Will this box be reviewed?

I would have been totally pissed if I had paid full price for this box! I got the GC 3 box sub and was wishing I would have got the longer subscription. I am so glad I didn’t. I’ve ordered from Luxor in the past so am familiar with their boxes and the, Usually, high quality items. This box was a total letdown!!! Casewll-Massey in a high end sub box….are you kidding me???!!! And in Lilac!!! EWE! A votive holder I could buy at Walmart for $5. The bracelet is ok but I have very small wrists and it looks terrible on me. Again, something I could buy for alot less than it is valued at. Just a HUGE disappointment!!!

Got my box today and I LOVE IT! The bracelet is such a beautiful statement piece. It’s hard to get it in since it’s small but once it’s on it’s perfect! The votive is Non lead Crystal and it’s so elegant, cannot wait to use it this holiday season! When I opened my box I could smell the soap and it was divine!!! I have been wanting to get a Luxor Box forever but I cannot afford it so I got the Gilt Deal. I still have a box this November and I am hoping they would offer a deal on Black Friday. Thanks for alerting us on the Luxor Gilt deal Liz! Love, love, love!

I received my box today. I purchased the Gilt offer for 2 boxes. My second payment has already been processed for the November box, so I need to figure out how to cancel yet still receive that box.
I like the items far more in hand than I thought I would from pictures. The votive holder throws light beautifully with a lit candle. Lilac is not a scent I regularly choose, but variety is nice. The bracelet works well for me. I usually wear dainty jewelry. I’m tall and not small but I have thin wrists and hands. Most rings and watches fall off. The bracelet fits and doesn’t look too bulky. I’m looking forward to wearing it when long sleeve weather comes.

I received my box today and I’m quite happy. I have larger wrists & hands and had no difficulty getting the bracelet on & off. I love the scent of lilac. The votive isn’t something I would’ve bought on my own, but I can’t wait to show it off.

So disappointed. I paid $150 for the May box which was the best ever and this just doesn’t compare, even if I got it discounted. Need consistency if they want to retain me as a customer after the deal is done.

I’m in the minority, but I loved this box. I have normal sized wrists and got the bracelet on by rolling it….was a bit tricky but not too difficult. I love love the votive and the lilac set. I can’t wait for November’s box!!

I managed to stay away from the spoilers until I received my box today because I wanted to keep the element of surprise. And boy was I…surprised. I got the 3 month GC deal so for the price I paid I’m okay. Definitely not thrilled, but okay. I would have been extremely peeved if I had paid normal or even founder’s pricing for this, so my sympathies to those who did and are upset. You have every right to be. At first I was a bit regretful that I didn’t buy a longer subscription from GC, but now I’m relieved. Two months of stuff like this for $38 a pop is okay, but I don’t need or want more. As far this box is concerned, I’ll be gifting everything except the bracelet. The bracelet isn’t exactly my style as like many others I usually wear thin bracelets, but as I see it, a big part of sub boxes is discovering and trying things you wouldn’t normally get for yourself.

I feel the same way! This box feels like it’s geared for someone much older than me (and I’m 44!!!!)

Reply ButtonReply

Sammee

Lol – I’m 41! And I just gave everything except the bracelet to my 67 year old mother 🙂 She’s happy.

I was very much looking forward to this box and was even liking the bracelet until I got it. It is way too chunky for my thin wrists and anyone with bigger wrists will have a hard time getting it on. The toiletries are nice and the candleholder will make a decent gift. This is not a fall box at all. At first I was wishing I had gotten the year from guilt now I am wishing I had not gotten it at all.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

Totally agree with you. The bracelet is way too chunky and … shiny … ostentatious. The toiletries are okay (for spring) and the votive holder is nice enough. Overall I think I am glad that I only have one more of these boxes coming.

All I can say is I’m happy I asked for a refund on the gilt deal. Two days after the deal came out and problems arose with the voucher, I cancelled. Phew!

Reply ButtonReply

Andrea

I’m so disappointed. I got the box with the Gilt City voucher and was really looking forward to trying it. I can’t believe the value is so poor (one over-priced bracelet and some toiletries) compared to others like FabFitFun or PopSugar…

I picked up a scented body lotion and shower gel set at Marshall’s not long ago for $7.99. But on the Caswell Massey website, they have some seasonal gift sets and other items I would love to have for the fall season. Move over Evelyn Crabtree .. lol

Oh, this has turned into a HORRID subscription box. It’s like they are a parody of what they were 2 years ago.
I cannot believe some people pay $36 for this box, which to me seems reasonable, and some are having to pay $125-130.

