Check out all of my FabFitFun Box reviews and the Women’s Subscription Box Directory!
This box comes with a card detailing each of the items included. (FYI - FabFitFun has offers customization for the Editor's Box. I'll show you all the options in the review.)
FabFitFun sends out a mini mag in each box. It details the items included and also provides background on some of the featured makers and designers.
Now, time for the items!
Spongellé Body Wash Infused Buffer in Papaya Yuzu - Value $16
(This item will be in all boxes.)
This is one of my favorite subscription box beauty discoveries!
If you aren’t familiar with Spongelle, you are in for a treat! It infused with body wash, and the sponge is firmer than your typical bath pouf, so you get exfoliation added in, as well! (And it should last for at least 14 uses!)
Ahava Mineral Hand Cream – Retail Value $33
(Good to know for swapping – this item has an inner foil seal.)
(This item will be in all boxes.)
The formula is super hydrating, but it somehow still absorbs almost immediately – no greasiness! AND! FabFitFun sent us the extra-large version! I think they did a great job sending two all-star beauty products in every box!
Yumi Kim Makeup Train Case – Retail Value $58
(All subscribers will receive this item. You'll either receive this one or the floral version pictured in this review.)
This is a quality makeup train case! The materials (shell is PVC, lining is polyester) make it easy to wipe up any makeup spills, too.
The top section of the case includes a section for makeup brushes and a zippered compartment. And there’s a second zippered section on the bottom for more storage:
This case measures about 10 inches long, 6 inches across, and about 5 inches deep. It fit all my makeup with room to spare!
Now, for the variation items! (FabFitFun sent me all variation items so I can give you the details on every option, but subscribers will only get the items they select.)
Here is the first choice all subscribers can make:
Foreo Luna Fofo – Retail Value $89
(You can pick this item OR the Trina Turk Turkish Towel.)
This is a brand new product from Foreo – it isn’t even available to purchase yet! (It’s officially launching first in the Summer FabFitFun box!)
FYI – if you’ve seen the mini Foreo Play in subscription boxes before, this is larger (about 2.5 inches across). Here it is in hand to give you a better sense of scale:
(This is the Fofo I got in my Summer box - colors will vary.)
If you aren’t familiar with the Foreo, it’s a pulsating device that allows you to get a much deeper clean when cleansing your face. (Similar to a Clarisonic.)
I’d been a Clarisonic user for years, but last year I switched to Foreo thanks to the first time I sampled this device!
Both Clarisonic and Foreo do a great job of cleaning my skin thoroughly. The big difference for me is the silicone brush surface area. It’s nonporous and will resist any bacteria build up. With Clarisonic, you have to always buy replacement brush heads. (At $22 a new brush head, switched out every 2-3 months, the costs add up!) Plus, this design is way cuter! 🙂
And it has a replaceable AAA battery. (The battery should last for up to 400 uses before needing to be replaced.)
And see those two metal skin sensors on the back? This new Foreo is extra high-tech! You download their app, then use the sensors to analyze your skin, and get a custom cleansing plan that syncs with the device.
Alternatively, you can pick this Turkish Towel instead of the Foreo:
Trina Turk Turkish Towel - Retail Value $78
This Turkish towel is 100% cotton, super soft, and absorbant, too. (And it's a thin enough material that it can double as a beach wrap.)
Here's a closer look at the pattern:
And here I am holding it up to give you a better sense of scale:
I'm pretty much obsessed with Turkish towels! They're great for adding some summer color to your couch or the foot of your bed, too.
Here is the second choice all subscribers can make:
Free People Understated Leather Eyemask – Retail Value $40
(You’ll receive this in grey or the mint pictured here.)
You can pick this item OR the Necklace OR the Purlisse Moisturizer.
This is a vegan leather sleep mask filled with a removable cooling insert. The opposite side is a soft fabric so it’s comfortable to wear:
And here is the removable cooling insert that you can pop in the fridge:
I just used this (sans insert) for blocking out any light on a redeye flight and it was a lifesaver!
