Akibento "Universe" Box March 2018 Review
This month's theme is "Universe".
Akibento Monthly Pin - Estimated Value $1.00
Every Akibento box comes with a little 1-inch pin to suit the theme.
Exclusive Akibento T-Shirt - Estimated Value $25.00
I couldn't find this shirt on the Akibento online shop, but most of their tees range between $25.00-$30.00. I love this Evangelion-inspired tee!!! What an awesome design.
Black Rock Shooter Mouse Pad - Estimated Value $12.99
I couldn't find this mouse pad on the site shop, but another exclusive mouse pad was priced at $12.99 retail. I like the Black Rock Shooter inspired design, though, the angle of the illustration is a little confusing. The colors look great on my desk!
Super Saiyan God Goku Plush - Retail Value $14.99
This plush Goku is so cute! It's only 6" tall, so it's on the smaller side. I think it's super sweet and looks adorable on my bookshelf. I've never seen a Super Saiyan God version of a plush, so I'm stoked.
Black Rock Shooter Sticker - Retail Value $3.00
This is a really awesome sticker. I love the style of Black Rock Shooter, so it's no surprise that I love the cool art of this design. The sticker itself is on the bigger side at about 4.5" long, so it'd look awesome on a laptop or notebook.
Naruto Ramen Cup, 2.25 oz. - Retail Value $1.69
Who loves ramen more than Naruto? This is a cute little fan item that's also pretty yummy! Salty, noodle-y... it's nothing fancy, but the concept is cute.
Neon Genesis Evangelion Playing Cards - Retail Value $5.90 (Found here for $4.72)
These cards are cool, though I have to admit, I don't play cards that often. But as a collector's item, it's a fun set. I could see picking out my faves and tacking them to my wall like little art prints, too.
The Verdict: This month's box was pretty cool, mostly because I'm an Evangelion fan. (That t-shirt is rad!!!) I felt a little underwhelmed by the playing cards and ramen, just because they didn't feel as special to me. But the plush toy is super cute and the sticker is very cool. I paid about $29.95 for the box, which means the average price I paid for each of the 7 items is about $4.28. That's a bit more than what the ramen and the sticker retail for, but I think it's fair when you consider the more valuable items like the plush and the tee.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Sign up by the 19th of this month to get the upcoming box!
Value Breakdown: This box cost me $29.95 (cost + shipping). I couldn't find retail values for all of the items, but what I could find already adds up to about $25.58. That means the remaining 3 exclusive items (the t-shirt, the pin, and the mouse pad) must have an average value of at least $1.46 each.
