FYI - FabFitFun offers customization for their boxes - so you get to pick out some of the items you receive! I'll show you all the items in the box that I selected, and then all the options you can pick from at the end of the review.

This is their latest Editor’s Box – if you are a current subscriber you will not receive this box, but if you sign up for a FabFitFun subscription, this will be your first box.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription Box: FabFitFun Box

The Cost: $49.99 a box sent every quarter

FLASH SALE - Use coupon code HOORAY to save $10 off of your first FabFitFun box and get $15 to spend in the Edit Sale!

The Products: The hottest seasonal items (worth at least $200) selected by the FabFitFun team

Check out all of my FabFitFun VIP Box reviews and the Women’s Subscription Box Directory!

This box comes with a card detailing each of the items included.

FabFitFun sends out a mini mag in each box. It details the items included and also provides background on some of the featured makers and designers.

Now, time for the items!

I'm going to start with the items that all subscribers will receive:

Pier 1 Mini Ceramic Prep Bowls - Retail Value $24.95

How cute are these bowls?! I love when FabFitFun includes home items in their boxes, and this set might be my favorite home inclusion yet!

These ceramic bowls have a pastel glaze and measure about 2.5 inches tall and 4 inches across.

They are dishwasher and microwave safe, too.

They are great prep bowls (Pier 1 recommends using them for a sundae topping station, cookie making, etc.) I think they are great for ice cream when I'm trying to not eat the entire pint, too!

Thrive Causemetics Eye Brightener Highlighting Stick – Retail Value $24

(All subscribers will receive this item.)

I’ve sampled this line before, and I’m so impressed with their formulas. This creamy eye crayon is vegan + cruelty-free; paraben, sulfate, + latex + petrochemical-free. And good to know, the bottom part is a built-in sharpener!

Here it is swatched:

It’s a subtle highlighter on my skin tone, which is great for me because I can use it for every day, less-makeup looks. The formula has almost a powdery finish, but it’s still really easy to blend.

You can use this as an upper or lower eyeliner, applied to the brow bone, lids and even the inner corners of your eyes to make them appear larger.

Spongelle Boxed Flower in Beach Grass - Retail Value $16

(All subscribers will receive this item.)

If you aren’t already familiar Spongelle Sponges, they are pretty amazing. They are infused with body wash, and the sponge is firmer than your typical bath pouf, so you get exfoliation added in, as well. (And this sponge should last you for about 14 washes!) They are pretty scented too, so they make your whole bathroom smell good!

BLAQ Hydrogel eye mask Set - Retail Value $29

These eye masks are formulated with Hyaluronic Acid and Activated Charcoal. They’re designed to help de-puff eyes. I’ve tried a lot of eye gels in my subscription box review days, and some of the gel ones don’t stay put, but these remained in place for the full 15 minutes. Personally, I don’t have under-eye puffiness (just super dark undereye circles), so I couldn’t notice a difference after using them, but I’m guessing they could be a gamechanger if you wake up with puffy eyes!

Rene Furterer Karite Hydra Hydrating Shine Mask - Retail Value $36

I'm going through a bit of a hair color mid-life crisis (is that a thing?), so this hair mask arrived at the perfect time. (I've gone from light brown to red, to dark brown, and I'm currently trying to go blondish.) My hairstylist told me I needed to use masks regularly to help hydrate my damaged hair, so I've been using this one every 3 days for the past few weeks. I love that it isn't too heavy, (some masks leave my hair looking greasy the next day), the scent is lovely, and it only takes 2-5 minutes to use!

Now, here are two choice items in the box for all subscribers:

Donni Tri-Color Scarf - Retail Value $99

(All subscribers can pick this set OR a Summer & Rose Celine Crossbody )

This scarf measures 29.5" x 69" and is 100% acrylic.

The knit is soft, and there are fringe accents on both ends. Here it is on:

My scarf collection is pretty colorful compared to the rest of my wardrobe, so this scarf almost feels like the missing piece to my collection - a nice mix of neutral colors!