Alternatively, you can pick this Necklace:
8 Other Reasons Landon Lariat - Retail Value $48
This silver-tone necklace is nickel and lead free, and measures about 13 inches long with a 4-inch extender.
Here it is on:
Alternatively, you can pick this moisturizer:
Purlisse Blue Lotus Balancing Moisturizer - Retail Value $45
I'm always happy to see Purlisse in a subscription box (it's a great ingredient-conscious skincare brand). This moisturizer is light, absorbs quickly, and is so gentle on my skin. (Also it has a matte finish, so it's great to use before makeup application.)
Here is the third choice all subscribers can make:
ISH Beauty Lip Statement Palette – Retail Value $42
(You can pick this item OR the Dr. Brandt Primer.)
The pigment is great throughout the palette, and the formulas are moisturizing and creamy.
Here are all the shades swatched:
Alternatively, you can pick this primer:
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Luminizer Primer – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $38
This primer is designed to help blur pores/imperfections and prep skin for makeup application. It provides just the faintest glow, gives your skin a smooth finish, and feels like you aren’t wearing any makeup. I wear a full coverage foundation, so the glow part is lost on me, but I’m still happy with this primer.
Next up, we have choices you can make if you select the annual plan. (If you stick with the quarterly plan, you'll receive one of these items at random.)
Whish Beauty Rice Milk + Rose Creme Cleanser - Retail Value $24
This is another ingredient-conscious beauty brand, and this formula smells SO good! It's gentle, soothing, and didn't strip my skin of oils. A+!
Alternatively, annual subscribers can pick this silicone makeup applicator:
MakeupDrop Original – Retail Value $20
I received this in a few other subscription boxes and I am a huge fan! Typically, I use a beauty blender or a stippling brush to apply liquid foundation. This silicone applicator gets the same flawless application look of the beauty blender, but it has additional benefits:
- No foundation absorbing into it! With a Beauty Blender or brush, I’m always losing some foundation to the tool itself, but this silicone isn’t porous, so all makeup goes on your skin!
- Super easy cleanup! Just soap, water, and towel it off and it’s good to go! No waiting for beauty blenders/brushes to dry!
Also, this glitter is a fun addition!
Alternatively, annual subscribers can pick this Trigger Point Ball:
Maji Sports Trigger Point Ball - Retail Value $24.95
This rubber ball is great for travel, or just precision massage compared to a larger foam roller.
Here are some ways you can use it:
Here is the last choice all annual subscribers can make:
Korres Shower Gel in Japanese Rose - Retail Value $18.50
This is a creamy, fragrant body wash. (And good news if you are like me and don't like unnecessary artificial dyes - the bottle makes it look like the formula is red, but it's clear!)
Alternatively, annual subscribers can pick these skin reviving pads:
Tula Probiotic Skincare Dual-Phase Skin Reviving Pads - (Set of 5) Retail Value $26
I really like the concept behind these pads. You slip your middle finger and index finger into the pad opening, apply the serum side first, then follow with the textured side for exfoliation.
The only thing I didn't like about these, was the material choice. As soon as I started applying it to my skin, the cotton from the pad started forming little cotton balls all over my face! That issue aside, the formula was great.
Verdict: This box has a retail value of $301-$336 depending on your choices.! I think this is a fabulous Editor's Box - they included some of the most popular items from past boxes and some brand new items, too. It's a good mix! (Honestly, I think this box is worth it for the Foreo alone!)
And I love that they are letting new subscribers customize their first box! (Once you are a subscriber, you'll have the option to pick some of your items every season, and if you are an annual subscriber, you'll be able to pick your color choices for some items, too.)
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! Make sure to sign up asap as supplies for customization are limited.
COUPON - Use coupon code MSA to save $10 off this box!
Value Breakdown: Since there are so many variations, I can't do a typical breakdown, but if you bought this for $40 (after the $10 MSA coupon), you are paying only $5 an item!