How can they possibly justify the $125 for some and the $36 for others in a box full of, well, IMO, JUNK.

If the bracelet is not precious metals and is not even enameled like the Halcyon Days bracelets were in the past boxes, which added a special touch to them, IMO, then it’s a bracelet that is going to tarnish, discolor, and be a pain to keep looking like it didn’t come from the sale bin at Macy’s or any other store with different price points of ” everyday jewelry”.

The rest of that stuff isn’t even imaginative or pampering, IMO. Lilac is definitely an antique scent. I wouldn’t wear it and I’m ” of an age”.

Lastly, when did Orrefors start selling cheap crystal? Wasn’t it a premium brand at one time? I have Waterford crystal candle holders which are very heavy cut lead crystal and cost around $100 each in the 1990’s.

This is so bad for the price it literally makes me so sad for those who paid full price.

Whoever it is that owns this subscription box company now, they are taking the money to the bank and the box is circling the drain because of it.

PLEASE, when the Black Friday deals come out, please do not commit to an annual subscription for a luxury gift offer this year. They are likely not going to be in business for 6 more boxes ( a year’s worth of subscriptions).

Both the photo of the Olsen twin and of Oprah are photoshopped with them wearing that bracelet. So shady. Just as bad as Oui Please stealing photos from Free People for the berets.

Reply ButtonReply

Katie

Yes!!! I had to come down to the comments to see if anyone else noticed that the pictures had the bracelet very poorly, in my opinion, photoshopped on the celebs arms! They might as well just say, “hey, we don’t care, so we aren’t even going to try, but please buy our shady box” unbelievable.

Amalia

I thought those pics looked a bit off! I didn’t get this box, but looks like a dodged a bullet – the bracelet and votive are not my style at all and the lilac products look decent, but not worth the price of this box.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

The original picture is at the bottom of the press page on the site for Janis Savitt but it’s from 2007 and she’s wearing different bracelets.

Taty

I like this box for the bracelet and the votive. Bracelet does not have much room and I have very thin hands and wrist, actually very shocking it is soo small. But it is a nice piece. Overall I got 3 months through Gilt, not bad but if it was a regular subscription which I will not be doing I would’ve been disappointed.

Reply ButtonReply

Barbara

Got my box today and for the Gilt deal that I had I am pleased with the box. Had I paid full price not really in all honesty. The bracelet fits me fine since I have small wrists but I am used to thinner bracelets but I will use when I want a statement piece. I am happy with the color choice I received which was the yellow gold, gunmetal & rhodium. The votive was very pretty and I did like very much the Caswell Massey products. I don’t really see a theme in this box and definitely not Fall at all but again I got my yearly subscription for $38 a box so overall I am very happy.

nana

I got the Gilt city deal for two months, and for what I paid, this was a good box, but it does not make me want to stay with the subscription at regular price.

The bracelet was almost too small for me. The votive is nice, but sort of generic – something you can pick up anywhere. I did like the lilac products, but I’m a big fan of lilac. I’d be bummed if it was a scent I was less fond of (say lavender).

All in all, unimpressive.

I was an early subscriber and still have the $97 rate, but I am leaning toward cancelling, this was the 3rd total fail box for me. Lilac in October? Fail. The bracelet is not me although it does stretch so will fit a medium to large wrist. However the last thing my wide little hands need is a set of fat bracelets. The votive would make a lovely gift but other than using it as a weapon, I can’t see it in my house. And I wear an Apple Watch. I know the one in the next box isn’t of interest to me. I think my 100 can be better spent on either popsugar or Rachel Zoe.

I am glad that my annual subscription ends with this September box. I have been with Luxor for over two years having last two years as annual sub, and can say that quality of the box went down pretty significantly. Yes, bracelet is pretty and I hope it does not disappoint me in person when I get my box. However, this type of statement piece may not be everyone’s “cup of tea”. Votive holder per comments here appears to be good too, but it is just a fraction of the box, and the rest of items look to me as an after-thought. Awhile ago, I would love at least 50%-75% of the box, but now I am at the appoint where I don’t even want to open box as I know I will be disappointed. I wish Luxor went back a year or so ago and re-evaluated content they offered then vs now. Big difference, and not for better 🙁

I have been with Luxor since the 1st box, I was going to cancel last year but they renewed me at the beginning of April, I thought the renewal would happen in May. So I’m stuck with the subscription till the mar box. If they dont improve I’m going to have to cancel in March before I get auto renewed again.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

Kind of sad this is my last box. Maybe after a small break I will renew but if they are going to be selling on Gilt for super cheap then it looks like it will be one nice item. And then fillers. Used to love the old boxes. I can only image what happened to the company after the travel vouchers. Sticking with PS and BOS since they release all spoilers in the box. Holding out for the winter boxes now.