GLAMGLOW Bubble Sheet (Set of 2) – Retail Value $18

(All subscribers can pick this set OR a Way of Will Essential Oil Set)

This was super fun to use, but it does get pretty foamy/bubbly, so I recommend using it before a shower, so you can easily rinse it off. You leave it on for about 3 minutes, remove, then use the remaining bubbles to cleanse your face – it creates a really rich foam lather.

My skin felt super clean after using it, but also a bit dried out, so just a heads up that you’ll likely want to follow this with your favorite face oil or moisturizer.

Now, here are two choice items in the box for all annual subscribers. (If you are a quarterly subscriber, FabFitFun will pick for you):

Aimee Kestenberg Marietta Flat Wallet - Retail Value $48

(Annual subscribers can pick this wallet OR a Mark & Graham Colorblock Throw)

This blush wallet is made from vegan leather with gold metal accents. The exterior features a zippered pocket.

Inside, there are 6 card slots and 2 cash pockets, including this one that folds out a bit:

Such a chic wallet!

African Botanics Hand Cream - Retail Value $55

(Annual subscribers can pick this OR Kate Somerville Exfolikate)

Wow! This is my favorite new beauty discovery in a while! This brand is ingredient conscious, super luxe, and OMG this hand cream has such a lovely natural scent! And not only does it smell amazing, hydrate your hands, and absorb super quickly, it's also formulated to help reduce age spots and even out skin tone!

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $350. Amazing! I'm really impressed with the quality of all these items, too. This is a great mix of beauty + fashion + home items for me. And if you use the $10 coupon below, you get this box for only $39.99 - that's $4.44 an item!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes!

FLASH SALE - Use coupon code HOORAY to save $10 off of your first FabFitFun box and get $15 to spend in the Edit Sale!

What do you think of the Winter 2019 FabFitFun Editor's box?

Also, here are the other options you can pick for this box:

Summer & Rose Celine Crossbody - Retail Value $58

This crossbody bag features a removable strap so you can use it as a clutch as well:

The exterior flap stays in place under the band:

And inside there is one open pocket. Here's the black version:

And here it is on:

I'm so happy to see FabFitFun include a clutch with a removable strap - exactly what so many MSA readers have been asking for!

Way of Will Essential Oil Set - Retail Value $31

These are all-natural and smell amazing. (The Sweet Orange is my personal favorite!)

Kate Somerville Exfolikate - Retail Value $75

I’ve sampled this a few times before thanks to subscription boxes, and I love it.

First, it’s a super quick-use beauty product. You only need to use it for 30 seconds (and you can leave it on for up to two minutes) and apply it twice a week. And it’s paraben, sulfate, and phthalate free!

The exfoliant particles are super fine, so it’s gentle on my skin, and I love the cinnamon scent, too. And the best part? It left my skin feeling super soft and smooth.

Mark & Graham Colorblock Throw - Retail Value $49

This blanket measures 50”w x 60”h. The material is 100% acrylic and super soft!

That's everything you can pick from! Which items are you picking?

Very disappointed in the last 2 boxes. This fall box was not fab or fun. My Ipsy box was better! No fun surprises and products were boring. Very disappointing. Sadly I cancelled my subscription. Treat your long time members better or you’ll lose them.

Erin S Koepp

I kind of feel the same about the fall’19 box. I just renewed but am disappointed.

Reply ButtonReply

Marisa C.

Same! And this one doesn’t look too fab or fun either.

Coco

I subscribed as a seasonal just to get this box, and am very happy with it. I chose the scarf, which is so pretty in person, and paid $10 extra to get the pewter crossbody bag. They sent the hand cream, which I use a ton of because I live in a cold, arid climate, and the throw, which I definitely wanted instead of the flat wallet. This was a great deal. I doubt I’ll stick with FFF though – I’m on overload, and I really don’t like their new policy that annual subscribers get to customize everything first. We’ll see how that plays out. But this box was wonderful!

I covet ALL the unwanted Spongelles! Beach grass smells amazing!

