooo I like the moto jacket idea, Loba! Thanks!

Meg

Those were my exact reactions too!
First dress – “what? That’s not a ridiculous purple dress. How drab.”
Second dress – “LOVE IT!!”

Anna, you must keep that dress. It is fabulous on you. They hit it out of the park with that pick.

Anna

Wow thanks Meg!

Ragan

I had pretty good luck with Trunk Club for my first shipment. They seemed to think I was rolling in cash based on some of the prices (I opted not to have some $300 pants included in my shipment) but I did keep two items, which is better than I did for any of my three Stitch Fix shipments. Also everything fit (again, not something Stitch Fix could get right), although some of it was not right for my body type. But the stylist had never seen a photo of me so she couldn’t know that.

Anna

Glad to hear it Ragan!
