Trunk Club is a clothing styling service for both men and women. Subscribers work closely with their stylist to find a selection of pieces to try on at home, and they receive a trunk shortly thereafter. Trunks can be ordered as often as you like, so you can try it once, or have a trunk sent to you quarterly or monthly. Or even more frequently!
Trunk Club is a Nordstrom company, and they send similar brands that range in the $75-300 range. In the style profile, you can choose your preferred price range for each category (ie. $50-100, $100-200, or $200+)
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Trunk Club Plus Clothing July 2018 Review
So first, a little more about how Trunk Club works. When I signed up, I took a pretty lengthy style questionnaire online. Then I was matched with a stylist who asked me even more about what I like and what I was looking for via an online chat. Based on this information, she selected several items for me to try on at home. She then sent me a link to preview all my items! There is also an option to allow your stylist to send a few surprise pieces.
This packet was included in my trunk.
The front of the enclosed booklet now has instructions!
Inside is a note from my stylist, Sydney. It explains why she chose this month's pieces for me and gives a bit of styling advice. I like how accessible my stylist is.
This is my invoice. It lists the items I was sent and the cost to keep each item. My $25 styling fee will be deducted from anything I decide to keep.
These items were also in the packet. When I've finished repackaging the items I don't want to keep in the box, I just put this return label on it and use the tape straps to tape it back up! So convenient!
Freda Slide Sandal by Halogen - Cost to keep $89.95 (currently out of stock)
I really like the style of these slides, and I can see myself wearing something like this a lot, actually. I think it's pretty funky to have suede sandals! It makes for a good transition to autumn in a warmer climate like mine. Unfortunately, it is a fact that every time I get a new stylist (Sydney has been my stylist for about 3 months), I have to re-explain that I MUST receive wide sizes. Not just shoes that run a bit wide, they have to actually be a wide size, and sometimes those are not even wide enough. So, the two pairs of shoes I received this month do not fit. Bummer.
Sammy Sneaker by Ugg - Cost to keep $109.95
These sneakers are awesome. They have a knit upper and a really interesting boho texture/pattern. These are completely my style and fit both my aesthetic and lifestyle. Unfortunately, they do not fit my feet. (Gentle sobbing)
Kylie Fan Necklace by Gorjana - Cost to keep $85
I love love love how shiny jewelry from Gorjana always is! This necklace is just beautiful. Unfortunately, I have received several necklaces of this exact style thanks to subscription boxes. None of them are this shiny, but I don't think I can justify spending $85 for a bit more bling!
Flutter Sleeve Pintuck Top by Lucky Brand - Cost to keep $69.50
This cotton/viscose top is so pretty! The fabric is non-stretchy but very lightweight, so it has good, easy flow. It's a little sheer also. I love the detail at the neckline! I would completely love this top except I think the sleeves are really unflattering on me. I wish they were just a little longer.
Stretch Twill Utility Pants by Caslon - Cost to keep $89 (found on sale here for $53.40!)
I love a good pair of cargo pants! I am not sure exactly what that says about me, but the key word here is utility. These are not super flattering, but they fit like a dream. Unfortunately, I just bought a pair of pants almost exactly like these from JustFab. I don't think I can keep these too!
Smart Distressed Trucker Jacket by Lucky Brand - Cost to keep $99 (found on sale here for $59.40!)
A smart trucker should be able to handle a little distress, right? Haha, sorry, that was corny. So, it's time for my annual hunt for the perfect denim jacket for fall, and to be honest, I am really feeling this one! I thought the lack of a collar would be weird, but I actually quite like it. I think it's open enough to be flattering, and the lack of a collar opens the door to a wider range of scarf possibilities. I think it's pretty flattering, overall. I like it!
Floral Flutter Sleeve Top by Lucky Brand - Cost to keep $59.50
This top is SO representative of why I love Lucky Brand with all my heart. It's a soft cotton knit with a gorgeous, unusual print in lovely colors that go well together. The pintuck structure at the bust allows for a lovely flow through the body, and the tie at the neck is just the perfect amount of stylish detail. This is a keeper for sure!
Stretch Ankle Skinny Jeans by Slink - Cost to keep $78
I think in 2017 I tried on about 150 different pairs of Slink jeans, and I finally figured out the secret. If you choose your usual size, they will never fit. If they are skinny jeans, they will be too small, you need to size up. If you choose a relaxed fit, you will need to size down, they will be too big. These jeans, unfortunately, fall into the former category. They were a bit of a struggle to even model! I think I need to just let my stylist know, make a note, I'm just not interested in Slink jeans anymore. I like the color and length of these a lot, but I just can't even @ Slink anymore...
Knot Front Dress by Eliza J - Cost to keep $108
I absolutely love the super flattering cut of this dress! It's a polyester/spandex blend, but does not look or feel like it at all; it kind of feels like chiffon. It's spendy, but I think I need to keep it. It's so gorgeous! I kind of wish it had sleeves because I'm self-conscious about my arms, but soon enough it will be cool enough to wear a jacket...
Sylvie Tiered Hem Linen Tee by Sanctuary - Cost to keep $54
I am soooo in love with this top! I am adding this gorgeous linen tee to the many reasons I am looking forward to the weather cooling off. I cannot wait to wear it! First of all, I love the color - there are so few shades of pink I love and can also wear, but this is dead on perfect. I love the raw linen knit, which, unlike it's more highly processed cousin, does not wrinkle. The ties on the sleeves are so stylish, and I love the polyester chiffon hem. Such a cool detail!
Embroidered Tee by Caslon - Cost to keep $59 (found on sale here for $35.40!)
This cotton/modal blend top is so cute! It fits well and is flattering, too! This is an easy win! The color is really beautiful. I also, of course, love the embroidered yoke, too. Plus the price is right!
Floral Chiffon Shift Dress by Vince Camuto - Cost to keep $138
OK, let's be clear if this dress was not $138 and my second favorite dress in the box this month, I would keep it in a heartbeat, no question. However, things being as they are, I have to say that the print is a little too big for my tastes. Otherwise, I absolutely love the cut, and the colors are great. The length is also just right. Plus, the tie at the neckline is adorable!
The Verdict: I am a big fan of Trunk Club! This month was a mixture of hits and misses, which is typically true, but the hits were big! I really love the linen tee, the maxi dress, and the floral Lucky top. I think Trunk Club is a little on the spendy side, but it's still loads of fun to try all the pieces!
