I've worn glasses since I was in high school. The last time I wore contacts was for my wedding a few years ago, but even then, I missed my frames—I just find them to be so much more comfortable! The only downside of my glasses is that they change what makeup looks do and don't work best for me. Eye looks that would stand out on a glasses-free face don't pop quite so much on mine.

So I asked MSA's favorite local makeup artist, Brazil Raine to teach me a rose-gold eye look using the PUR Be Your Selfie eyeshadow palette offered in the FabFitFun winter box. I don't usually wear a lot of makeup, but I wanted to know how to add a little bit of glam for the holidays. Not only did she show me how to create a magical look that transcends my lenses—she also gave me tricks for working with my partially hooded eye, which requires a slightly different approach to applying shadow.

PS, if you like the PUR palette we used in this tutorial, you should check out FabFitFun. They always offer really nice quality makeup and beauty options in their boxes, as well as other great accessories and lifestyle items. Pur Eyeshadow Palette Rose Gold Look for Glasses-Wearers

First, Brazil used a small brush to pat the pale rose-gold shade Charming all over my lid.

Next, she used a fluffy brush to apply Pure, a peachy, more matte shade, into my crease. She worked it higher up towards my brow than I might've myself. Doing so helps the warm, pretty colors show up in spite of my heavier lid.

Natural is a toasty gold color with a matte finish. Brazil added this slightly richer shade to my outer crease.

Brazil added Free, which is a cocoa-colored matte shade to the very outer corners of my eyes and swept it up into my outer crease, too. These last two steps added so much depth and drama to the look!

One tip I found helpful was to really focus on accentuating my lower lash line, as a glasses-wearer. Doing so helps the look pop much more behind my lenses, since glasses frames can obscure what's going on around the top and corners of an eye look. In this case, Brazil used the warm lilac color Confident to add some boldness to my lower lash line.

Brazil finished up the look with a bit of liquid liner and mascara. She chose a peachy blush and a sheer berry lip to complement the rose gold eye look.

Here's the finished look. Even with glasses on, I feel like my eyes really stand out.

Great review, Emily! I wear glasses now, but mine are Tiffany frames, as you and I have opposite coloring ( I’m cool tones).

I just switched from my custom made contact lens last year due to the price, and I’ve felt so self- conscious about wearing glasses ever since.
Your review helped me accept my glasses and be thankful for the gift of sight.

Thank you!

So I have both of your eye concerns. I will try with another palette since I did not choose this one. Excited to see if it works on me. Thanks for sharing.
