Akibento is a monthly subscription box for anime & manga enthusiasts. Aki is short for Akihabara, a district in Tokyo famous for their anime and manga goods. Akibento sends "authentic and original figures, collectibles, manga, apparel, accessories and more" with a guaranteed exclusive t-shirt and $60+ in value each month.

Akibento Monthly Pin - Retail Value $1.00?
Every Akibento box comes with a little pin to suit the theme.
Exclusive Akibento Combat T-Shirt - Estimated Value $25.00?
I couldn't find this shirt on the Akibento online shop, so I linked to another exclusive design on the Akibento site. (It looks like they've been expanding their t-shirt options, and the prices seem to range between $20.00 and $25.00.) I love the colors here. It's a cool homage to Celty from Durarara!!
Durarara!! Patch - Retail Value $6.61
There's another Celty item in the box—this cool patch! I like that it's on the smaller side (it's just under three inches tall), so it can go on a lapel, sneak onto a backpack pocket, or even adorn the shoulder of a jean jacket. You can get kind of creative with it in a way that's tougher with bigger patches.
Blue Exorcist Dad Hat - Retail Value $19.50
I love that these kinds of hats are becoming known as "dad hats," haha! This one has Rin's blue flames embroidered on the front. It's pretty comfortable and a low-key, trendy way to nod to your anime fandom.
Blue Exorcist Rin Sticker - Retail Value $5.99
There's also a sticker version of Rin that's about 4.5 inches tall. It's not the thickest sticker in the world, but it has a good gloss on it. Not all Akibento items are licensed, but I think this one actually is.
Exclusive Death Note Bandana - Retail Value $15.99
How fun is this bandana? You can wear it however you want, but it's meant to pop up over your nose so that it looks like you've got a Death Hunter's face. I think it's super clever, and I like the silhouetted patterns running around the edge, too.
Death Note Funko Pop Figure - Retail Value $15.99 (Found here for $12.99)
Look at this spooky little Ryuk! I love the detail on his clothes (especially his feathery shoulders) and the fact that he's got his apple, too!
Bonus Item: Exclusive 2Spooky Sticker - Retail Value $3.99
The last item in the box is this tribute to YouTuber, 2Spooky. I'm always kind of so-so on the fan-inspired items that come with this subscription. It's cool that they honor the anime-loving community, but as someone who doesn't follow a lot of YouTube channels, it always feels a little random to me. I'm glad this one is framed as a bonus item!
The Verdict: This Akibento box was just a little spooky, so it was perfect for the Halloween season. Everything seemed to be pretty nice quality, and I really liked that there are a few licensed items here, rather than all Akibento-designed pieces. I think the Ryuk Funko Pop was my favorite thing in the box—he's just as adorable as he is haunting!