PudgeKat

Yep, the votives are on sale for $20 at Newman Marcus.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

I saw that too. Last box for me so it is ok.

Tami Jansen

PS is popsugar what is BOS? I am always looking for other good booxes! 😁 Oh lord maybe I don’t need to know.

Rachel Zoe Box of Style. They release the whole box spoilers so you can decide if you want to purchase. They have only recently started doing this with the past few boxes. I have never had a problem with their customer service but others have.

Cynthia

Rachel Zoe Box of Style. Her boxes look good, but I’ve been afraid to try them since the comments on her customer service have been awful.

Elaine

So my @luxorbox arrived this morning! I’m not really sure how to feel.😕 I’m loving the bracelet, but if you’re have a bit bigger wrist, you’re going to be disappointed! It doesn’t have much room. 😮 I’m not a fan of the bath products. Lilac is probably one of my least favorite scents. A bit to old lady for me. Yes I’m a Nani, but not that old! The votive holder is beautiful! I’m sure ill find a use for it. I’m sorry @luxorbox but after the debacle in June, you fell short! 😤

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

I received my box and I really like the votive candle holder. The bracelet is beautiful but I like thin bracelets so I am going to put this one up for swaps.

Reply ButtonReply

ME

The bracelet is so much prettier in person and well worth the price of the box. The rest is filler which can easily be given away.

Reply ButtonReply

Marie

I hope so, I get mine tomorrow. I’m hoping the fillers are not very strong in scent or it will kill me to open the box. I wish they would have included something fall related like they did last year.

Reply ButtonReply

nana

I’m sorry to tell you that the soap is very strong scented. The soap itself is wrapped in plastic, covered in tissue paper and comes in a box – buried among paper in the Luxor box, but I could still smell it from the moment I opened the Luxor box. Now, I love Lilac so this was a plus for me – but if scent is a problem, be forewarned.

Kc

Seems like one luxe item and the rest filler? Wonder if this will be the new trend.

I agree. I was disappointed. I pay $95 a box and was not pleased. The bracelet is also extremely tight. I am holding out for the watch for next time and then will decide whether I continue. I think as a result of the gilt deals the value of the box will decrease and we will receive more beauty although I do like caswell-Massey. Would love to see evocateur in a box again.

Reply ButtonReply

Dayan

Guess I have the right to say this cuz I paid full price for annual.
Like other commentor said, she would’ve been pissed if paid full price for this box, I can tell you out loud now that yes, I’m indeed furious! 😡
For anyone paying $38 due to the gilt deal, congrats, u got a steal, but for anyone like me who paid $115+ like me, this is just a gigantic slap in the face yet again! 🤯 🤬
Too bad I still have 2 more boxes to go before I can stop being a whiney person, apologize in advance.

Reply ButtonReply

Marie

My sentiments, exactly. It’s as if Luxor forgot about their tried and true annual members. If the gilt deal was even a little bit closer in price to what the cost breakdown of an annual was, it wouldn’t be so hard to stomach. But knowing that I paid $125 for this is painful. Their customer service is awful, their attention to their true sub base is abysmal, and their selection of items is the mind numbingly boring. For those of us who paid for the LE box in December to see that they are doing HD watches in November – I’m floored. Where were those for the people who paid $400? Luxor won’t make it another year. They are too focused on screwing their full-priced paying subscribers to pay for new subscribers. It can’t sustain this kind of business practice in the long run.

Reply ButtonReply

Natalya

I am 100% with you. I would better save my money from Luxor annual sub and buy occasionally 5th Ave boxes. At least there I know that products will be top notch, and even with their delay in shipment I would be less upset by getting fantastic products late than getting lame box on time.

Reply ButtonReply

Helen

I’m pausing on 5th Ave. for now unfortunately. I’ve purchased two boxes “recently” (Nov ’17 and Mar ’18) and still haven’t received either. I get that they have shipping delays but every time I email customer service it’s “we’re going to ship shortly”. =( It’s a shame too because the very first box I purchased from them was awesome even though it took close to 3 months to get it.