A couple of my extre add on.items were not sealed with any kind of stuck on or lift out sealer . Dr.Brandt do not age almost looked half used an the curl cream was half gone …? Kinda makes me wonder if someone else is trying them also . Or iam afraid to use either one I dont know wh

Love them also!!!!!

I got mine today and have the following comments:
1. Blush wallet – I did not expect this one to be so good. To me thats the real winner of this box (even though I ordered it it simply because of the ExfoliKate). I love it to the point I got rid of mine new brand name wallet to use this one instead! LOVE IT!!!

2. “Cross-body” purse – you need to be real tiny to be able to wear this as a cross-body. It looks cheap too. Im kind of sad I didnt choose the scarf instead.

3. Bowls – they are so tiny!!! I though I would be able to use them as cereal bowls but nope, they will be good for serving antipasti only, I’d say.

4. Everything else in the box was ok. Love the exfoliKate, obviously, and I always go through a lot of hair products, so another hair mask was a win as well.

Reply ButtonReply

Ursula

The bowl are “prep” bowls meant to be used for “mis en place” when cooking.

I got my box yesterday. Everything was awesome except I had selected a purse instead of the scarf. Purse was much cuter in person and I LOVED the use of vegan leather, but I have a similar one already. I contacted customer service on the chat feature and began talking to a rep named Lorraine. She was so efficient and resolved the issue right away. She is sending me the scarf AND letting me keep the purse. Way to go Lorraine and thank you FFF for having such excellent customer service. ❤️

Reply ButtonReply

Punkykiki

Just said that backward, lol. I chose a scarf and received a purse. 😊

Jessica

Wow, that hand cream has amazing ingredients, and those bowls are adorable, does anyone have any thoughts on the hand cream vs the exfolikate? I’ve never honestly tried the exfolikate but hear about it quite a bit.

Reply ButtonReply

Jenn

I have really dry hands to the point of splitting and bleeding. After 1 use of the hand cream my hands were noticeably better looking and feeling, day 4 I can’t even describe how happy I am. I have literally tried everything I could find and nothing made my hands better. I have hosimotos and that’s just one of the side effects. To add to this miracle for me personally my hands even look younger! The scent isn’t my favorite but it’s not real strong and because of the effects I’d just deal with it. I use a pea size once a day. I will be buying more when I run out despite the price and I’m a “if it’s not a deal I won’t buy it”

Reply ButtonReply

Cindy M.

I have purchased both and while the hand cream is okay, Exfolicate is fantabulous imo!

I should have popped some popcorn to enjoy while reading the comments. People have *thoughts*.

I have the the thrown from the winter box I didn’t think i wouldn’t like it. I love it. It is very soft and so warm. I have a lot of soft throws. This one is thinner but still warmer than my others.

Reply ButtonReply

Ela Avar

Yours is the first comment I read, so I took your suggestion! Popcorn is popped and I even added a little butter and cheese! Let the reading commence!

I want this box, but I can’t decide between the scarf and bag. I can’t tell if the bag is large enough to wear across my larger-than-Liz body. 🙂

I love the purse, but unlike so many here, I can’t have enough scarves, shawls, and throw blankies. My hubby sighs every time I buy a new throw. Poor fella. 🙂 But, to be fair, they all get used regularly.

Reply ButtonReply

Darlene

Me too, since I cant decide I just pay $10 extra and pick both >.<

This is a really cute editor’s box. I actually like it better than the Winter one they sent us. FabFitFun always does a great job curating.

I’m so glad I saw people’s comments on here and didn’t get the box during the edit sale. It’s now available in the shop, and I was able to customize all four things even though I’m not an annual subscriber.

I’ve never subscribed to FabFitFun and this makes me want to keep it that way. One of the more expensive boxes w/ a lot of nondescript stuff I would merely give away. I mean hand creme (got plenty already from other boxes), a nondescript scarf (no thank you), another Glamglow mask (oh joy…sarcasm), I have that hair mask from another box (it’s okay, but I wouldn’t buy it), oh god, more eye masks. Of all these, I like the bowls and the eye highlighter. Not enough to spend over $50 tho. Reminds me of my experience with PopSugar. A lot of nondescript items at a premium price. I wore a scarf from a PopSugar box and my daughter said “mom that looks like something you got from a subscription box.” In other words, merchandise that wouldn’t sell. For $50 I want special.

