Fandom of the Month Club November 2017 Review
You'll first see a card that normally calls out the theme, although this one doesn't seem to fit the included items. after looking at their Instagram account, I saw that this month marks their 3rd year anniversary and includes items from their favorite fandoms!
Each month, you'll get a pouch from Fandom of the Month Club which all of the contents fit nicely into. Since this month marks their 3rd Anniversary, it has their owl logo carrying a big 3 through the sky, wearing a crown. Happy Anniversary, FOTMC!!
Home is Where the Netflix Is Magnet
You also always receive a magnet, and this month's really resonates with me. Like most introverts, I am a Netflix-a-holic and binge watch with the best of them. Currently, I'm zooming through Marc Maron's show, Maron.
Han Solo Trapped in Carbonite Key Ring
I know this is Han Solo trapped in carbonite, but truth be told I've only seen two of the three original Star Wars and don't much remember them. Does seeing the last two count as anything? Anyhow, while struggling to understand how or why this happened, Andy made the quip "Be like Jabba and carry the galaxy's number one bounty hunter with you wherever you go". Well said, Andy. Bravo.
Beauty and The Beast Patch
I'll tell you, I was really tempted to go see the live action Beauty and The Beast movie that came out this year, mainly because my beloved Dan Stevens played The Beast. But since he was all CGI'd out, I decided it may not be worth it for me. This 4-inch tall embroidered patch is just like the stained glass window that immortalizes the final scene after Belle breaks the spell and The Beast turns back into a handsome Dan Stevens. Luckily, this is an iron on so it's easy to affix to a jacket or sweatshirt.
#FandomLife Silver Bracelet
A gift for all of the loyal FOTMC members here's a silver plated bracelet that is adjustable to fit your wrist that is stamped with #FandomLife. It also has a little heart punched out of the back to show you great love.
Game of Thrones Dragon Scales Ring
This is one serious ring! There are three dragon scale "stones" of red, yellow, and green to symbolize Daenerys Targaryen's three dragons on a silver spiral band. You can bend it to better fit your finger and it spans about 1.5 inches tall as shown. Wear this to truly feel like The Mother of Dragons.
Stranger Things Embroidered Pendant Necklace
The last fandom item is from a little show called Stranger Things. Not sure if y'all have heard of it? It's kind of underground. This embroidered pink fabric is attached to a metal pendant that hangs on a chain about 13 inches long when laid flat. It's letters and Christmas lights refer to the first season which poor Will's Mother used to communicate with her lost son from beyond the Upside Down.
Verdict: Fandom of the Month Club's anniversary box was a little all over the place this month due to the theme being "favorites" instead of a more concentrated fandom. Some I knew more about than others, but it's always kinda fun to do a little research or ask friends what it's referencing. I received six items (not including the pouch) for $16.75, which seems like a good deal so long as you like the theme of the month!
