The FabFitFun Box is a quarterly subscription box featuring $200+ worth items in categories like beauty, fashion, and fitness. And for the Fall box, one of the main items is this Mer Sea Cozy Wrap!

(Check out my review of the Fall 2017 FabFitFun Box to see more about this scarf and everything else in the box.)

Here's how we're wearing it:

I decided to embrace the cozy vibes and muted tones of this scarf and go all in! Grey jeans, a light brown turtleneck, and lined boots - this will be my go-to weekend look for the fall!

From Jess:

It’s finally starting to feel like fall! To compliment my olive jersey dress and add some warmth, I layered over a studded leather jacket and added some slingback booties. The gray ombré version of this FabFitFun scarf kept my look neutral. I love its soft knit and textured finish! The tasseled ends also add a bit of interest to my ensemble — not to mention the cozy factor.

From Marne:

Scarves are my favorite fall accessory so I'm really excited that the temperature is dropping! I opted to style the teal ombre color against a neutral chunky sweater, black skinnies, and my favorite leather jacket (which is basically my uniform until spring). I like to call this way to tie a scarf the "Boston Loop" since took note of guys wearing it that way in the frigid Boston winter in the early 2000s. All you do is fold the scarf in half, drape around your neck and pull the fringe end through the loop. Super cozy!

From Lacey:

As someone who is cold most of the time, I practically swaddle myself in scarves like this one in the winter. I decided to use the blush colorway to tone down a neon yellow summer dress and work it into my fall wardrobe. Folding the wrap back at the neckline like a collar helps things look more polished, and adding a belt on top is a great way to add a little shape back in and keep it in place throughout the day! I love that from the front it looks like a vest rather than a scarf, and I could easily throw a jean jacket on top for even more autumnal coziness.

From Anna:

The best thing about this scarf, in my opinion, is how HUGE it is! It was feeling a little bulky looped around my neck, but boy, is it cozy worn over my shoulders like a wrap! I feel like this is the dream scarf for an afternoon working at my favorite coffee shop, with its fuzzy fabric standing in for a cardigan.

Does everybody who washed theirs successfully own front loader washing machines or top loaders without the agitator?

I have a top loader with an agitator and it completely destroyed my scarf- cold water, delicate cycle. So sad. 🙁

I am at a loss as to people washing this right away. My first reaction was “yes…super cosy.” My second was oh no super shedding. So I put it in the dryer for ten minutes, cleaned out the lint filter and voila! Cosying me up right now with no shedding.

Lisa

Thank you for that advice. I’ve used it twice and my clothes are covered with the shed. Will use your dryer tip!

Shannon

I have a top loader, washed it in cold, low agitation (delicate) and it is soooo pilled and the fuzz is matted. I can ether spend too much time picking all the matted fuzz off or just put in Goodwill box. Too bad, when I unwrapped it, it was so soft and pretty-just got fuzz all over me, my husband , the car and my eyes. Bummer

Love, Love, Love This thread. I chose the gray one and I will wear it like Liz does. I’m uncomfortable any other way.e

You are all so cute! We don’t have much cold weather here, so I swapped mine to a good home where it will be loved lol! But if it’s included in the editors box, I might have to keep that one.

Kimberly

I got the green, but really want the grey. Anyone want to swap?

Currently wearing it at my office as a wrap, because the a/c around here is ridiculous.

It is so soft but I didn’t know about the shedding. I wore mine on the plane yesterday to cuddle on the plane – got off and looked a mess – was covered in fur and got stares in the airport. Didn’t know I need to bring a lint brush to wear it. So that made me sad. Hoping if I throw it in the dryer that might help. Suggestions?

I put mine in a ziplock bag the night before I wear it and put in the freezer….. it helps bind the fibers together, so it won’t Shea’s as much!!

Such an interesting suggestion – thank you! We will try it here at Mer-Sea! Sawn

Jessica

Yes me too! I did the same on the plane and it shed all over me.

Love this post, Love getting ideas on how other’s use items too.

It is so soft and cozy, still pretty warm here to wear a scarf but have snuggled with this as a wrap while reading

This will be great when it gets colder. I have to wait with my daughter for the school gate to open in the morning, and I can share this with her when we are both freezing.

I love this! I need to wash mine to help with shedding. I’d love to see how you all wear the belt. I’m clueless with that one!!

What a fun post! I’m loving all the different things MSA is coming up with!

These scarves are wonderful, I mean, must-have for the fall and winter seasons. I’ve always worn a circle loop scarf, bought from promopure last year, warm and comfortable, I am now planning on getting another one.

Is there a guide on how to de-fuzz this without ruining it? I’ve washed items based on user comments before that have destroyed garments, so if there is some sort of official instructions on how to get rid of the fuzz without having to worry about shrinking it or otherwise destroying it, I’d love to hear read a post about that, too!

If garment preservation is a concern, I would suggest consulting a reputable and established laundry employee/owner. I would also recommend seeking advice from a laundry establishment which does their business in-house (some take the clothing/items to a larger facility to clean) as they would be more apt to provide better guidance. 👍

I washed mine in the washer on delicate & let it air dry. I haven’t worn it yet, but it didn’t shed on me while I was folding it to put away. I would wash it by itself if I were you, though–I put it in with my other delicates & it shed all over them (totally didn’t think about that beforehand or I would’ve washed it alone)

I swapped for the gray one and it came on the same day I came down with an awful cold. It was heavenly to snuggle up with on the sofa and drink tea until I felt better. I adore mine. Now I desperately want the teal for my daughter for Christmas. She just moved into her first studio apartment and it’s decorated in teal and burgundy. It would be perfect! Besides I just know she’s going to try to steal mine as soon as she sees it lol.

It’s still in the 80s and 90s where I live. We had a few cooler days and I wore it at night. My kids and I can’t wait to go to a hockey game. We have 2 scarves, and we’ll share them to keep warm during the game. My youngest periodically walks up to where it’s hanging by my closet, rubs her cheek on it for a few minutes, and tells me she wishes it was cold outside so she could use it. It is so, so soft!!

lol that’s awesome! 🙂

Hmmm. That’s definitely a blanket to me.

Laura

I agree with Anna and love wearing it around my shoulders. My house is drafty and I work from home so this is perfect!

I love this! I got the grey one and I love it! It’s so big and cozy. I would have really liked a teal one too. I’m going to try a few of those looks.

I washed it on gentle cycle with my sweaters and it came out great. Did ya’ll use the dryer on gentle/low or air dry them?

Reply ButtonReply

Gabriela

I hand washed it and used the dryer with gentle cycle. It took forever, but eventually it was dry. 🙂

Nice looks. Wish I got the grey. Would match my fall color palette. Got the beige one. Can’t remember the last time I wore anything in the brown or beige category. Not even with jeans. Guess it’ll be a Christmas gift. 🙁

AmyM

I LOVE this feature, please keep doing it. Now I want every color of this scarf! You all look fantastic!

Thanks, AmyM, we have fun with these types of posts, so that’s great to hear! 🙂

Bethany

Love this post! It’s still too hot where I live to even think about wearing this yet, but nice to see the different looks!

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Thanks, Bethany! Hope you get some cooler weather soon 🙂 (Or at least this wrap is good to have on hand for air conditioning!)

Bethany

So true! That’s what I need to do–wash/dry it to help with the shedding and then take it to work–it would look much classier than my current fleece lap blanket! Thanks for the idea, Liz!