Reply ButtonReply

T.Marie

“nondescript scarf”??!!
It’s 3 scarf together. I don’t know about everyone else but I’ve never seen a 3 scarf look, and I work in a very busy retail store. It’s harder nondescript.
You don’t like then, you saved $50

Reply ButtonReply

Kathy Piccini

Thats a shame. 😢
I wore mine to a special holiday gathering n was complimented on it all evening.

Reply ButtonReply

Dani

Surprised by all the blanket hate. I think it’s really snuggly. I’ve really been enjoying it. Plus my pets love it too. There’s always a cat on it!

Reply ButtonReply

AmyM

Same! My Great Dane has adopted it and it’s holding up nicely. No complaints here.

Reply ButtonReply

Julia

Well I am weak and went ahead and got one of the winter Editor’s boxes. It’s a much better box than the one they actually sent out to me! Even though I know I’m going to probably receive all the stuff I don’t want. lol.

I actually really like the blanket we got in the winter box. It’s very lightweight, but it’s incredibly soft and washes up like it’s new. I’m one of those people who always wants a blanket over my legs even in warm weather and it’s perfect for that. Also, my elderly dog wants to be under a blanket all the time on the sofa now, but she gets too hot. She and I can share this blanket and it’s the perfect weight to make her feel safe and warm but not too heavy. Having said that,I really don’t need another one but I’m sure that since most people hated them, that’s what will be left for those of us who can’t make selections on this box as an add-on. Oh well. Now Lily will have two. 🙂
Hopefully I’ll at least get the other color.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

Awwwww i love animal lovers…what a good dog momma! I don’t want my kitty to get old.

Reply ButtonReply

T.Marie

They sent me the tan one twice. Even though I customised one box with gray. CS claimed I was wrong and said once all the Winter boxes are done I can BUY the grey one. I’m so pissed at their CS

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley

LIZ – I must know, if you have bad dark circles (like me) what concealer or treatment do you use? Or is it your lighting that vanishes yours? You can’t tell in your photos that you have any traces and I feel I’ve tried everything! Hope you see this & thank you for all you do. Happy New Year to you & the MSA team!

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica

I gave my throw to an in-law that i don’t like, but have to deal with for an x-mas gift, soooo it worked out for me. Here’s to hoping it snags on everything 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

Lol …..priceless!

Reply ButtonReply

Kathy Piccini

I thought the throw was going to be a piece of garbage too. Surprisingly, after washing n drying it? it became incredibly soft and makes a perfect throw for the sofa. 😊
I use it daily.

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

LOL. As mean spirited as this comment sounds, I think a lot of us are or have been there. My MIL is 👿 and wouldn’t deserve even this throw.

Reply ButtonReply

Lilly

Why are people saying the acrylic knit items are toxic?

Is this a poor choice of a person’s impression of acrylic or are they actually harmful in some way?

Reply ButtonReply

Kathy Piccini

No they are not “toxic”. I think we’d all be hard pressed to not find ANYTHING in our homes with acrylic in it. Please. Lol

Reply ButtonReply

Rachel Wick

I don’t know what everyone’s issue with the throw is. Mine is really soft and I like it.

Reply ButtonReply

Kathy Piccini

Ditto. My throw became SUPER SOFT after putting it thru a gentle wash n air dry. 😊

Reply ButtonReply

Debbie

I know, right? I really like mine! It’s lightweight but I have no problems with snags, etc. it’s a nice lap throw. Matches my couches nicely and pairs well with my yellow lab. ❤️❤️

Reply ButtonReply

TK

I’m glad to hear some people like the throw. I gave it to my son’s girlfriend, along with lots of various sub box items, and I really like her. I wasn’t trying to pawn it off on someone I don’t care for. She has a sweet dog so maybe she can use it for a doggy blanket.

