Now, on to the items!

So Susan Cosmetics Universal Blush - Value $28

This blush has great pigment, and the shimmer is just gorgeous!

(Swatched in lower photo.)

Trifle Cosmetics Cream Bar in Jam Smear - Value $21

This is a creamy lipstick crayon with excellent pigment and a matte finish. The color is a berry wine shade - very appropriate for fall! (Oh, and it smells great, too!)

(Swatched in lower photo.)

Jelly Pong Pong Eye Smolder in Deeds - Value $24

I feel like I saw this with every makeup product in this subscription, but again, the pigment is fabulous! This is a shimmery bronze eyeliner crayon that is smudge proof, too.

Here it is swatched beneath the blush and lip crayon:

Elements of Aliel Love Cleanser - Value $15

This is a liquid African Black Soap facial cleanser. The formula was great at cleaning my skin and removing makeup, but it did dry my skin out a bit.

(And the cleanser is a liquid that probably would be better suited to a tube container.)

And each So Susan Lip Love comes with a new makeup bag:

Limited Edition Makeup Bag - Value $12

I love the print this month!

The bag is made with a spill-proof vinyl material with a fabric lining.

Verdict: This month's So Susan Lip Love bag has a value of about $100! I think that value is fantastic for a $21 ingredient-conscious beauty subscription box.

If you are looking for a vegan, ingredient-conscious makeup subscription, I can't recommend this one enough. The value is great, the formulas are great, and the bonus bag is always super cute!

Would you do Verses with this against Ipsy or is this on a whole separate sorta category….meaning like a head to head ? Does a makeup bag come every month and full-size makeup as well? One thing I don’t like about Ipsy is the mask and serums no matter how often I say I don’t like them I still get them. Though it’s more pricey and vegan doesn’t matter to me one way or another, I do love everything in this box.

I think when MSA does a “vs” post, it’s usually against boxes with similar pricing, delivery, & products (both types & sizes). Since Ipsy is a $10/month subscription and So Susan is $21/month, I don’t think these would be comparable in a head-to-head post. The only box I could think of that this could be compared to is Boxycharm since it’s also $21/month, primarily focuses on makeup and contains full-sized products. But, I’m not sure if it’d be a good comparison since So Susan tends to focus mostly on brands under the So Susan line (i.e. Trifle Cosmetics, Jelly Pong Pong, etc.) whereas Boxycharm focuses on a variety of brands, some of which can be found in stores like Sephora.

If anyone doesn’t want the bag, let me know! My 8yo daughter is obsessed with big cats and would LOVE it as a pencil holder for school!!

I always love their blushes. This is the nicest box I’ve seen reviewed yet. Very tempting.

So Susan is a great sub! Products are top quality and the bag is always adorable! A real bargain.

I really miss their old bag designs that looked like pastoral Korean cartoons, but I guess I have to accept that they’re probably never going back to that.

Terry

Hmmm, I’m very tempted but I’m totally overrun with beauty and makeup! 🙁

EEEEEEEeeeeEEEEEEeeee I can’t wait! Part of me wants to hang on to all the packaging & boxes that these products come in every month and display them, they’re just so adorable. The little girl inside me gets so excited that everything is so pretty and smells soo good 🙂

I thought it was a different color a couple of months ago – a pinker shade.
