Bombfell is a men’s clothing and accessory subscription box service that focuses on vamping up the styles in your everyday wardrobe. When signing up, you take an in-depth survey so your personal stylist gets a feel for whom you are, what your style is, and what you’re looking for out the service. What makes Bombfell a little more unique compared to other styling services, is that you get to see the stylist’s picks before they ship! So if you are unhappy with any of the pieces, you can simply let them know to filter in something else that would better fit you and your style!

These items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Bombfell may be completely different!

Bombfell July 2018 Review

This is my first-ever hands-on review of Bombfell! When you're starting a Bombfell subscription, you'll first go through a series of questions to build up your style profile while also helping them decide what types of items to send:

It starts with sizing and the general look that you're going for.

Then you'll start building up some preferences - starting with retailers that you already shop with.

Outfits that appeal to you.

And finally, the price point you'd like to stay within when receiving your clothing. Bombfell is a styling service, so you'll only pay for what you like and you'll mail back anything you don't.

One piece of the experience that I really enjoyed was actually being able to choose up to 5 clothing types for your next shipment:

You can choose to be surprised or you can get specific with the type of clothing items you want to try. This is very useful to me since I live in a spot where I need different items for pretty much all 4 seasons. For my first delivery - I went with 2 pairs of shots and a t-shirt.

You'll first be greeted by this little welcome package. Inside, you'll find a bunch of useful items:

Ways to help you get better items from your stylist.

A little notebook to keep track of each delivery.

And, of course, a pen and a tape measurer!

Perhaps the most important piece is this return label - don't lose this! You'll need this to ship back anything you don't want to keep.

And on the reverse side - they'll give you all of the details on how to return your package for both FedEx and UPS. Ours arrived via FedEx, but it looks like it could come from either carrier.

That was a lot. Ready for the actual clothes?

Sons of Fortune - Castle Rock Melange Stripe Tee (Black) - Cost To Keep: $25

In the summer, I just want a comfortable, breathable, basic t-shirt. This really hits all of those checks boxes for me!

The shirt is 100% cotton. While the fabric is on the heavier side, it's so breathable that I'm totally fine wearing it in this 90-degree weather. This one is a keeper.

Original Penguin - P55 Basic Short (Flint Stone) - Cost To Keep: $69

My first pair of shorts come from Original Penguin. To me, the fabric on these almost feels like swim trunks - and that was a turn off for me. Overall, they were cut slightly, and just slightly, too high to be a favorite for me.

Overall, they have basic front and rear pockets with a clean design on the legs.

Jeremiah - Merrill Pigment Slub Poplin Short (Ensign Blue) - Cost To Keep: $65

The last item in my shipment is a pair of dark blue shorts from Jeremiah.

This is more along the lines of the fabric I was looking for. Like the pair above, the pockets are pretty basic - but I like this little side pick for a small item - like your phone!

Verdict: I really enjoyed my first delivery from Bombfell! I'm the type of person who will shop online, but doesn't really enjoy going out to shop for clothes - so this was very useful for me. I thought they did a really great job hitting my style preferences on the first go around - so I can't wait for future shipments!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Bombfell curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $0 with free shipping and returns - Just pay for the items you keep!  The total retail value of the items inside my shipment today is $159, which is an average of $53 per item - and you'll save 15% off of the total cost if you keep all of the items in your shipment.

Hi Eric! Can you clarify the receipt page that you received which shows a $20 styling credit. Not sure where that comes from as I see the discount also as a line item deduction from the total. Is there a fee if you return the entire order? Or is that the $20 fee that is credited if you keep something? It looks like this sub can provide my hubbys sizes which is such a rarity that I am pretty interrested in the details of this subscription. He can’t find clothes locally either and we were JUST talking about it not two days ago so this might be a perfect fit!

Hello!

My invoice might look a little wonky since they sent this to us for review. The styling fee is $20. There is no charge to return the entire shipment, but in that case, you’d lose that $20 credit towards keeping an item(s). If you keep an item, the $20 styling fee will apply to the item(s) you keep.

I pulled this from the FAQ:
Your first $20 styling fee will be charged upon signup, and subsequent styling fees will be charged once your order is styled. This fee will be applied toward the cost of your purchase if you decide to keep any items. Before your order ships, we pre-authorize your credit card. After your order arrives, if you:

Mark an item as “Keep It” while checking out your order, we will charge you the next day for that item.
Do not request to return anything, we will charge your card for the full amount of the order after your try-on period ends.
If tracking on the included prepaid return label does not update for 3 days after you’ve requested returns to indicate they’ve been dropped off, you will be charged for the cost of any unpaid items that you had requested a return for. (We’ll email you a reminder to drop off your returns if you still haven’t dropped them off).

Hope this helps!