Reply ButtonReply

Sandy

Me too! It’s very soft, and light enough that I don’t get too hot when using it. And me and my cat have used it quite a bit and no snags yet.

Reply ButtonReply

Lydia

Sorry but if something isn’t good enough for me then I’m not pawning it off on a shelter either. They have enough hardships without having to add dealing with sub box rejects to their list.

Reply ButtonReply

Danielle

That’s such a shame. Different people have different tastes and standards and needs. Especially a person that can afford a pricey sub box versus a homeless person. Have you never heard, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”? And trust me, those places are quite happy to get pretty much anything, especially brand new items. What a shame that you throw your unwanted items in the trash. I hope you read these comments and decide to rethink your misunderstanding of those in need.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

For those (like me) that did not like the blanket:

Another idea is to donate the blanket to a Goodwill (or similar) store. They’ll get it into the hands of someone who actually wants it, make a few bucks to cover their effort, and in the case of Goodwill, their processing of the item will provide work training/experience for someone.

Lots of people might love the blanket, for example, a college student, someone setting up their first apartment, an elderly person on a fixed income, a student who wants to use pieces of the fabric in their art project, or as a prop in a school play, etc., etc. And beyond that, we all know how much DIYers LOVE to repurpose things!

Lastly, if no one bought the blanket from Goodwill, (which I truly doubt would happen as it’s new,) they take their unsold textiles from their stores and sell them at a very cheap bulk rate to companies that use or recycle the fibers. So somehow, somewhere, the blanket will be used.

Reply ButtonReply

Kathy Piccini

So of course all the while implying that anyone who DOES like the throw (an opinion other than YOURS) must either be young & unknowledgable Or old & poor, etc. Wow. 😏
A tad bit snarky doncha think? SMH

Julie

Blankets are in high demand at shelters. Just because you don’t like something someone else may really like it and appreciate it and not see it as a reject at all. I encourage anyone that doesn’t like something in a box to donate it to a women’s shelter. What doesn’t seem like much to you could truly make someone’s day

Reply ButtonReply

Clarissa

I give a lot of items I don’t use to the domestic violence shelter where I live I get 5 ipsy bags and a plus for me I also get several birch boxes and play by Sephora so I can donate items I once got a skin tint in the shade dark in every ipsy bag but where I live I know it was an item no one would be able to use I took it with me anyway so if the girls wanted it for like a bronzer so I ended up with none just because you won’t use it doesn’t mean someone else that had to leave everything or lost everything won’t use it when I was in there I didn’t care what kind of eyeliner ir foundation I had just having one was all that mattered I was a full time student and had to find a job so I would have loved anything new that was given to me to help even if it was wet and wild if you havnt been in that kind of situation you couldn’t understand I guess

Fried pickles

Yes. THIS! I do the same! And the women are SO GRATEFUL!

T.Marie

Trust me, they appreciate nice new skincare and makeup they can’t afford. I donate my to aTeen Challenge women’s home for addicts. These ladies come there with NOTHING. Don’t they deserve something to wash their face with that isn’t Ivory soap.
My daughter graduated from the adolescent home and my mom works at their transition for the girls after they graduate the program and she tells me they get all excited!
You’re doing a good thing.

Lilly

All my adult life, I’ve worn sweaters which had some shedding. Angora, Mohair, Cashmere, two fab. hand dyed and hand woven natural fiber capes and a sweater from Ireland, all of them shed a bit. And I wore contact lens for many years.. double trouble. Shedding of winter fibers is a part of wearing or using luxury fabrics ( and the winter acrylic FFF throw to a lesser extent). I don’t have kids, and our throws get 0 actual use or wear.My problem is the BORING factor of this throw.

I COLLECT and use bedding to re-charge 5 bedrooms on a constantly rotating basis. I’d have liked this throw if they’d have offered it in a blush color, or a soft green or blue. Or plum ( my favorite luxury throw is plum. It totally works!)

Our paint scheme is neutral with a touch of blush, our flooring is natural hardwood.
It gets REALLY hard to use BEIGE or GRAY all the time from many sub box throws.

