Trunk Club is a clothing styling service for both women and men. Similar to Stitchfix, subscribers fill out a detailed style profile which, in turn, your assigned stylist uses to handpick clothes, shoes, and accessories. There is a $25 styling fee which is credited towards whatever you decide to keep.
The quality of this box is incredible! It looks like a suitcase trunk and is made of thick cardboard. There's a handle at the top of the box which was great when carrying the box around my house.
Trunk Club is a Nordstrom company, and they send similar brands that range in the $75-300 range. In the style profile, you can choose your preferred price range for each category (ie. $50-100, $100-200, or $200+)
The items in this box are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Trunk Club may be completely different!

My box arrived with a packet of info and shipping materials for anything I decide to return.
When I originally completed my style profile, I was matched to a stylist, Kaley. We discussed my profile and I shared her on my Pinterest board for style inspiration! After requesting a specific cardigan and comfortable shoe options, Kaley curated a box and sent me a preview. At that point, I was able to remove items I already had similars of or that I didn't foresee wanting and replacements were included instead.
Here's a list of what was sent, along with pricing if I decide to keep anything. They also sent instructions of what to do next, including providing Kaley feedback using their app. You are given five business days to try everything on and ship back whatever you do not want to keep. You can also ask for an extension if you need more time. I can drop my box back off at any UPS location, or I can schedule a free pickup through the Trunk Club app or website!
Free People Park City Pullover, size XS - Cost to keep: $108
We're starting this month's Trunk Club off feel cozy! This oversized sweater from Free People is a size smaller than I normally wear, but you'd never know it. I'm very happy Kaley sized down because it fits well in the shoulders. Made of a cotton/acrylic blend, the knitting is very pretty and a nice quality. I like the oversized sleeve trend, but I also feel like I'm swimming a bit in this sweater. I like it, but don't love it.
TOMS Lenox Sneaker, size 8 - Cost to keep: $88.95 (currently on sale for $53.37)
During the holiday months, I participate in holiday craft and artisan fairs, which means I'm on my feet for long periods of time. I specifically asked for comfortable flats, and I can't think of a better choice Kaley could have sent. This is the second pair of TOMS shoes I've received in Trunk Club and the quality has been really great each time. These sneakers are made of tan suede and have matching laces. Along the sides is a cool weave that adds a slight boho touch. I'm not really a sneaker-wearer, but this pair has me changing my tune. The soles are padded and they are super comfortable!
BP V-Neck Dress, size S - Cost to keep: $49
I was unable to find this dress online, so I've noted the cost to keep price from the invoice. This is a pretty basic heathered cream deep v-neck dress, but I like the dolman-style sleeves and the fabric's lining. Made of rayon and spandex, the overall fabric is super soft and a tad stretchy, but what's more interesting is the soft, almost fleece-like lining. It's a great simple dress for $49!
Franco Sarto Rachella Flat, size 8 - Cost to keep: $98.95
I am loving metallic shoes right now, so I'm glad to see these. They are a traditional loafer flat, made of leather. They were slightly stiff when I first tried them on, but they fit true to size and are relatively comfortable. There's no padding involved, but the leather started to break in as I walked around. It's unlikely I'll keep these due to the price tag, but they were a nice choice to try on.
Leith Blouson Sleeve Cardigan, size S - Cost to keep: $79
So, I was perusing Nordstrom.com one sleepless night and I came across this cardigan, but unfortunately, the color black wasn't available in my local store. So, I decided to request it in this month's trunk! This service is really great; I literally sent Kaley a link and she was able to include it. Unfortunately, I don't love this maxi cardigan as much in person. It too is made of an acrylic/nylon/Elastane blend, but this time, you can feel a difference in fabric quality. I can foresee pilling and my pup's hair all over this in a matter of no time. The shawl-like collar, pockets and oversized sleeve details are what initially drew me in and are equally cool on, but I'm sadly going to pass on this.
Topshop Moss Wide Sleeve Sweatshirt, size 4 - Cost to keep: $65
I haven't tried many styles from Topshop before, but I am really liking this brand! This sweater is made of 100% acrylic but it doesn't feel inexpensive. The front and back of this soft pink sweater is a basket-like weave knit, while the sleeves are more of a traditional purl knit. I like the contrast! I especially like the thick, structured crew neckline, along with the wide and slitted sleeve cuffs. I may just have to add this to the keep pile. 🙂
Seychelles Dwelling Bootie, size 8 - Cost to keep: $139.94
I <3 Seychelles and super happy Kaley included another metallic shoe this month! They are made of leather, but the bronze metallic finish makes the shoe look nicely weathered and really cool. The sides are notched and there is a zipper on the arch side. The soles are slightly padded and the 1.5" heel make these are comfortable option to consider. I'm on the fence about the price, since I've fallen in love with this next $100+ item...
Topshop Kimono Embroidered Sweatshirt, size 6 - Cost to keep: $125
This top is incredible! The end. 🙂 When I first read sweatshirt in the Trunk preview, I thought the top's fabric would be super thick and casual, but that's not the case at all. It's made of polyester and Elastane, and the fabric has a crepe-like hand feel. It feels higher end and I'm not surprised by the price tag. I was surprised by the larger-than-normal size, but it's just a number. More importantly, this oversized silhouette fits really well and I'm comfortable wearing it. The embroidered floral is truly top-notch. Soft pinks and greens adorn the front and back, and along the dolman sleeves. I like that the floral pattern is asymmetrical too!
Treasure & Bond Ruch Knit Dress, size S - Cost to keep: $59
Lastly, I received a cool and modern midi-length black dress. Made of a polyester/rayon/spandex blend, there's a ton of stretch but I still feel comfortable wearing the body-con silhouette and love the long sleeves. One thing I don't love, however, is the ruching along the left side seam. It feels slightly dated and a trend I never loved a few years ago. The price is great for the quality, but I'll likely pass since I can't see beyond the ruch. However, on Nordstrom's site:
When you buy Treasure & Bond, Nordstrom will donate 2.5% of net sales to organizations that work to empower youth.
Verdict: This may be my most favorite Trunk Club yet! Kaley nailed it with the color, texture, and shoe options for my upcoming art shows. There was a nice balance of price points from new-to-me brands and those I've loved for a while. Trunk Club continues to be my favorite box to receive each month and I definitely look forward to next month.
For the $25 styling fee (which includes free shipping and returns), I feel Trunk Club is an easy process start to finish and a low-risk way to discovering high-quality brands and trends. You will definitely pay more out of pocket for the styles you keep, but you’re guaranteed Nordstrom brands.
To Wrap Up:

Value Breakdown: This box cost $25 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the 9 items inside is $812.84. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, but if I choose to keep anything, the $25 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase. That's an average $87.54 an item, which is on par with the brands included.