I have to go elsewhere and buy throws with some solid color that shows up and spend the cost of 3 FFF boxes to get one nice one.

So my beef is more with the neutral on top of the PSMH neutral one ( which I do love with the fringe element as a design feature) but the boxes should not be so afraid of glorious COLOR.

For a couple of summers, we got turkish towels and a tablecloth or two in beautiful colors and tote bags and so forth, then it all went back to sourcing neutrals again.

Houses shouldn’t be Pottery Boring.

Reply ButtonReply

Meeeed

Some of us namely myself really like neutrals!

Reply ButtonReply

Lou

Who forced you to spend $150 on a throw?? You ever heard of Target? You certainly CAN get nice throws there. Or Marshall’s/Home Good’s!

laci

i know it’s kind of a pain in the ass, but maybe it can be dyed? i’ve changed the color of a few clothing & bedding items and they’ve turned out quite nicely. even if acrylic has issues absorbing color, blush would be an easy color to achieve, if even a little color held. (colors can be mixed to create any shade.)

Reply ButtonReply

Shelli

I really hope that they offer this box to existing members and allow annual customization soon. I 💜💜💜 that scarf and need it in my life! But I will only buy if I can customize because surely I would end up with the exfolikate that I can’t use. I thought the blanket was soft and cozy and have it on the back of my chair but haven’t really “used” it yet, so I’m confused about all the negative comments. Can someone explain?? It kind of sounds like it will self destruct if I use it…..

Reply ButtonReply

Kathy Piccini

There’s absolutely nothing whatsoever wrong with the throw. I’ve washed mine n notta snag, rip or tear in it. Delicate wash, air fluff or hang dry. And that Donni scarf is to die for! Id use absolutely every single thing in this box. Lol. Donni scarfs are EXPENSIVE. I know. N during the cooler winter months will come in very handy indeed. The eye masks? I have some of these Blaq eye masks n they work beautifully for overtired and/ or puffy eyes. TIP: Once you use the eye masks dont throw them away. Rinse them off and stick them in the fridge or freezer. Can be used again to soothe your eyes. Yes, they ARE that durable. Again, probably why they’re a tad costly. Spongelles are fantastic, what can I say? N the Beach Grass scent is one of my favorites. That “hand cream” is very expensive as well and is more than just your average “run of the mill” hand cream. I may order this box from The Shop after our FFF Winter Edit Sale is over.

Reply ButtonReply

Sandy

I love the throw and use it all the time. My cat and I both like it, in fact, and no snags yet. I really don’t know why there’s all this hysteria about it.

Reply ButtonReply

Ana

I’m excited about it.

Kay

I use my blanket and love it! It’s not super warm…but great for when I want to feel covered up but don’t want to get hot. Mine hasn’t snagged or had any issues.

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

The cost per item comes out to what, a few bucks!? I cannot believe people are complaining about the throw, then being so wasteful as to throw it out. It may not seem like a $50 throw, but you shouldn’t reasonably be expecting that. That’s partially why it’s in a FFF box.
I judge a box by the actual cost I pay per item, then asking myself if I would spend that much on each item at some place like T.J. Maxx. The answer is always “YES!” And I’m super picky and hard to please. FYI, my cat took over the throw from me and LOVES it. Washes up perfectly too.

Reply ButtonReply

T.Marie

The new kitten, who I rescued from outside before it got too cold, loves to kneed the blanket. I have to take it out it she won’t sleep. She’ll just stand there lol

Reply ButtonReply

Ava

This is also my process. I’m surprised not more people are like this!

I’ve been following these comments closely, as I want this box *so* bad, but I cancelled my annual membership right before the Winter Box. I know I could sign up using a new email address, but that seems silly and hard to keep track of. I just got off chat with FFF and they were unwilling to budge even though I said I’d sign up for an annual membership right now! Annoying.

Anyway, for any lapsed members who are curious, Customer Service said if you reactivate your membership now, the Spring Box will be your first box.

Also, I wanted to point out that the HOORAY code only works for a Seasonal membership, which also annoys me… why wouldn’t they extend the offer to Annual members who are committing to more money upfront?

Don’t make me so sad FFF. I want to love you!

Reply ButtonReply

Kathy Piccini

Yes, the code applies seasonally but I’ve heard some ladies who got it changed to annual memberships via Caitlin Landis, Head of Customer Care. Maybe you can try contacting her? She’s located in California headquarters. Not their customer service chat lines. Those are based in the Philippines. Hope you get the help u need hon

Reply ButtonReply

Regina

I reactivated my membership and my first box is the winter box. I was offered a 25 dollar credit to spend on the edit sale if I reactivated. ( the winter editors box is offered there for 49 dollars. If I purchased it with the credit I would only be paying 25 dollars for it, plus I would be getting the winter box) I then turned around and purchased an annual membership for 179.

Reply ButtonReply

Coco

The annual membership for new, first-time subscribers is already reduced from $199 down to $179 on their website, so I’m pretty sure that’s why the HOORAY code can’t be used for the annual membership, only the seasonal.

Reply ButtonReply

DawnS

Really sad hearing so many say they “literally” threw the throw or scarf in the trash. Folks if you don’t like something and refuse to gift it for one reason or another please donate.

Reply ButtonReply

GhostShimmer

I wholeheartedly agree with this! I volunteer at a shelter that houses women and children who have suffered domestic abuse, human trafficking, etc. and I donate all unwanted items from FFF and other sub boxes to this shelter. I have never seen so much gratitude for a blanket, especially one that is brand spanking new. I got a scarf/shawl thing in my PopSugar box and though it wasn’t for me (I just didn’t like how it looked), I gave it to a woman I’ve met through my volunteer work as a Xmas gift and she absolutely loved it. It’s a more fashion scarf, but it’s really wide, thick and actually keeps you warm so it was perfect since they keep the shelters on the colder side, even down here in Florida. I hate reading that people just “tossed it (the blanket or other items) in the trash” because you may not like it or use it, but there are those that will treasure it because they are without. Even when I donate my samples of makeup and skincare, the women love it. We make little pre-packaged bags with skincare products (face wash, moisturizer, hand cream, etc) along with basic makeup (mascara, eyeliner, lip gloss/lipstick) since a lot of these women will be looking for work in the future and looking professional on an interview is key. Also, what better way to instantly feel better about yourself than that little touch of mascara or lip color? So if you find something in your sub box that you’re quite “meh” about, please consider donation to a shelter. Trust me, it will be treasured.

For real it’s modern day elitism, I like high quality things and frequently gripe about the FFF jewelry for example but only because of the state’s retail versus the actual item- I still wear it or trade or give away! The blanket is FINE. It’s in a sub box that cost $50 or less it’s not a blanket from Saks fifth avenue for goodness sake.

I completely agree with you Deanne. Elitism is rampant everywhere and across all the message boards for all the curated boxes.

Something that happens around my area is people will tie a coat or scarf on a telephone pole so someone walking by that needs it can grab it! I love that my town does that and both the scarf and blanket could be done like that! So even if you don’t have time to go donate, you can easily do this, it would take just 30 seconds.

My city does this also, downtown Frederick, MD

Absolutely! Animal shelters are always looking for blankets/towels/sheets, new or used, as long as they are clean.
Donate to homeless shelters, give to churches that house the homeless, put it in those bins that collect donated, clean clothes. Let someone else decide if it’s “trash”.
If we are able to even comment here, we have far more than we need.

Agreed!! Others could use it just as well, whether it’s given to the homeless or someone finds it at their local thrift shop. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Or put it in a flower bed for a feral kitty or a dog blanket.

Liz, thank you so much for the coupon and the great review! Ordered a box quickly and easily, and even though I won’t likely go the Annual route again, they let me choose not to get another Winter throw ( I get all the boxes LOL).

I got the crossbody bag in Steel, the tri-color scarf, the AK blush wallet, and the ExfoliKate for sure.

Thrilled with this box. Agree with those who say it’s more varied and fun in the contents than the Winter box was. I LOVE the Pier One bowls most of all and everyone’s getting them ! 😉
